WAMG Exclusive: DAN FOGLER talks Movies, TV & Comic Con

Even our most casual readers seem to know that we are big fans of DAN FOGLER at WAMG. I love chatting with the man and our interviews always seem to go off topic in the best possible way. I recently got the chance to talk with him about a slew of projects he is working on.

RANDOMNESS

As I already said, our interviews tend to go way off topic. Here are some random but strangely hilarious moments from our chat.

DAN FOGLER ON SCULPTURE

Dan talks about a new hobby he picked up.

We also talked a lot about TAKE ME HOME TONIGHT & the awesomely 80s Atomic Tom music video. I will post that footage when the film is released on DVD, Blu-Ray & VOD on July 19th!

WAMG Exclusive: Dan Fogler Talks New Film & Graphic Novel

Recently, I posted an interview with Dan Fogler (Fanboys, Balls of Fury) about his Atom.com webseries M’LARKY. The first season just ended (Watch HERE) so I thought I’d post some of the other cool stuff Dan mentioned during our interview.

In the video below, Dan breaks the news about his new film DON PEYOTE. This is his second feature as a writer/director but unlike HYSTERICAL PSYCHO Dan also stars in this one. After the interview, I got to see some footage from the film and it is going to surprise you. This is a very different role for Dan and his comparison to Woody Allen is spot on. The film also has some rather surprising cameos by Jay Baruchel and Anne Hathaway. They are still deep in production on this but I have no doubt that this is going to be one very interesting flick.

Dan also gave us a quick update on the status of HYSTERICAL PSYCHO. I’ve seen the film a few times now and it really is a fantastic EVIL DEAD style horror comedy. The film will hopefully be coming out this October, along with a graphic novel based on the film’s main location. Here’s a quick video of what Dan had to say about the film and the MOON LAKE graphic novel.

And here are two pages of artwork from it: (Warning: The second image is VERY GRAPHIC)

I think the artwork is incredible; how about you? Which of Dan’s upcoming projects are you most excited about?

WAMG Interview: Dan Fogler

Dan Fogler Interview

One of the best things about writing for this site is getting to meet some really awesome people. I first spoke with Dan Fogler back at Tribeca when he was promoting his insane horror-comedy ‘Hysterical Psycho’. I met up with him again in June to talk more about the film but we unfortunately had to cut the interview short. We finally met up late last week to finish it up. I filmed over 90 minutes and still have a ton of great stuff to edit but I wanted to post some stuff now.

In the first video, Dan has a special introduction for our site and then announces some big news regarding ‘Hysterical Psycho’. (Spoiler: It’s coming to theaters!) The second video kills the rumor that he plans to fill John Candy’s shoes in the supposed remake of ‘Uncle Buck’. The third video is all about some more films Dan is not involved with and the fourth focuses on some projects he will actually be in. The final bonus video entitled The Dan Fogler Show is a 21 minute video where Dan interviews me about my film ‘Stuck Like Chuck’. Enjoy!

WAMG Interview: Paul Dano

paul-dano-gigantic

Last weekend I posted my review of Gigantic and I also posted my interview with Matt Aselton. Well, in addition to meeting Matt, I also had a chance to sit at a press roundtable for Paul Dano. I broke up what he had to say in 3 different videos. Enjoy!

In this first video, Dano talks a little about the film, his role as a producer and what it was like working with such a talented cast.

In this video, Dano talks more about filmmaking in general and his feelings on what the most important part of a film are.

Finally, Dano opens up a little about one of the most anticipated movies of the year, Where the Wild Things are.

This weekend Gigantic opened in more New York theaters, as well as in Chicago, New Jersey and California. Check www.thegiganticmovie.com for future engagements.

WAMG Exclusive: New ‘Mutant Chronicles’ stills

exclusivemc5

We got our hands on some super awesome, super exclusive ‘Mutant Chronicle’ photos.

I got a chance to see an unfinished cut of this just before this year’s New York Comic Con. I really enjoyed it and called it an “awesomely epic b-movie† in my pre-Comic Con coverage. The story was cool, some good special effects and Thomas Jane was awesome as the lead. Overall, it was a solid B-flick. I’m looking forward to seeing the final version very soon. It is currently available on VOD and will be released in theaters on April 24th. I suggest you check it out whichever way you can. And for all you LA readers, I will be posting very soon how you can get tickets to the premiere.
