With the follow-up to ‘Halloween’ just a few weeks away, and with ‘The Haunted World of El Superbeasto’ on its way to DVD shelves next month, it seems Rob Zombie’s career as a filmmaker is in full effect.   Today, thanks to the heads up by /Film, we have the teaser trailer for ‘El Superbeasto.’

Check it out:

This looks like a nice piece of insanity is headed for our TV screens.   It features the voices of Rosario Dawson, Paul Giamatti, Danny Trejo, Sheri Moon Zombie, Clint Howard, Brian Posehn, Bill Moseley, Sid Haig, and Dee Wallace.   It hits video stores on September 22nd.

Also in the news today is this bit of information Zombie dropped while speaking with Shock Till You Drop.

The plan is to go on tour for a while then finally come back and make Tyrannosaurus Rex. Because that got shoved off to the side and that was a film I really wanted to make. It’s like Rejects on steroids.

The plan is that Zombie finishes up the ‘Halloween II’ promo train, release a new album near the end of October or beginning of November, then go on tour for a bit.   Once finished with that, he plans to dive into the world of ‘Tyrannosaurus Rex,’ which is being billed as ‘Raging Bull’ meets ‘The Road Warrior.’   So, this time next year, production is looking to have begun on the film, and we could be looking at a release date sometime very late 2010 or early 2011.

Rob Zombie opens up about ‘Tyrannosaurus Rex’

We have talked about ‘Tyrannosaurus Rex’ a few times before but we have never been able to give you any information outside of speculation. Well finally Mr Rob Zombie gave up some info to MTV about the flick:

“It’s not a horror movie,† explained Zombie in an exclusive interview with MTV from the set of “Halloween 2.† “It’s like an incredibly violent ’70s action movie. I can’t think of anything that’s like it. Just a gritty, gnarly, violent movie. But it’s not a horror movie in any way.†

“It’s sort of like a cross between that Dustin Hoffman movie ‘Straight Time’ mixed with ‘Raging Bull’†¦ sort of,† said Zombie. “I want to make a serious movie about this washed-up prizefighter who’s got this self-destructive tendency, and he comes out of prison and the only way he knows how to survive is by fighting.

He continued, “But his boxing career is over so he gets caught up in this sort of underground fight ring. But it’s all set in the ’70s, so it’s not like an ‘Ultimate Fighting’ type thing. It’s more like just nasty. It’s like if ‘Every Which Way But Loose’ was a serious movie. How about that? Minus the orangutan. [laughs]†

Yes! Rob Zombie finally stepping outside of the horror genre to do something more along the style of a grindhouse exploitation movie, that is freaking exciting.

I still really hope the main character is going to be played by Danny Trejo, that would make this news even better.

More new ‘T-Rex’ concept art from Rob Zombie…

Rob Zombie apparently had a little ‘Smackdown’ fever as his newest bit of concept art for the much-anticipated and seemingly still far off movie ‘Tyrannosaurus Rex’ boasts T-Rex in a no holds bar wrestle-mania  move against one big ugly wrestler dude. All I can say is that with all the artwork he’s doing, it sure is setting the movie up for big expectations. If it does stay true to the images Zombie is putting out there, it ought to be one helluva awesome ride!

More ‘Tyrannosaurus Rex’ concept art …

This is the 3rd installment of the concept art for the newest Rob Zombie projected called ‘Tyrannosaurus Rex’ and this is by far my favorite of the 3.

Not that we ever had any doubt about how kick ass his projects would be, this makes us even more excited. I also still think that is supposed to be Danny Trejo, and perhaps Sherri Moon?

New Rob Zombie poster …

As most of you know I am a crazed fan for a few directors, and one of them happens to be Rob Zombie. He just released a new teaser poster for his new movie ‘Tyrannosaurus Rex’. The main guy here look a lot like Danny Trejo, and that would make me giddy like a school girl. Check it out below(thanks to ShockTillYouDrop.com):
