IMAX and Sony Pictures Entertainment have announced that Underworld Awakening, the highly anticipated fourth installment of the stunning vampire action franchise starring Kate Beckinsale, and the first to be released in the immersive IMAX® 3D format, will open this Friday, January 20. The film will open in about 255 IMAX® digital theatres domestically, simultaneously with the film’s wide North American release. The movie will also open in approximately 90 IMAX digital theatres internationally, of which at least 51 will open by this Friday, with remaining runs to debut over the coming weeks. Additional playdates will be added as pending bookings are confirmed.
