First Trailer Has Landed For PROJECT HAIL MARY Starring Ryan Gosling, Directed By Phil Lord And Chris Miller

“I put the ‘not’ in astronaut.” Ryan Gosling, who previously played astronaut Neil Armstrong in 2018’s FIRST MAN, suits up again in the brand new trailer for the highly anticipated PROJECT HAIL MARY.

Based on the novel by Andy Weir and directed by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller, with a screenplay by Drew Goddard, PROJECT HAIL MARY is in theaters March 20, 2026.

Science teacher Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling) wakes up on a spaceship light years from home with no recollection of who he is or how he got there. As his memory returns, he begins to uncover his mission: solve the riddle of the mysterious substance causing the sun to die out. He must call on his scientific knowledge and unorthodox ideas to save everything on Earth from extinction… but an unexpected friendship means he may not have to do it alone.

Both Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (their first film since 22 Jump Street) won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature for “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” in 2019. Goddard wrote Cloverfield (2008), World War Z (2013), and The Martian (2015), the latter earning him a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. In 2011, he made his directorial debut with The Cabin in the Woods.

In 2018, Deadline reported Andy Weir’s ‘Artemis’ was also being adapted for the big screen based on, “the novel by The Martian author Andy Weir that Phil Lord & Chris Miller will direct.” In 2017, Salon said of the novel, “Hell Yes, ‘Artemis’ should be made into a movie.”

James Gunn’s SUPERMAN Is Just 2 Weeks Away And He’s The Hero We Need Now More Than Ever!

Look Up!

In 14 days, director James Gunn’s SUPERMAN flies into theaters, but right now, the marketing campaign is soaring to new heights. In Hollywood, on La Brea and Beverly, you can catch a glimpse of the latest billboard for Big Blue.

And the global tour isn’t stopping either. From recent stopovers in Brazil and the Philippines, Gunn had a vision to do something unusual in the genre today: to create a story about doing good. Being good.

“The movie is about a character who is purely good in a world that isn’t good, and I think that’s something we don’t really see. Everybody’s an anti-hero, and I think that when characters seem good, there is a tendency to kind of make fun of them and see them as goofy. But this character is noble and he’s beautiful, and he’s not always right and he makes mistakes. I get emotional because I what this movie is about is—why do we love Superman so much? Is it because he can punch planets or pick up skyscrapers? I don’t think it is. I think it’s because of his innate goodness and, and his humanity, even though he’s an alien, and the fact that he is okay with being pollyannaish, it’s okay that he’s being optimistic, it’s okay that he’s vulnerable.”

Including a lot of other elements from the Superman universe, Gunn says, “I thought this movie could be different in that it could have all those sort of magical realism elements of the fantasy of Superman—flying dogs and giant kaiju and robot helpers and all of these fun things— while keeping the character himself more grounded. Superman is real and rooted in his personality and his relationship to the other characters, in a plot that was dictated by his choices, not by some external forces. The script was so fun to write because of that. It was also very different from anything I had ever written before. Sure, it has some science fiction elements, but I think in some ways, Superman is more grounded than the Guardians films because at its essence, it’s not a comedy. But it’s also more fantastical in certain strange ways. It’s more like a comic book. Really going there with all these big things like the Grant Morrison All-Star Superman does.”

The stars of the film were on Jimmy Kimmel Live, with guest host Diego Luna, to talk about the movie.

Corenswet says of the iconic Superman suit, “the first time I saw a glimpse in the monitor after we had shot something and I saw a little bit of playback of me in the suit, on camera, I thought, “That looks pretty freaking cool.” And then when we did the publicity photo shoot, I think that was the first time that I said like, “Oh, this is… yeah, it’s an iconic look.” Those pictures give you a different sense of how it looks, and you’re just as a loss for words.”

Did you know Krypto is based on Gunn’s own rescue dog, Ozu, who has one ear up and one ear down.

To celebrate SUPERMAN, in theaters July 11, Warner Bros. Discovery is covering pet adoption fees July 1-10 at Best Friends locations and select network partners only. That means you can be a hero like Superman™ and adopt your best friend for free. Just like Superman has Krypto the Superdog, your sidekick is out there ready to fly with you on all of life’s adventures.

