New Trailer for Michael Bay’s “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” Downloaded Over 6 Million Times in First 24 Hours on iTunes Movie Trailers, Breaking Previous Record

HOLLYWOOD, CA (May 6, 2011) – The new trailer for Michael Bay’s TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON has been downloaded more than 6 million times in its first 24 hours on iTunes Movie Trailers (http://www.apple.com/trailers), becoming the most-viewed trailer in the site’s history.

The trailer, which recently debuted exclusively on iTunes Movie Trailers, gives fans a visually stunning sneak peak at this summer’s highly anticipated “Transformers: Dark of the Moon.”

Paramount Pictures has launched the trailer for this summer’s highly anticipated movie TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON. (via Apple)

Wow, just as with the previous two TRANSFORMERS films, major Bay goosebumps – again! This WILL be my favorite film of the summer – I’m saying that now!! Really can’t wait to see it in IMAX too.

Check out these new billboards of Bumblebee, Shockwave and Optimus Prime for TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON. Whatever carnage is going on in the background of these mighty autobots, one thing is for sure, Earth Goes Dark in about 60+ Days!

The last time we saw new footage from the film was in the the tv spot that aired during the Super Bowl. Director Michael Bay recently posted over on his blog, Shoot For The Edit, “Our trailer comes out next (this) week on Fast (Five) and a bunch of other stuff. 3D trailer comes out on the next 3D movie out which is Pirates (Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides).”

The Autobots Bumblebee, Ratchet, Ironhide and Sideswipe led by Optimus Prime, are back in action, taking on the evil Decepticons, who are determined to avenge their defeat in 2009′s ‘Transformers Revenge of the Fallen’. In this new movie, the Autobots and Decepticons become involved in a perilous space race between the U.S. and Russia, and once again human Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) has to come to the aid of his robot friends. There’s new characters too, including a new villain in the form of Shockwave, a longtime ‘Transformers’ character who rules Cybertron while the Autobots and Decepticons battle it out on Earth.

TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON Optimus Prime Billboard; Linkin Park & Steve Jablonsky Talk Film’s Music

From Paramount Pictures, have a look at the new Optimus Prime Billboard for TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON. Click HERE for HUGE version. Of the 3rd and final film of the franchise, director Michael Bay told the Huffington Post, “there’s a more involved robot story…you learn a lot more about the hierarchy, more about the history and what they’ve had on Cybertron.” I think the countdown to July 1st has begun!

Bay recently posted this update over on his blog:

The post process is going very well – way better then ROTF. We have massive shots but we got going 6 months earlier on this film then the last. We jump very hard and fast on post in this film.

It really is looking special. The 3D will the best 3D of any movie this year.

New Photo Of Shia LaBeouf And Rosie Huntington-Whiteley In TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON

In March, Entertainment Weekly’s EW.com broke the news that Leonard Nimoy had joined the cast of the third Transformers film, TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON. In the film, Nimoy – who also voiced Galvatron in 1986’s THE TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE — will voice Sentinel Prime, Optimus Prime’s predecessor who was last seen on the moon in the teaser trailer. (His wrecked body was discovered by Apollo 11 astronauts.)

Michael Bay In Empire Magazine Talks TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON

MichaelBay.com has posted this first look at the cover of Empire Magazine‘s latest issue. In it he talks about the upcoming summer blockbuster TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON.

“Ridley Scott once said, ‘Michael Bay and I have always been shooting in 3D.’ What he meant by that is that I always put background, mid-ground, foreground in all my shots.”

This time around, Bay decided to bring the third dimension in with style, bringing in James Cameron’s tech and team to take the shape-changing robots up a gear:

“Cameron was like, ‘Mike, directors like you have to do 3D or it is going to die.’ I love it when you see these things: ‘The 3D event of the year!’ You see it every movie. There was a recent movie where you go in and before it starts they put up a little plate: ‘These scenes were not shot in 3D.’ Are you kidding? I think our 3D works really well with the robots, the size, the girth, the weight of it… it’s spectacular.”
