In one of the most emotional Walk of Fame ceremonies, Chris Pratt was presented his star in Hollywood on April 21, 2017 with his wife Anna Faris, their son Jack and family in attendance.
Pratt said, “I want to thank my wife Anna, I love you. You’ve given me so much. You gave me the greatest star in the galaxy in my little boy, I love him and I love you.”
He added, “We have bonded to make this molecule that is more important to me than air or water, and without it none of this means anything to me. With every challenge, with every day, week, month, decade, we become more bonded. You make me laugh like nobody else. You’re very caring, and thank you for your trust and your sacrifice – and for your dedication and your heart. I will do my best to protect it, and in return I will give you all of those things as well. You have my heart, my dedication, my trust.”

Ann Faris said of her husband, “I’m the beneficiary of all this because I get to spend every day with this wonderful man … I know that if our circumstances were different and we weren’t as fortunate to be standing here and living our Hollywood life, we would be happy in the woods together, I think.”
Their son Jack, who is now 4, was born prematurely with health complications. “He stood by me and held me and was my anchor,” she said of Pratt.

From Marvel Studios, the studio that brought you the cinematic global blockbuster franchises of “Iron Man,” “Captain America,” “Thor,” “Ant-Man,” “Doctor Strange” and the “Avengers,” comes the highly anticipated sequel, featuring the world’s favorite band of intergalactic misfits—the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Picking up where “Guardians of the Galaxy”—2014’s highest grossing film of the summer—left off, Marvel Studios’ “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” continues the action-packed, irreverent, epic space adventures of Peter Quill aka Star-Lord and his gang of eccentric characters as they patrol and protect the universe, doing mercenary work in the wake of the popularity and fame they garnered from saving Xandar.
Set to the backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, the story follows the team as they fight to keep their newfound family together while traversing the outer reaches of the cosmos to unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to expand.
Marvel Studios’ “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” is written and directed by James Gunn (“Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Dawn of the Dead”) and produced by Kevin Feige.
Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is in U.S. theaters May 5 in 3D, RealD 3D and IMAX 3D.
Marvel Music/Hollywood Records have released the digital versions of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: Awesome Mix Vol. 2 songs-only album and GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 original score album by composer Tyler Bates (“Guardians of the Galaxy,” “John Wick Chapter 2,” “Watchmen”).
The film opens in U.S. theaters on May 5, 2017.
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 is filled with great action, humor and performances, but it is also infused with a new mixed tape and soundtrack, a dynamic that resonated deeply with audiences in the first film as evidenced by the success of the soundtrack album. The Grammy-nominated “Guardians of the Galaxy” soundtrack reached No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, becoming the first soundtrack album consisting entirely of previously released songs to top the chart. The album was certified Platinum by the R.I.A.A.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: Awesome Mix Vol. 2 is a collection of 14 songs and once again, music plays an important role in the telling of the story. In an exclusive interview for Rolling Stone Magazine, director James Gunn provides commentary for each track on the album.
Director James Gunn explains, “We had Awesome Mix Volume 1 last time, and this time we have Awesome Mix Volume 2. It was so important that it’s actually part of the film’s title this time around. As most people know, Quill’s mom made the first tape for a slightly younger boy, and she made the second tape for a slightly older boy. So, in many ways the songs reflect the story.”
Continuing, he adds, “The songs are a little bit deeper in some ways; a little bit less pop in some ways. Some of the choices are a bit more eclectic; some of the http://www.industrialinfo.com/choices are a bit more popular. But we have a real amazing group of songs that, like in the first movie, I wrote into the script. They are a part of the storytelling. Each song is very specific to the scene where it’s placed.”
On the importance of the score in the film, which often gets overlooked in a film heavy with popular songs, James Gunn adds, “The one thing that is underappreciated is how important Tyler Bates’ score is to the first film,” says the director. “We still use the score from the first movie while shooting this film and it doesn’t get the respect it deserves because it gets so overshadowed by the soundtrack. There’s some beautiful score on that first soundtrack, and I know that the music we’ve written for the second film is even better than what we did for the first film. Tyler Bates has absolutely outdone himself, and we’re giving something very special to people with the music in this film, both the pop songs and the actual score.”
Gunn and composer Tyler Bates worked on the score during pre-production so that they would have some of the major score themes worked out before the shoot began. This allowed Gunn, the actors and the camera crews to work with the music that will end up being used in the final film.
An array of artistic influences, from John Coltrane to Chopin, and the rock operas “Hair” and “Jesus Christ Superstar, set the course for Los Angeles-born Bates’ musical signature that often combines disparate components that become indigenous within his compositions for film, television, video games and new media. His ability to create new worlds of atmospheric soundscapes fused with traditional orchestra led to groundbreaking scores for Zack Snyder’s “Dawn of the Dead” and “300” films, and most recently, James Gunn’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” Marvel franchise.
“John Wick 2” and “The Belko Experiment,” both scored by Tyler Bates, exceeded box-office expectations and garnered rave reviews. Bates just completed work on “24 Hours to Live,” starring Ethan Hawke, directed by Brian Smrz. He is currently working on Emilio Estevez’s “The Public,” and James Cox’s “Billionaire Boys Club.” Bates’ next film release is “Atomic Blonde,” starring Charlize Theron, directed by David Leitch.
His current TV projects include the Marvel/Netflix series, “The Punisher,” written and directed by Steve Lightfoot, and Genndy Tartakovsky’s “Samurai Jack,” for Adult Swim.
This July 2017, Bates will embark on a world tour with shock-rocker Marilyn Manson, as lead guitarist, to celebrate the release of Manson’s forthcoming album “SAY 10,” which like Marilyn Manson’s “The Pale Emperor,” was co-written and produced by Bates. The duo created the title song “Cupid Carries a Gun,” for WGN’s “Salem,” which Bates also scored, as well as songs for both John Wick films.