When animals don’t have homes, they’re at risk of being killed. In fact, a dog or cat is killed in America’s shelters every 90 seconds just because they don’t have a safe place to call home. But there are so many ways you can help change that. https://bestfriends.org/how-you-can-help/superman

F1 – Review

Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes in Apple Original Films’ “F1® The Movie,” a Warner Bros. Pictures release. Photo Credit: Scott Garfield. Courtesy Warner Bros. Pictures / Apple Original Films. Copyright: © 2025 Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. All Rights Reserved.

If you are looking for a perfect summer movie, F1 maybe your ticket. Little is more exciting to watch than F1 racing, even if you know nothing about the sport. F1 THE MOVIE stars Brad Pitt and delivers all the exciting race sequences your could want while also taking you inside that racing world, with footage shot at actual F1 races, in a taut, stylish action tale. Directed by Joseph Kosinki, who helmed TOP GUN: MAVERICK, F1 has all the excitement and thrills of that film but adds in a more polished visual style.

Race cars were born with automobiles themselves, and F1 is the highest-level, most exciting, and classiest form of auto racing, with custom-built and designed cars from the likes of Ferrari, and raced on courses built on streets of famous cities around the world. Movies have a strong tradition of F1 auto racing movies, with several thrilling classics like GRAND PRIX, RUSH and SENNA, and I confess I’ve been hooked on movies about F1 auto racing movies ever since seeing one as a kid. F1 is the elite, international level of auto racing, a whole different world from the Indy 500 and other NASCAR racing, which uses customized version of production cars and simple oval tracks. F1’s custom-build racing cars are designed for racing only, stripped down to the bare but high-powered racing essentials, and with races on twisty, complicated courses, calling for a different level of driving skill.

Filming at actual F1 races, with real drivers and figures from F1 in minor roles, and lead actors doing their own driving gives the film an authentic feel. Fans of F1 will get a charge out of the authenticity but there is no need to know anything about F1 to enjoy this summer-perfect, thrilling movie ride.

Brad Pitt plays Sonny Hayes, who was once a promising F1 driver until a devastating accident cut his career short. Now, Sonny is a freelance driver, picking up race car assignments around the country and living in his RV. Still, Sonny is still has top driving skills, and coming off a win at the Indy 500, he turns down offers to join racing teams, preferring to maintain his wandering lifestyle. When an old teammate, Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), who owns a struggling F1 team called Apex, drops in to recruit Sonny as a driver, Sonny reluctantly agrees to help his old friend. Ruben has a talented young driver with a bright future, Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris) but needs a more experienced driver to help him gain experience.

Pearce is a cocky hotshot from a British working-class immigrant background, and resents having Sonny or anyone else offering advice, so the two of them don’t hit it off. Pearce thinks of Sonny as a has-been or worse,, never-been, because of his short-circuited F1 career, while Hayes describes the young driver as arrogant, hot-headed and with a lot to learn, when talking to Ruben. “Just like you were,” Ruben responses.

Yet the two do find a way to work together as a team, and along with improvements by the team’s car designer, Kate McKenna (Kerry Condon), things start to look up. Meanwhile, Ruben is under pressure from Apex’s board of directors, who are threatening to sell the company if Ruben’s team doesn’t start winning. Ruben’s ally on the board, (Tobias Menzies) keeps Ruben updated on what the board is doing.

The plot is classic Hollywood, the old hand and the young gun, but the script by Ehren Kruger adds plenty of twists and surprises to keep us guessing. Brad Pitt gives an excellent performance in this role as the elusive Sonny, looking good at 61 years old, fit but a bit craggy. His character is independent and crafty, laying down a strategy for winning but rarely sharing his plan with the rest of the team before hand. Sonny and designer Kate McKenna (Kerry Condon), a former aerospace engineer and the only woman auto designer in F1, have romantic sparks as soon as they meet, but they are restrained by their own better professional and personal judgment. Still, that restraint erodes over time, unsurprisingly, and Pitt and Condon work well together, with a playful sexy chemistry in the love interest addition. Brad Pitt and Javier Bardem are fantastic in scenes together, with good supporting work from Damson Idris as the cocky young driver and Tobias Menzies as a smiling, slippery board member.

