(Yahoo! Movies)

In THE EXPENDABLES 3, Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Statham) and the rest of the team come face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill… or so he thought.

Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables — but Barney has other plans. Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and more tech-savvy.

The latest mission becomes a clash of classic old-school style versus high-tech expertise in the Expendables’ most personal battle yet.

The first two installments of THE EXPENDABLES have grossed nearly $600 million in combined global box office.

THE EXPENDABLES 3 is written by Sylvester Stallone, Creighton Rothenberger & Katrin Benedikt.

Directed by Patrick Hughes, THE EXPENDABLES 3 will be in theaters August 15th.

WAMG Exclusive Interview With TERRY CREWS : Tyler Perry’s THE SINGLE MOMS CLUB

SMC_D1_138.CR2 (FSR:AA)

THE SINGLE MOMS CLUB is in theaters now and to celebrate WAMG sat down with Terry Crews, who plays Branson in the film, to talk about love scenes, football, and the musical HAIRSPRAY. Check it out below!

When five struggling single moms put aside their differences to form a support group, they find inspiration and laughter in their new sisterhood, and help each other overcome the obstacles that stand in their way. THE SINGLE MOMS CLUB stars Nia Long, Amy Smart, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Zulay Henao, and Cocoa Brown, making this one film you don’t want to miss!

SMC_D6_035.CR2

This film celebrates all of the single mothers out there. Was that one of the big draws for you to be a part of this film?

Terry Crews: Oh, big time! First of all, that’s my big audience! [laughs] To be honest, it’s really a cool place to be! I’ve got EXPENDABLES for the guys, and then I have ‘Everybody Hates Chris’… shows like that for the ladies. WHITE CHICKS, or that kind of thing that makes the ladies laugh.

When I met my wife, she was a single mom, and it really resonated with me that Tyler is doing something like this. Hollywood really doesn’t represent everyone in most things, so it’s really refreshing to have a single mom being represented in all different ethnicities and cultures… There are billions of people on Earth, and each one of them has their own story. That’s why you can just keep making entertainment. Forever! Everybody’s story is different, and even if it’s similar once the time changes it’s a whole different story. You know what I’m saying? I love it. I absolutely love it.

You have such an amazing chemistry with Cocoa Brown, and you are actually friends with her husband. Did that help aid the chemistry between you two, and how were those love scenes knowing her husband?

Terry Crews: Yeah, well believe me! We were on the phone! [Laughs] It’s funny, because I called my wife and was like “I’m about to do a love scene with Cocoa! It’s ok! It’ll be fun! It’ll be good!” [laughs] and then you hang up! And she called her husband. I talked to him and was just like “Hey man, I just want to let you know that I respect her, and let me tell you… it will all be pro.” You know, you just want to get it out in the air. You have to respect the other persons life partner. I’ve been fortunate in my business to have people who always think that way, because I’ve heard horror stories of people who didn’t and that is not a good place to be… but Tyler’s sets are a family set. They’re very, very cool, and Cocoa is just such an amazing person, so we laughed, we joked, and we did the scene, and it was a lot of fun!

Tyler is known to have short shooting schedules with really long days. How was that for you, and did that give you a chance to improvise on set at all?

Terry Crews: He’s like Clint Eastwood. Clint Eastwood shoots the same way. He shoots two takes and he’s out. They’re done by, like, 6pm, which is unheard of. That’s the only way I can compare it. People say that Tyler rushes, but Clint Eastwood rushes… Clint Eastwood does it the same way. A lot of people don’t want to wear the actors out… but, I do know this. I warm up way before I get there.

Do you?

Terry Crews: Oh yeah! I’m in the trailer doing the things, and doing the things so when I get on set it’s action. It’s go. I’m on full speed. You don’t want to warm it up, and then wait, because what happens is they say “Ok, we’re moving on” and you missed it. This is my nightmare – to go home wishing that I would have put something out on-screen, and wanted to give that performance, but not have been able to. That’s a nightmare. For an actor, that’s a nightmare. What I do is I give it 100%, and I say ‘Tyler, if I’m giving too much just pull me back.” You can never turn a guy up, but you can always turn them down. Turning someone up is too much. They’ll turn off on you. So, I give it 110% and he’ll go ‘Oh, ok! Give me an 8! On a scale of 1 to 10 I’ll take an 8.” [Laughs]

I have to ask this because I’m from St. Louis. We currently have the Rams, but there are rumors of the Rams coming back to LA. Are you kind of excited about that since you played for the Los Angeles Rams?

