Footage and photos of Ryan O’Neal and Ali MacGraw receiving their stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame February 12th will be provided immediately following the virtual ceremony and will be accessible HERE

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of LOVE STORY, actors Ryan O’Neal and Ali MacGraw will be honored with stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the first virtual double-star ceremony in history on February 12, 2021, just in time for Valentine’s Day. O’Neal’s star will be between MacGraw’s and his real-life love, Farrah Fawcett.

O’Neal and MacGraw both received Oscar nominations for their starring roles in LOVE STORY, which was nominated for seven Academy Awards®, including Best Picture. The film became a cultural phenomenon, earning over $100 million at the domestic box office and becoming the top-grossing movie of the year. In 2002, the AFI named it as #9 on its list of the 100 greatest love stories of all time. A timeless classic about the highs and lows of young love, the film remains as impactful as ever, 50 years after its original release. Newly restored for its anniversary, LOVE STORY is available in a limited-edition Blu-ray with collectible packaging, commentary by director Arthur Hiller, a look at the film’s impact, and more.

William Holden in WILD ROVERS Available on Blu-ray From Warner Archives

Great news for fans of offbeat 70s westerns! William Holden in WILD ROVERS will soon be available on Blu-ray From Warner Archives. Pre-order information can be found HERE.

Lifelong ranch hand Ross Bodine decides cowpunching is no kind of life. So he and a raw cowboy half his age rob a bank to get the cash each needs to improve his lot. An indignant posse is soon in pursuit. Filmmaker Blake Edwards made his name with The Pink Panther and other comedies, but he also showed great skill in other genres with the thriller Experiment in Terror, the drama Days of Wine and Roses and this nuanced paean to the West. In performances perfectly matching Edwards’ balance of rowdy comedy and hardscrabble period realism, William Holden and Ryan O’Neal play the fugitive saddlebums, with Holden drawing special praise. “As he grows older, he grows better like a great old wine. All the reverberations from the previous roles are beginning to sound” (Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times).

Blake Edwards directs William Holden and Ryan O’Neal in this anti-Western about two cowboys who quit cattle-ranching and take up bank-robbing. Karl Malden plays the offended cattle rancher who sends his two sons (Tom Skerritt and Joe Don Baker) out to bring the two cowboys to justice. Heavily edited by the studio in its initial release, this edition brings you the reconstructed ‘roadshow’ version of the film, with original overture and exit music intact, as Edwards intended the film to be seen. Edwards’ use of wide-open widescreen along with Philip Lathrop’s scintillating cinematography are rendered as never before in this new 1080p presentation that truly brings Edward’s epic roadshow and Holden’s masterful performance home. SPECIAL FEATURES: “The Movie Makers” Featurette; Theatrical Trailer (HD). 16×9 Letterbox

I first went to see director Peter Bogdanovich’s WHAT’S UP DOC? with my parents when I was 10 years old at the Esquire Theater (right around the corner from the Hi-Pointe!) back in ’72. We as a family had an uproariously good time (at least I think we did – that was a long time ago). Ryan O’Neal, as the poker-faced, straight-laced, hen-pecked, scholarly authority on rocks and musicality plays Howard Bannister, the perfect straight man to Barbra Streisand’s wandering, wise-cracking, lustful, but solidly grounded Judy Maxwell, the Daddy’s Little Girl with the voice of an angel. Madeline Kahn plays the overbearing fiancee whose obsessive organizational skills explain why even Howard is so irresistibly taken with Judy. These three characters — and the four identical suitcases that set them on the wackiest adventure of their lives — make for one of the funniest screwball comedies of the ‘70s. Be sure to listen, in one of the best scenes of the film early on, to the taxi driver who chants after O’Neal: “Yes, Eunice.” It’s pure gold. Do yourself a favor and head over to the Hi-Pointe Saturday morning.

Watch Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett And Natalie Portman In KNIGHT OF CUPS Trailer

knight of cups_1

From Broad Green Pictures, watch the brand new trailer for KNIGHT OF CUPS .

The cast includes Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Natalie Portman, Brian Dennehy, Antonio Banderas, Freida Pinto, Wes Bentley, Isabel Lucas, Teresa Palmer, Imogen Poots, Armin Mueller-Stahl and the voice of Ben Kingsley.

Earlier this year, KNIGHT OF CUPS had its World Premiere in the Competition Programme at the 65th Berlin Film Festival. Watch the press conference here.

Synopsis:

Rick is a slave to the Hollywood system. He is addicted to success but simultaneously despairs at the emptiness of his life. He is at home in a world of illusions but seeks real life. Like the tarot card of the title, Rick is easily bored and needs outside stimulation. But the Knight of Cups is also an artist, a romantic and an adventurer.

In Terrence Malick’s seventh film a gliding camera once again accompanies a tormented hero on his search for meaning. Once again a voiceover is laid over images which also seek their own authenticity. And once again Malick seems to put the world out of joint. His symphonic flow of images contrasts cold, functional architecture with the ageless beauty of nature. Rick’s internal monologue coalesces with the voices of the women who cross his path, women who represent different principles in life: while one lives in the real world, the other embodies beauty and sensuality. Which path will Rick choose? In the city of angels and the desert that surrounds it, will he find his own way?

Terrence Malick’s KNIGHT OF CUPS opens March 4, 2016.