James Gunn and Kevin Feige were ready to treat the Hall H audience to some fun as the closing act of the Marvel panel. Gunn came out with an incredible amount of energy… stoked to be back, and with the fans. If there is one thing that you should know about Gunn, is that he is incredibly grateful for his fans. What you see is what you get. That energy and excitement is real. How do I know? I’m lucky enough to call him a friend. This isn’t a humble brag. He deserves the praise of being an honest, kind, and humble creator. (Someone hide this from him though… Shh!)
At the start of his panel, the room was stormed by Ravagers that were there to do nothing more than heckle the crowd… as well as the panel. Sean Gunn, who has done an incredible job of wearing various hats throughout GUARDIANS, was joined by a wide array of talented actors/comedians such as Stephen Blackehart and Steve Agee, actor/musician Jimmy Urine, actor/director/goth/ass David Yarovesky (A.KA. Yarvo), and stunt man/crazy person who jumps out of planes and gives me complete anxiety with every video, Mike “Rooftop” Escamilla. One of the [many respectable/awesome… Again, hide this from him] things that Gunn does in his films is include some of his friends… which any fan should have figured out by now.
After a bit of footage, which included Baby Groot, Rocket, Yondu and his fancy new shark fin hawk, Kurt Russell announcing that he is, indeed, the father of Star-Lord, and a very short glimpse at Sylvester Stallone… Michael Rooker came out in full Yondu grab, joining Gunn, Feige, the Ravagers, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, Elizabeth Debicki and Pom Klementieff to talk about the film. Chris Hardwick was right, by the way… Rooker did bring Yondu cookies to a party, and they were delicious. See photo below…
Check out the panel here:
(Also, sorry for the shaky footage at times… The press pit was a bit hard to navigate!)
The panel was taken over by the Ravagers from GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2, and Kevin Feige announced the brand new Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! attraction at Disney California Adventure, followed by a surprise appearance from returning cast members Chris Pratt (Peter Quill), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Michael Rooker (Yondu) and new additions Kurt Russell (Ego), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Elizabeth Debicki (Ayesha) alongside director James Gunn. They treated fans to exclusive footage from the film.
