Today Paramount Pictures released a brand new featurette for TOP GUN MAVERICK. Go behind the scenes to see the action come to life in the pilot training video.

After more than thirty years of service as one of the Navy’s top aviators, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him. When he finds himself training a detachment of TOPGUN graduates for a specialized mission the likes of which no living pilot has ever seen, Maverick encounters Lt. Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), call sign: “Rooster,” the son of Maverick’s late friend and Radar Intercept Officer Lt. Nick Bradshaw, aka “Goose”.

Facing an uncertain future and confronting the ghosts of his past, Maverick is drawn into a confrontation with his own deepest fears, culminating in a mission that demands the ultimate sacrifice from those who will be chosen to fly it.

From Director Joseph Kosinski, the film also features Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Charles Parnell, Bashir Salahuddin, Monica Barbaro, Jay Ellis, Danny Ramirez, Greg Tarzan Davis with Ed Harris.

GOONIES, FERRIS BUEHLER, GREASE and BEETLEJUICE at The Skyview Drive-in in Belleville, IL April 3rd and 4th

Let’s turn on the juice and see what shakes loose!”

A weekend reprieve from movie theater withdrawal! The Skyview Drive-in in Belleville (5700 N Belt W, Belleville, IL 62226) is planning to be open on April 3rd and 4th for an ’80s retro line-up.

Screen #1 – The Goonies PG 8:00 and BEETLEJUICE PG 10:05
Screen #2 – Grease PG13 8:00 and Ferris Buehler’s Day Off PG 10:00

They will be the only movie theatre that is open in the Metro-East. They will be making some changes to our normal operations to keep our customers, employees and families safe and healthy.

The Skyview will be parking your vehicles with only one between the poles to keep everyone a safe distance from everyone else. The playground will be closed because there is no way to keep the kids 6′ apart.

Since the concession stand is carry-out, they will be allowed to be open. Only 50 people can be in the stand at one time and you should stay 6′ away from other customers.

The Skyview will take extraordinary measures to assure that all hard surfaces are cleaned often and the bathrooms will be sanitized before opening and during the evening.

The Skyview plans to play Trolls World Tour on April 10th but after that, the movies are hard to predict. They will figure out how to keep movies on the screen.

There are five reserved spots on each screen available for an additional $10 per vehicle.

Send an email to skyviewdrivein@att.net and tell them three things – which night you want to come, which movies you want to see, and whether you will be parking at and orange pole (vehicle taller than 5’2″) or a white one (vehicle 5’2″ or shorter).

“I just want to say hi to my girlfriend, OK? Yo, Adrian! It’s me, Rocky!”

Everyone knows that Art Hill, in front of the St. Louis Art Museum, is a great place to go sledding in the winter. But did you know it’s a great place to see movies in July?

Their line-up for their annual Friday night film series has been announced and it’s sure to draw thousands. The We Are Movie Geeks gang always goes to these, so if you wanna hang with the cool kids, you should go too. It’s free and they set up a big screen at the bottom of the hill. There are food trucks and beer and wine for sale. You can even go dine in the museum’s restaurant before the show if you got money to burn. If you’re a museum member, you can show your membership card and get free popcorn and ice cream (I did that last year even though my card was expired!). Of course, you can bring a cooler with your own food and drinks as well. It’s a lot of fun! Bring your dog! The movies start at 9 but get there early! Thousands of people show up, especially if the weather is nice, and close parking is scarce. There’s live pre-show music and the people-watching can be entertaining. The annual Food Truck Fest, presented by Sauce Magazine will include a selection of food trucks parked on the west side of the Museum and along Fine Arts Drive. Bring your appetite! Before the movie starts, make sure to tap into your creative side. Each week, there will be an Art Lab for adults complete with an instructor and all the materials you need to create your own Film Series masterpiece.

Here’s the line-up for this summer and the corresponding Facebook invites:

July 8th – TOP GUN As students at the United States Navy’s elite fighter weapons school compete to be best in the class, one daring young pilot learns a few things from a civilian instructor that are not taught in the classroom.

Cruise to revive Maverick for Top Gun 2

top gun2

Tom Cruise is in talks with the studios to bring back Pete “Maverick” Mitchell  for Top Gun 2. 22 years after the original debuted in 1986, Cruise will have his character Maverick teaching at Top Gun and dealing with a cocky female fighter pilot. Hey Tom, has she “lost that loving feeling?” I guess we will all find out if he can smile and persuade a studio to sign a check to make this one. What do you guys think? Will a sequel detract from this hugely successful film?