While Brad Pitt is great, the real star of this show are the racing sequences, which are brilliantly done and thrilling to watch. The action photography by Claudio Miranda is stylish, and the races, which are gripping and even a bit frightening, are further elevated by Hans Zimmer’s score. Both Pitt and Idris did their own driving for the film, and many scenes were shot at actual F1 races and with real F1 drivers making appearances, and with the cooperation of the F1 sporting organization.

It all adds up. F1 is a perfect summer movie, a thrilling tale set in an exciting world of high-octane racing, with top-rate action, fine photography and polished production values, and a first-rate cast in a classic Hollywood tale.

F1 opens Friday, June 27, in theaters.

M3GAN 2.0 – Review

If there’s one thing we’ve learned after more than a hundred years of horror movies, it’s this: you just can’t keep a good “monster” down. That’s certainly true of the “Golden Age” icons, whether it was Frankenstein’s monster or Count Dracula (even in the “Silver Age,” it was a given that Christopher Lee would be back for blood). It may be more certain now in the age of “spin-offs”, prequels, and countless sequel. Plus it also extends to those fiends without flesh, like Chucky of CHILD’S PLAY. And now there’s a “gender flip” on that. Back in 2023 the January film “doldrems”, when often the thriller “dregs” would be dumped into the hungry multiplex, a chiller with a satiric “bite” brought us a new horror “heroine”. Well, she’s baaack! Finally, leaping off the toy shelf and into our nightmares comes M3GAN 2.0.

This one begins far away from the sunny California suburbs of the original. In the Middle East a super secret agent is on a rescue mission, which goes sideways. She’s ignoring all the orders from the US command center, as we learn that the agent is a robot. The story then shifts to an update on the main characters from the first flick. Gemma (Allison Williams) is part of media crusade warning parents about the dangers to their kids in the online world. But she has her own tech company with her loyal staff Tess (Jen Van Epps) and Cole (Brian Jordan Alvarez). Gemma’s still the legal guardian to her niece Cady (Violet McGraw), who channels her trauma into her Aikido lessons. Oh, and Gemma’s in a thriving relationship with a former cyber-security expert, Christian (Aristotle Athari). But what she’s focused on right now is the powerful exo-skeleton they’re trying to sell to the tech billionaire mogul, Alton Appleton (Jemaine Clement). That day doesn’t go well, but the night is even worse, when Gemma and Cady are awakened by home intruders. They’re not burglars, but rather, agents of the FBI. Their commander (Timm Sharp) tells Gemma that they want information about M3gan, whose designs were the basis for their now missing rogue spy assassin Amelia (Ivana Sakhno). After the “guests” leave empty-handed, Gemma is startled when the old M3gan program announces her return via the big screen TV (and other devices). Soon it becomes obvious that the only way to stop Amelia’s path of destruction that leads to a sentient “doomsday” device from the 1980s, is for Gemma and her gang to team up with M3gan. But can the devilish doll ever be trusted despite all the “fail-safe” software that Gemma installs? Will Cady be put in danger once more as they’re drawn into a vast conspiracy that could end the planet? These toys aren’t playin’ around!

Yes, the “old gang” is back together again. And their comic timing is just as sharp two years later. The leader of “the pack” is probably Williams, as the frazzled, but full of steely determination, Gemma. She’s still the protective “mama bear” even as she’s rattling off endless bits of “techno-jargon” while making us root for her as she is often needed to be the “voice of reason” or a real “wet blanket”. Her family “jewel’ is the nearly teenaged McGraw as the sassy and very “pro-active” ( a certain martial arts movie star is her “role model”) Cady. Epps and Jordan are quite the effective loyal but bumbling comedy team as “sidekicks” Tess and Cole. The big comedy MVP might just be Clement as the arrogant, abusive snob Alton, who could perhaps be a satiric riff on a real-life odd uber “tech-bro”. We’re just waiting and yearning for his sneer to be “deleted’ ASAP. Other comic standouts are Sharp as the gung-ho mucho macho spy chef and Athari as the too, too sensitive and empathetic nurturing BF Christian. As for the “big baddie”, Sakhno is the face of pure banal evil, with big expressive but vacant “peepers” as Amelia, the Terminator packaged as a waif-like supermodel. And though she’s a mix of stunt folks, puppetry, and CGi, special kudos should go to M3gan’s main body double Amie Donald and the supplier of her snarky quips, vocalist Jenna Davis.