Terry Crews: Eh. I don’t care at all, to be honest with you. I’ve been in the NFL, did my whole thing. It’s like having a favorite movie studio. I’ll do a movie for Warner Bros. I’ll do a movie for Lionsgate! I’ll do a movie for Universal! [laughs]

That’s a great point!

Terry Crews: It is! And what people don’t understand is that in the NFL the money goes to the same people. It goes to the same place. They revenue share. So, their records don’t even matter. See, I’ve seen the Wizard…

[laughs] That’s a great way to put it!

Terry Crews: [Laughs] It’s like the curtain went down “Oh, boy! Wow!” and you realize that this is the reason that players go from team, to team, to team. Brett Favre can be on the Green Bay Packers, and then he’s on the hated Minnesota Vikings the next year! How can this happen? [laughs] Guess what? It’s because everybody is getting the same money. So, I learned to relax with all of that, but I love a good game… just like I love to see a good movie. I don’t care who makes it. A good game, ahh… I can appreciate a wonderful game. That’s why the Super Bowl sucked. [laughs]

I’ll tell ya, I’m a baseball girl. I’m not that much of a football girl, but I sat there during that game, bored out of my mind!

Terry Crews: Yes! It’s like watching a bad movie! [laughs]

You’ve done comedy, you’ve done voice-over in animation, you’ve done action – which I’m really excited about THE EXPENDABLES. Is there any type of role that you’d love to play, that maybe you haven’t yet?

Terry Crews: I want to do a musical.

Do you really?

Terry Crews: I want to do a musical bad.

You’ve certainly got the voice for it.

Terry Crews: I would love to do a musical. Dancing… singing… the whole thing. HAIRSPRAY was my favorite movie that came out that year. That, and 300. It’s weird. I’m that weird. [laughs] 300 and HAIRSPRAY! That’s a swing, right? Terry Crews is everything in the middle of that! [laughs] I love HAIRSPRAY! The music… just the whole thing. I get down with that! I love when you do it right. One of my favorite moments in movie history was when Spike Lee did SCHOOL DAZE. He had good and bad hair… that whole musical segment of good and bad hair. You hadn’t seen a musical in years, and he did a segment right in the middle of that. A song, dance, music, people, stage, lighting… the whole thing! I said “That is HOT!” Spike knew it was hot. That’s me. I wanna do one of those. I would love to do that!

THE EXPENDABLES 2 – The Review

Violent, funny and tough… THE EXPENDABLES 2 is ready to show you what it’s made of!

Mr. Church (Bruce Willis) needs the help of The Expendables again… a group of misfits ready to face whatever comes their way for a paycheck. This time, however, things go terribly wrong and the gang is out for revenge. Traveling into enemy territory, the guys are ready to take down anything in their path for vengence.

THE EXPENDABLES 2 is even better than the first film! I cannot remember the last movie that had me throwing my arms up in excitement, or slapping my knee from laughing so hard. They waste no time digging into the action. The film doesn’t even begin with credits. They know what the audience wants. Plus, these are some of the biggest action stars in the world… they don’t need opening credits.

The action itself is bigger, louder, and more in-your-face. The film lacks a bit in the story department, but it really doesn’t matter. That is not what audiences want from a film like this. They want to be entertained with action and humor. THE EXPENDABLES 2 gives just enough story to set the movie in place, and then lets the ass kicking adventure take over.

Let’s talk acting… Sure, the acting in this film is not the best, but that just adds to the enjoyment of the film. Some are better than others, but I really enjoyed the bad acting Schwarzenegger (Trench)’s line delivery – as an actor it’s awful. It’s what he says, and the energy that he uses to say it that makes it incredible, reguardless of it being believable. The writing in this installment is way better than the previous film, and the guys have a lot of throwbacks to the action characters that they made famous. This movie is catered to action fans, and it pays off.

Jason Statham (Lee Christmas) is wonderful, as usual. There is one particular fight scene (where he is dressed as a priest) that stands out in my mind as absolutely stunning. The choreography of the fighting along with the movement of his robes really showcase just how beautifully he moves. Bruce Willis (Mr. Church) is always a delight to see on screen. I have always found him incredible as an action star, and it’s nice to see him back in the game. Sylvester Stallone (Barney Ross) showed us that he really knows what he is doing with this film . Since he was a big part of making this film, I have to give him credit for knowing his action flicks, and putting together such a dymanic cast! Especially Chuck Norris! Don’t worry, I won’t spoil it for you… but seriously, hi-five for that one!

