Watch The Brand New LET ME IN Trailer From Comic-Con

MTV has posted this new trailer for LET ME IN. Let the goosebump induced creepiness begin!

Synopsis:

Based on the acclaimed and award winning Swedish novel and film, “Låt den Rätte Komma In,” LET ME IN is the story of Owen, a twelve year old boy who is feeling increasingly isolated and alone. Enduring the bitter divorce between his parents, and being the target of relentless bullies at school, the friendless and helpless Owen secretly spends his time entertaining thoughts of revenge against his tormentors.

When a mysterious young girl and her father move into the complex, Owen finds an unlikely friend in Abby. There’s something different about Abby… she only ever seems to come out in the dark of night. But as the two get to know each other in the building playground, their friendship deepens, affording each of them the unconditional love and acceptance they crave.

When Owen finally learns just exactly what makes Abby so mysterious, their devotion and bond become unbreakable.

From Hammer and Overture Films, LET ME IN will be in theaters on October 1, 2010. Become a fan on Facebook and follow it on Twitter.

THE CRAZIES Trailer Hits

The trailer for Overture’s remake of George Romero’s ‘The Crazies’ has been released.  You can check it out in all its HD glory over at Apple, or you can check out the embedded version right here.

Let’s get to that, shall we:

All in all, this looks to be a pretty nice, small-town, horror movie.  Romero’s original is a forgotten classic, probably the best work the director did outside of the “…of the Dead” series.  You have to wonder how smart the reactive use of Gary Jules’ take on “Mad World” is.  Seriously, Donnie Darko was eight years ago.  Surely, we can find a different, creepy and melodic song to use over images of horror.

But that really has nothing to do with the film itself.  Speaking of which, the film’s official website has gone live, as well.

‘The Crazies’ is set for release on February 26th, 2010.  Gary Jules’ “Mad World” will stop being used around 2352.

‘Let the Right One In’ remake still called ‘Let the Right One In’

Last week, we, along with most news sites on the web, announced that the Matt Reeves-directed remake of ‘Let the Right One In’ would be going through a name change, and that the new film would be titled ‘Let Me In’.   Well, as much as I hate to say it, we were all wrong.

Bloody Disgusting looked into the film titled ‘Let Me In’, and, apparently, it is not the remake to ‘Let the Right One In’.   They checked with Overture Films who informed them that not only is the script still being worked on but the film will, in fact, be titled ‘Let the Right One In’.   Also, the news that the remake would begin shooting in May was false, as well.   As Overture puts it, it would be ridiculous to shoot a Winter movie in May.   Production on the remake has not been scheduled yet.

That brings up a new question.   What is ‘Let Me In’?   I guess we can chalk this one up as a victory for fans of the original film, although victory is such a relative term when you’re discussing remakes in general.

Radha Mitchell Joins ‘Crazies’ Cast

Just because there isn’t enough remake talk in the news lately, Radha Mitchell has joined Timothy Olyphant in Overture Films’ remake of George Romero’s ‘The Crazies’. Â  For those uneducated about ‘The Crazies’, it’s the story of a biological weapon unleashed on a small, Pensylvania town that causes insanity in those affected.

Release in 1973, the original was basically Romero doing another zombie movie without really having to do a zombie movie. Â  In my humble opinion, it is his best film outside of the ‘Living Dead’ films.

The remake is being directed by Breck Eisner (‘Sahara’) and is scheduled for a September 25th release.
