Seven years after capturing the heart of his co-anchor and wife, Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate), Burgundy (Will Ferrell) is offered the chance of lifetime: to be in on the world’s first 24-hour global cable news network, GNN, in New York City.

The newsman quickly rounds up his classic news team – sports guy Champ Kind (David Koechner), man on the street Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd) and weatherman Brick Tamland (Steve Carell) – and heads to The Big Apple. Upon arriving, he is quickly challenged by his strong female boss, Linda Jackson (Meagan Good), Australian multi-millionaire network owner Kench Allenby (Josh Lawson) and a chiseled popular lead anchor, Jack Lime (James Marsden).

It’s up to Ron and the team to find their own way to the top of news – and the top of the ratings.

Anchorman: The Exhibit Opens At the Newseum

On Thursday, Nov. 14, the Newseum will open its highly anticipated “Anchorman: The Exhibit,” featuring props, costumes and footage from the comedy classic “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.” The exhibit, created in partnership with Paramount Pictures, opens just weeks before the film’s much-awaited sequel “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues” hits theaters on Dec. 20.

Visitors to the exhibit will be greeted by an 8-foot-tall revolving display case featuring the iconic burgundy business suit worn by fictional newscaster Ron Burgundy, played in both movies by actor Will Ferrell. More than 60 costumes and hilarious props from the movie will be on display throughout the exhibit, including Ron’s “I’M #1” license plate, jazz flute and mustache brush.

The exhibit also features costumes and props from other members of Ron’s Channel 4 news team, including suits worn by reporter Veronica Corningstone (played by Christina Applegate) and sports anchor Champ Kind (played by David Koechner) and the Sex Panther cologne used by reporter Brian Fantana (played by Paul Rudd). The stuffed prop version of Ron’s dog Baxter, wearing Channel 4 pajamas, and the eyeglasses worn by weatherman Brick Tamland (played by Steve Carell) are also on display.

The movie tells the story of how a 1970s-era macho news team responds when an ambitious female reporter arrives in the newsroom with her sights on the anchor chair. “Anchorman: The Exhibit” explores the reality behind the humor of “Anchorman,” and tells the story of the challenges women faced when they arrived in newsrooms.

A Newseum-produced film features interviews with 1970s news anchors Connie Chung, Maury Povich and Melba Tolliver and news executive Al Primo, who is credited with revolutionizing broadcast news with the Eyewitness News format, which created teams of reporters and brought women and minorities into prominent roles in the newsroom.

In addition, local TV news promotional ads from the 1970s will be on display along with photos of popular news teams of the day.

In December, the Newseum will host two events featuring stars from the “Anchorman” films.

On Dec. 3, Will Ferrell, will appear at the Newseum for an invitation-only event to discuss “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.” On Dec. 17, actor David Koechner, who stars as Champ Kind in both “Anchorman” movies, will make a special appearance at an advance screening of the new movie. Tickets to the screening went on sale to the public in October and sold out in less than week.

Also on Dec. 17, costumes and props from “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues” will be unveiled in the exhibit, days before the sequel opens in theaters.

Visitors to the exhibit can see if they have what it takes to be a member of the Channel 4 news team, with RonBurgundy providing intros to the Newseum’s popular Be a TV Reporter experience, and budding news anchors can have their photos taken behind a replica of the Channel 4 News desk.

“Anchorman: The Exhibit” will be on display at the Newseum through Aug. 31, 2014.

Paramount Pictures, with exclusive partners AMC Theatres and Fandango, is announcing a “SUPERTICKET” offering on ANCHORMAN 2: THE LEGEND CONTINUES. The SUPERTICKET screenings give fans a chance to see the film two days early, ahead of its U.S. debut on December 20th.

Following a successful SUPERTICKET pilot program on WORLD WAR Z this past June, Paramount is now expanding the offering to a nationwide audience.

THIS JUST IN: Ben & Jerry’s Launches “Scotchy Scotch Scotch” To Honor ANCHORMAN 2’s Ron Burgundy

You heard it here first, folks! Ben & Jerry’s announces its newest limited batch ice cream flavor, “Scotchy Scotch Scotch.” Created in honor of beloved Ron Burgundy, the TV news anchor with a penchant for all things scotch, the flavor is a creamy concoction of butterscotch ice cream with ribbons of butterscotch swirl. Don’t act like you’re not impressed!

“Scotchy, Scotch, Scotch is a delicious ice cream and I hope Ben and Jerry consider my other suggestions,” said Ron Burgundy.  “Malt liquor marshmallow, well liquor bourbon peanut butter, and cheap white wine sherbet.”

The flavor was officially unveiled at New York City’s Pier 36 where members of the press attended and witnessed the announcement first-hand. True to the iconic ice cream company’s untraditional style, the event kicked off with – what else? – a performance by Nutty The Waterskiing Squirrel, as seen in the first Anchorman film.

Nutty’s prowess was immediately followed by the appearance of a Ben & Jerry’s scoop-truck-turned-Channel 4 News-truck, which rolled onto the scene transporting a legion of blazer-wearing Ron Burgundy look-alikes. After “Scotchy Scotch Scotch” was officially unveiled, attending media and fans were treated to free scoops of the new Ron Burgundy-inspired flavor.

Fans anxiously await December 20th, when Ron and his elite news team return to the news desk in “Anchorman 2:  The Legend Continues.”

“As a company who believes our fans deserve nothing but the best, we have great respect for Ron Burgundy, who takes the same belief to heart,” said Lisa Sholk, Ben & Jerry’s Marketing Maven, who lead the team on the Scotchy Scotch Scotch flavor project.

“Having Ben & Jerry’s celebrate the return of Ron Burgundy to the big screen with the introduction of this special ice cream is an exciting and delicious way to build anticipation for the film,” said LeeAnne Stables, President of Consumer Products at Paramount Pictures. “We especially enjoyed the sampling process over the last several months to find the perfect Scotchy scotch flavor.”

Scotchy Scotch Scotch is available now at participating scoop shops across the country. Pints of the flavor will arrive on store shelves over the next few weeks.

“To help locate the flavor as it rolls out, we’re asking fans of Ben & Jerry’s and Anchorman to log onto www.benjerry.com and share when and where they were able to have a taste,” Sholk said. “We want fans to be able to experience it all first-hand, because as Ron says, this flavor is ‘kind of a big deal.’”

The teaser will appear exclusively on THE DICTATOR, beginning at midnight tomorrow. In late March, funnyman Will Ferrell announced the return of San Diego’s favorite Anchorman on Conan O’Brien.

Will Ferrell and Director Adam McKay (@GhostPanther) recently worked together on THE CAMPAIGN.

‘Anchorman 2’… well, I don’t know?

“Good Morning San Diego” and countless more  are some of the most quotable lines ever. But is that enough to make a sequel? Well don’t cross your fingers just yet. While some people speculate that an ‘Anchorman 2’ would be great, that is not enough to get writers and producers alike to make the plans for another. So lets hope that when they decide to make another it is a better, more quotable movie than the first.