Liam Hemsworth (Billy The Kid) is a great addition to the team. For an apprentice, they needed someone who was young enough to learn from them, but talented enough to be able to stand their ground. Hemsworth did just that. I do wish that Terry Crews (Hale Ceasar) and Randy Couture (Toll Road) had bigger parts. Crews is not only a force to be recond with in terms of action, but he’s funny too. I really wish the two had more screen time. Dolph Lundgren (Gunner Jensen) really impressed me in this one. I wish he had a bit more screen time too, because he had me in stitches! They could not have picked a better villain to go with this group of actors than Jean-Claude Van Damme. He and Stallone are matched quite well in terms of fighting ability. Again, my only complaint is that he could have been on screen a bit more. With an ensemble cast like this, it’s hard to balance everyone. Overall, they did a great job with that. I guess it’s good to leave the audience wanting more!

THE EXPENDABLES 2 is everything that a throwback action movie should be. Go see it now!

WAMG At THE EXPENDABLES 2 Press Day

The Expendables are back and this time it’s personal…

All your favorite tough guys are back in THE EXPENDABLES 2, and WAMG was at the press day for the film. Below you will find the audio from round-tables with Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Scott Adkins and Jean-Claude Van Damme.

A group of big, strong, sexy, talented action stars… Let’s just say that it was not a bad day for Melissa!

Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone), Lee Christmas (Jason Statham), Yin Yang (Jet Li), Gunner Jensen (Dolph Lundgren), Toll Road (Randy Couture) and Hale Caesar (Terry Crews) — with newest members Billy the Kid (Liam Hemsworth) and Maggie (Yu Nan) aboard — are reunited when Mr. Church (Bruce Willis) enlists the Expendables to take on a seemingly simple job.  The task looks like an easy paycheck for Barney and his band of old-school mercenaries.   But when things go wrong and one of their own is viciously killed, the Expendables are compelled to seek revenge in hostile territory where the odds are stacked against them.  Hell-bent on payback, the crew cuts a swath of destruction through opposing forces, wreaking havoc and shutting down an unexpected threat in the nick of time — five tons of weapons-grade plutonium, far more than enough to change the balance of power in the world.  But that’s nothing compared to the justice they serve against the villainous adversary who savagely murdered their brother.

THE EXPENDABLES Sneak Peek!

Lionsgate has released this all new sneak peek of THE EXPENDABLES over on YouTube.

Writer, director and star Sylvester Stallone brings together a powerhouse cast of action superstars, never before seen together in one film, in the hard-hitting action thriller, THE EXPENDABLES.

Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) is a man with nothing to lose. Fearless and void of emotion, he is the leader, the sage and the strategist of this tight-knit band of men who live on the fringe. His only attachment is to his pickup truck, his seaplane and his team of loyal modern-day warriors. His is a true cynic who describes what he does as removing those hard to get at stains. The team behind him is made up of Lee Christmas (Jason Statham), former SAS and a savant with anything that has a blade; Yin Yang (Jet Li), a master at close-quarter combat; Hale Caesar (Terry Crews), who has known Barney for ten years and is a long-barrel weapons specialist; Toll Road (Randy Couture), a skilled demolitions expert and considered the intellect of the group; and Gunnar Jensen (Dolph Lundgren), a combat veteran and an expert in precision sniping who struggles with his own demons.

When the mysterious Church offers Barney a job no one else would take, Barney and his team embark on what appears to be a routine mission: overthrow General Gaza (David Zayas), the murderous dictator of the small island country of Vilena and end the years of death and destruction inflicted on its people. On a reconnaissance mission to Vilena, Barney and Christmas meet their contact Sandra (Giselle Itie), a local freedom-fighter with a dark secret. They also come to learn who their true enemy is: rogue ex-CIA operative James Monroe (Eric Roberts) and his henchman Paine (Steve Austin). When things go terribly wrong, Barney and Christmas are forced to leave Sandra behind, essentially giving her a death sentence. Haunted by this failure, Barney convinces the team to return to Vilena to rescue the hostage and finish the job he started. And to perhaps save a soul: his own.

THE EXPENDABLES will be in theatres on August 13th. To join the fight, check out the film on Facebook.