And this veteran cast is guided by OG director Gerald Johnstone, who also collaborated on the script with Akela Cooper (who created the characters with James Wan). They’ve decided to opt for a completely different tone with this outing, skirting around much of the first one’s horror “vibe” and making a scathing parody of cyber “chaos” and firing lots of parody “salvos’ at the modern action “high concept” blockbusters. While some of the set pieces and sequences take on THE MATRIX, Johnstone and company have some fun with the worlds (and imitators) of JOHN WICK and James Bond (I’m surprised the big secret villain HQ wasn’t inside a dormant volcano). Like ALIENS, it takes on new targets, though the hardcore fans will enjoy a riff on the “meme-fodder” murder-dance of M3gan and her aggressive, snarky “attitude”, guaranteeing that she’ll be a popular costume for the next Halloween and beyond. The doll doesn’t get all the best gags as the evil ‘mastermind’ has a casual “sing song” delivery as he tries to be a “Michael Scott” style cool, friendly boss. Now, as with most of the “straight” action-thrillers it piles on the endings along with the henchmen bodies literally exhausting us with “overkill”. But it’s easy to forgive its over-indulgences when we get a truly uproarious song scene and a “bizarro” AI convention. Sure, the MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE epics need a good drubbing and this demonic doll can certainly dish out the “burns” and cyber “side eye”. If you can handle sharp satire and even sharper weaponry, then you may want to “click”on the upgrade that is M3GAN 2.0. Powering down…

A new era is born. This summer, three years after the Jurassic World trilogy concluded with each film surpassing $1 billion at the global box office, the enduring Jurassic series evolves in an ingenious new direction with Jurassic World Rebirth.

Anchored by iconic action superstar Scarlett Johansson, Emmy and SAG nominee Jonathan Bailey and two-time Oscar® winner Mahershala Ali, this action-packed new chapter sees an extraction team race to the most dangerous place on Earth, an island research facility for the original Jurassic Park, inhabited by the worst of the worst that were left behind.

Also starring acclaimed international stars Rupert Friend and Manuel Garcia-Rulfothe film is directed by dynamic visualist Gareth Edwards (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) from a script by original Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp.

Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures across land, sea and air within that tropical biosphere hold, in their DNA, the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.

Academy Award® nominee Johansson plays skilled covert operations expert Zora Bennett, contracted to lead a skilled team on a top-secret mission to secure the genetic material. When Zora’s operation intersects with a civilian family whose boating expedition was capsized by marauding aquatic dinos, they all find themselves stranded on a forbidden island that had once housed an undisclosed research facility for Jurassic Park. There, in a terrain populated by dinosaurs of vastly different species, they come face-to-face with a sinister, shocking discovery that has been hidden from the world for decades.

Ali is Duncan Kincaid, Zora’s most trusted team member; Critics Choice and Olivier Award winner Jonathan Bailey (WickedBridgerton) plays paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis; Emmy nominee Rupert Friend (HomelandObi-Wan Kenobi) appears as Big Pharma representative Martin Krebs and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Lincoln LawyerMurder on the Orient Express) plays Reuben Delgado, the father of the shipwrecked civilian family.

Jurassic World Rebirth is directed by BAFTA winner Edwards from a script by Koepp (War of the Worlds), based on characters created by Michael Crichton. The film is produced by Oscar® nominee Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley, both longtime Jurassic franchise producers and of last summer’s blockbuster, Twisters. The film is executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Denis L. Stewart and Jim Spencer.
