PD_Teaser_1-Sheet_v2alt_Lg

Check out the first teaser trailer, photos and poster for Disney’s PETE’S DRAGON. The trailer made its debut during “Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland 60” on ABC Sunday night.

A reimagining of the studio’s cherished family film about the adventures of a boy named Pete and his best friend Elliott, who just so happens to be a dragon, PETE’S DRAGON starring Bryce Dallas Howard and Robert Redford flies into U.S. theaters on August 12, 2016.

For years, old wood carver Mr. Meacham (Robert Redford) has delighted local children with his tales of the fierce dragon that resides deep in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. To his daughter, Grace (Bryce Dallas Howard), who works as a forest ranger, these stories are little more than tall tales…until she meets Pete (Oakes Fegley).

Pete is a mysterious 10-year-old with no family and no home who claims to live in the woods with a giant, green dragon named Elliott. And from Pete’s descriptions, Elliott seems remarkably similar to the dragon from Mr. Meacham’s stories. With the help of Natalie (Oona Laurence), an 11-year-old girl whose father Jack (Wes Bentley) owns the local lumber mill, Grace sets out to determine where Pete came from, where he belongs, and the truth about this dragon.

Meryl Streep Stars In First Trailer For Stephen Frears’ FLORENCE FOSTER JENKINS

Florence Foster Jenkins

Here’s the terrific first trailer for FLORENCE FOSTER JENKINS starring Meryl Streep as Florence Foster Jenkins with Hugh Grant as her partner St Clair Bayfield.

The comedy drama directed by Stephen Frears (Philomena, The Queen) tells the inspirational true story of the eponymous New York heiress who obsessively pursued her dream of becoming a great singer.

The film celebrates the human spirit, the power of music and the passion of amateurs everywhere. The voice Florence (Streep) heard in her head was divine, but to the rest of the world it was hilariously awful. At private recitals, her devoted husband and manager, St Clair Bayfield (Grant), managed to protect Florence from the truth. But when Florence decided to give her first public concert at New York’s Carnegie Hall, St Clair realised he had perhaps bitten off more than he could chew. The film’s supporting cast members include Simon Helberg (The Big Bang Theory) as Florence’s long suffering piano accompanist, Rebecca Ferguson (Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation) and Nina Arianda (Midnight in Paris).

The film is produced by Michael Kuhn (The Duchess) and by Tracey Seaward (Philomena, The Queen). It is executive produced by Pathé’s Cameron McCracken, BBC Films’ Christine Langan and Qwerty’s Malcolm Ritchie. Nicholas Martin wrote the screenplay and the creative team includes Director of Photography Danny Cohen (The King’s Speech, Les Miserables), Production Designer Alan Macdonald (Philomena, The Queen), Costume Designer Consolata Boyle (Philomena, The Queen), Composer Alexandre Desplat (The Grand Budapest Hotel, Philomena) and Editor Valerio Bonelli (Philomena).

FLORENCE FOSTER JENKINS is a Pathé and BBC Films presentation with the participation of Canal + and Cine + of a Qwerty Films Production.

FLORENCE FOSTER JENKINS opens in UK cinemas nationwide on May 6, 2016.

Ethan Hawke Stars In BORN TO BE BLUE Trailer

BTBB_Still2

Ethan Hawke shines as legendary jazz musician Chet Baker in BORN TO BE BLUE. Written and directed by Robert Budreau, the film beautifully re-imagines Baker’s comeback in the late 60’s, driven in part by a romance with Jane (Carmen Ejogo).

Check out the new trailer below.

Ethan Hawke lights up the screen as jazz legend Chet Baker, whose tumultuous life is thrillingly reimagined with wit, verve, and style to burn. In the 1950s, Baker was one of the most famous trumpeters in the world, renowned as both a pioneer of the West Coast jazz scene and an icon of cool. By the 1960s, he was all but washed up, his career and personal life in shambles due to years of heroin addiction. In his innovative anti-biopic, director Robert Budreau zeroes in on Baker’s life at a key moment in the 1960s, just as the musician attempts to stage a hard-fought comeback, spurred in part by a passionate romance with a new flame (Camen Ejogo).

Creatively blending fact with fiction and driven by Hawke’s virtuoso performance, BORN TO BE BLUE unfolds with all the stylistic brio and improvisatory genius of great jazz.

