Miley Cyrus Stars In New SO UNDERCOVER Trailer

Here’s the new trailer and poster for the teen comedy SO UNDERCOVER! The film stars Miley Cyrus (THE LAST SONG, LOL), Jeremy Piven (TV’s Entourage), Josh Bowman (TV’s Revenge) and Kelly Osbourne. Cyrus stars as MOLLY, a private investigator who chose to leave high school to work with her father (Mike O’Malley), a former police officer. Together their days are filled with busting cheating spouses and taking down petty thieves. However, her life unexpectedly changes when she is approached by an FBI agent (Jeremy Piven) to go undercover in the one place they’re unable to infiltrate – and a world she knows nothing about… A university sorority.

Cyrus has a new CD dropping soon and recently visited The Tonight Show with Jay Leno with a cute, cropped hairdo.

During a major makeover, Molly physically transforms herself from the tough, streetwise investigator, to a very affluent sorority girl BROOKE STONEBRIDGE. However, Molly also has to learn how to “walk the walk” and “talk the talk” to keep her cover for her mission: protect the life of sorority sister ALEX PATRONE (Lauren McKnight) whose father plans to testify against some very dangerous people.

Surveillance proves nearly impossible for outsider Molly, who struggles to adjust to university culture, her new friends, and her new assignment, which includes NICHOLAS (Josh Bowman) – a strong, self confident guy who may have taken a piece of Molly’s heart, if only he weren’t possibly the hit man in disguise.

With multiple suspects on her list and the trial fast approaching, Molly must navigate a minefield of double crosses as well as the pageantry and chaos of a sorority sister’s social life. Through her journey, Molly must protect Alex while discovering that not everyone is who he or she appears to be – including herself.

LOL Trailer Stars Demi Moore And Miley Cyrus

In a world connected by Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, Miley Cyrus stars as a teen girl navigating through the peer pressures of high school romance and friendship, while dodging her protective mother (Demi Moore), in Lionsgate and Mandate Pictures new trailer for this fresh coming-of-age comedy LOL.

An authentic story that perfectly captures coming of age in today’s digital world, LOL is a remake of the hugely popular 2008 French film LOL (Laughing Out Loud)®. Starting a new year of high school, Lola (Cyrus), (or “Lol,” as her friends call her), works to find the right balance between family, school, friends and romance. Broken-hearted by her ex, Lol’s world is soon turned upside down when she is surprised to find her best friend, Kyle (Douglas Booth), a musician in an up and coming rock band, could possibly be the love of her life. In her quest towards independence, self-identity and young adulthood, Lol discovers that while Facebook “status” is easy to change; true relationships are worth the effort.

LOL is directed by Lisa Azuelos, who also wrote and directed the original film. The screenplay is by Lisa Azuelos & Kamir Aïnouz, based on the film “LOL (Laughing Out Loud) ®.” Headlined by Miley Cyrus and Demi Moore, the movie features a strong ensemble cast including Ashley Greene, Golden Globe® nominated actor Thomas Jane, Jay Hernandez, Hollywood legend Marlo Thomas, Nora Dunn, Gina Gershon, Fisher Stevens and Austin Nichols.  The cast also includes Douglas Booth, Adam Sevani, George Finn and Ashley Hinshaw, along with newcomers Lina Esco and Tanz Watson. The Weinstein Company Goes SO UNDERCOVER With Miley Cyrus

Acquires U.S. Distribution Rights From Exclusive Media Group To Action Comedy Directed by Tom Vaughan

The Weinstein Company (TWC) announced today that it has acquired from Exclusive Media Group (Exclusive) the U.S. distribution rights to SO UNDERCOVER, an action comedy starring Miley Cyrus (THE LAST SONG, “Hannah Montana,” LOL).  The film, which was fully financed by Exclusive, is directed by Tom Vaughan (WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS), with a screenplay co-written by Allan Loeb (WALL STREET 2: MONEY NEVER SLEEPS, 21) and Steven Pearl. Along with Exclusive, the film is being produced by Loeb and Pearl through their company, Scarlet Fire Entertainment and by Tish Cyrus (THE LAST SONG, LOL). Executive Producers are Jodi Zuckerman-Weiner (HEARTS IN ATLANTIS) for Cyrus’ production company, Hope Town Entertainment, and Rob Cowan (THE CRAZIES).  SO UNDERCOVER co-stars Jeremy Piven (“Entourage”), Mike O’Malley (CEDAR RAPIDS, “Glee”) and Kelly Osbourne (“The Osbournes”).  The announcement was jointly made by TWC Co-Chairman Harvey Weinstein, TWC COO David Glasser and Exclusive Co-Chairmen Guy East and Nigel Sinclair.

“We’re excited to be working with Miley Cyrus as she transitions from child phenomenon to grown-up star.  She’s got charisma and talent to burn, and SO UNDERCOVER shows her to be a deft comedic actress,” said Glasser.  “This deal is a testament to the savvy instincts of Peter Lawson and his acquisitions team in scouting and securing those projects that will enhance TWC’s release slate.”

“We are thrilled to know that the film is now in great hands with Harvey Weinstein and his amazingly talented team at The Weinstein Company,” said Sinclair and East.  Exclusive Films International (EFI), the International sales and marketing arm of Exclusive, is handling worldwide sales of this title and has sold most major foreign territories prior to and while at the European Film Market in Berlin last week.

The deal was negotiated for TWC by Glasser, Peter Lawson, Executive Vice President, Acquisitions, and Laine Kline, Executive Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs; and for Exclusive Media Group by Andy Mayson, Managing Director and CFO, and CAA, which also arranged financing for the film.

SYNOPSIS – SO UNDERCOVER

When the FBI hires her to go undercover at a college sorority, Molly Morris (Miley Cyrus) must transform herself from a tough, streetwise private investigator to a refined, sophisticated university girl to help protect the daughter of a one-time Mobster.  With several suspects on her list, Molly unexpectedly discovers that not everyone is who they appear to be, including herself.

The film will be released in October 2011 when schools are back in session.

Final Poster for ‘Bolt’ Released

The final poster for Disney’s big, Thanksgiving film, ‘Bolt’, has been released. Take a gander at it, and check the film out on November 21.

All in all, this poster is nothing special. Just a couple of characters Photoshopped in front of a big, red background, which is basically the teaser poster reduxed. I also find it funny that Disney is really pushing that Digital 3D animation. Probably something to distract you from noticing that PIXAR is nowhere to be found.

Walt Disney “Rolls” Out Their New Film “BOLT” Across America!

Walt Disney Pictures kicked off their publicity campaign for the new animated picture “Bolt” with the “Bolt Across America” Tour. The cross country tour is a fund raising campaign to benefit the ASPCA. They are doing this by having 4 “Bolt” super-fans roll a giant hamster ball across the country. Didn’t Jake Gyllenhaal already do that in “Bubble Boy”? The tour stopped in St. Louis last weekend as part of the Tour De Missouri Bike Race. They rolled the ball down 13th street to the Soldiers Memorial plaza where they performed a few tricks and honored   4 canine teams representing the department for their service as real heroes in the community.