BORN TO BE BLUE opens in theaters March 25, 2016, and available on VOD March 31, 2016.

Jeff Nichols’ must-see MIDNIGHT SPECIAL had its World Premiere in Berlin on Friday, February 12, 2016 at the 66th Berlinale International Film Festival .

Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Michael Shannon, Jaeden Lieberher und Jeff Nichols Weltpremiere MIDNIGHT SPECIAL, Berlinale 2016

A provocative, genre-defying film as supernatural as it is intimately human, it follows a father, Roy (Michael Shannon), who goes on the run to protect his young son, Alton (Jaeden Lieberher), a boy with mysterious powers that even Roy himself cannot comprehend.

What starts as a race from religious extremists and local law enforcement quickly escalates to a nationwide manhunt involving the highest levels of the Federal Government. Risking everything, Roy is committed to helping Alton reach his ultimate purpose, whatever that might be and whatever it costs, in a story that takes audiences on a perilous journey from Texas to the Florida coast, while exploring the bonds of love and trust, and the nature of faith.

MIDNIGHT SPECIAL stars Oscar nominee Michael Shannon (“99 Homes,” “Revolutionary Road”), Joel Edgerton (“Black Mass”), Kirsten Dunst (TV’s “Fargo”), Adam Driver (“Star Wars: The Force Awakens”), Jaeden Lieberher (“St. Vincent”) and Oscar nominee Sam Shepard (“The Right Stuff,” “August Osage County”).

Jeff Nichols (“Mud,” “Take Shelter”) directed the film from his own screenplay. It is produced by Oscar nominee Sarah Green (“The Tree of Life,” “Mud”) and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones (the “Insidious” films, “Sinister”), who previously collaborated with Nichols on his critically acclaimed thriller TAKE SHELTER.

Also reuniting with Nichols behind the scenes were director of photography Adam Stone (“Mud,” “Take Shelter”), production designer Chad Keith (“Take Shelter”) and editor Julie Monroe (“Mud”).

David Wingo (MUD, TAKE SHELTER, MAGGIE) composed the brilliant score.

The film opens on March 18, 2016.

2441_FP_MLUN_DS_S1600P0530_L_0128_V02R

Illumination has captivated audiences all over the world with the beloved hits Despicable Me, Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, Despicable Me 2 and Minions, now the second-highest-grossing animated movie in history.  Following the release of The Secret Life of Pets in summer 2016, Illumination presents SING at the holidays. Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Seth MacFarlane, Scarlett Johansson, John C. Reilly, Taron Egerton and Tori Kelly star in a musical comedy about finding the shining star that lives inside all of us.

Check out the first trailer now.

Set in a world like ours but entirely inhabited by animals, Sing stars Buster Moon (Academy Award winner Matthew McConaughey), a dapper Koala who presides over a once-grand theater that has fallen on hard times.  Buster is an eternal optimist—okay, maybe a bit of a scoundrel—who loves his theater above all and will do anything to preserve it.  Now facing the crumbling of his life’s ambition, he has one final chance to restore his fading jewel to its former glory by producing the world’s greatest singing competition.

Five lead contestants emerge: A mouse (Seth MacFarlane) who croons as smoothly as he cons, a timid teenage elephant (Tori Kelly) with an enormous case of stage fright, an overtaxed mother (Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon) run ragged tending a litter of 25 piglets, a young gangster gorilla (Taron Egerton) looking to break free of his family’s felonies, and a punk-rock porcupine (Scarlett Johansson) struggling to shed her arrogant boyfriend and go solo.  Each animal arrives under Buster’s marquee believing that this is their shot to change the course of their life.

Featuring more than 85 hit songs, SING is written and directed by Garth Jennings (Son of Rambow, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy) and produced by Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy.  Released by Universal Pictures, SING arrives in theaters for the holiday season on December 21, 2016.

This big-hearted comedy invites us all to enjoy the laughter, tears and love as three generations come together in the week leading up to Mother’s Day.

Motherhood of many forms is celebrated in the new footage, including Jason Sudeikis as a Mr. Mom-type who connects with Sandy.

Timothy Olyphant, Sarah Chalke, Jon Lovitz, and Britt Robertson also make appearances.
