(L to r) Odessa Azion, Belmont Cameli, Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino and Ji-young Yoo star in UNTIL DAWN.
One year after her sister Melanie mysteriously disappeared, Clover and her friends head into the remote valley where she vanished in search of answers. Exploring an abandoned visitor center, they find themselves stalked by a masked killer and horrifically murdered one by one…only to wake up and find themselves back at the beginning of the same evening. Trapped in the valley, they’re forced to relive the nightmare again and again – only each time the killer threat is different, each more terrifying than the last. Hope dwindling, the group soon realizes they have a limited number of deaths left, and the only way to escape is to survive until dawn.
Based on the 2015 scary video game, watch the first trailer now.
The story for the video game was written by Larry Fessenden and Graham Reznick, who sought to create the video game equivalent of a slasher film. The development team took inspiration from various sources. These include the movies Evil Dead II and Poltergeist, and video games Heavy Rain, Resident Evil, and Silent Hill. To ensure the game was scary, the team used a galvanic skin response test to measure playtesters’ fear levels when playing it. Jason Graves composed the soundtrack and Guerrilla Games’ Decima game engine was used for the graphics. Several noted actors, including Rami Malek, Hayden Panettiere, Meaghan Martin, Brett Dalton, Jordan Fisher, Nichole Sakura, and Peter Stormare, provided motion capture and voice acting.

Check out the first trailer for director David F. Sandberg’s SHAZAM! FURY OF THE GODS.
The trailer appeared to a hyped up crowd during Warner Bros. Pictures’ theatrical panel in Hall H at the San Diego Comic Con 2022. Zachary Levi, Director David F. Sandberg, Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer and Lucy Liu attended the panel to discuss the sequel set to open in theaters internationally beginning 15 December 2022 and in North America on December 21, 2022.
The most energetic moment of the panel was when Helen Mirren and Rachel Zegler appeared remotely via video, and Mirren celebrated her female costars by saying, “Yay, pussy power!”
During the audience Q&A, Levi was asked if Superman would appear in this movie. “I can neither confirm nor deny allegations such as these,” he replied winkingly. He also fielded the question about a possible “Shazam 3” by encouraging fans to support the sequel, saying, “If you guys go and see this one and you like it.”

All six members of DC Universe’s first superhero family look amazing and WAMG can’t wait to see SHAZAM! FURY OF THE GODS up on the big screen June 2023.
The cast features Zachary Levi as Shazam (alter-ego of teenager Billy Batson, who possesses “the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the stamina of Atlas, the power of Zeus, the courage of Achilles, and the speed of Mercury”), Adam Brody (Freddie Freeman aka Shazam Jr./Captain Marvel Jr.), Grace Fulton (Mary Marvel/Mary Batson, adopted name Mary Bromfield), Meagan Good (Faithe Herman), Ross Butler (Ian Chen), and D. J. Cotrona (Pedro Peña).
Helen Mirren, Rachel Zegler and Lucy Liu, who will play the villains, recently joined the cast.

Look at you, SHAZAM! Trying to give the Ask Harley Quinn Q&A some serious competition for the funniest panel at DC FanDome!
While this brief ten-minute chat may not have had any trailers to share (largely because the SHAZAM! sequel is yet to start shooting), it was still thoroughly amusing, largely due to series star Zachary Levi’s boundless energy and the seemingly unending parade of surprise panelists. Asher Angel! Jack Dylan Grazer! Faithe Herman! Megan Good! David F. Sandberg! Adam Brody! Sinbad!
Well, yes! After all, he starred in SHAZAM!, didn’t he? Lots of people seem to think he did! This raucous, yet utterly adorable crew of panelists discussed what they’d like to see in the SHAZAM! sequel (unicorns and jet packs!) and whether it would be possible to get CGI’d into the Justice League Snyder Cut before revealing the official name of the SHAZAM! sequel—SHAZAM!: Fury of the Gods.
If the movie is even halfway as entertaining as its panel was, you’re going to want to start lining up now. (Well, maybe not. 2022 is still a long way away.)
Ready for another terrifying horror flick? Director David F. Sandberg, the same dude who brought us SHAZAM!, LIGHTS OUT, and ANNABELLE CREATION, has made another short, scary-as-crap, movie during quarantine with his wife Lotta Losten.
Their first was the creepy short, SHADOWED.
The follow up is the frightening NOT ALONE IN HERE.
I love this 6-minute film! How great would it be to see this scary short put before THE CONJURING: THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT – scheduled for a theatrical release on September 11.
The director debuted NOT ALONE IN HERE on Twitter:
Not Alone in Here. @lottalosten and I made another horror short in quarantine. We tried something different this time and it’s our longest short yet at over 6 minutes.
David F. Sandberg (“Annabelle: Creation”) directs New Line Cinema’s “Shazam!,” the origin story that stars Zachary Levi (TV’s “Chuck”) as the titular DC Super Hero, along with Mark Strong (the “Kingsman” movies) in the role of Super-Villain Dr. Thaddeus Sivana, and Asher Angel (TV’s “Andi Mack”) as Billy Batson. Peter Safran (“Aquaman,” “The Conjuring” and “Annabelle” films) produced the film.
We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).
SHAZAM! opens in theaters on April 5.

One of Andrew Wyeth’s most famous paintings is “Christina’s World.” It depicts a woman immobilized, lying on a grassy hill, reaching out towards a farmhouse that sits isolated in the distance. There was a young girl in Wyeth’s town who suffered from Polio, which forced her to crawl about. Emotions of loneliness, desperation, and fear are expressed even though the subject’s face is turned away from the viewer. This famous painting that has now traveled the world in exhibitions and as a postage stamp served as inspiration for Tobe Hooper’s 1974 cinematic masterpiece, THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE.
Director David F. Sandberg (last year’s LIGHTS OUT) seems to have also been influenced by this striking and haunting painting. ANNABELLE: CREATION feels like a southern-gothic folktale, not unlike PUMPKINHEAD. And like the aforementioned painting, the main lead girl also suffers from Polio, causing her to walk slowly in a leg brace. She’s one of several young women that a doll maker and his wife take in after the closing of an orphanage. Played with quiet strength by Talitha Bateman, Janice falls prey to a dark presence which leads her to discover an old doll hidden away in a locked bedroom upstairs.
While screenwriter Gary Dauberman, unfortunately, leaves the majority of the cast to simply blow away into the dusty distance, Sandberg focuses his attention on delivering what younger audiences have mainly come to experience: scares. In that regard, ANNABELLE: CREATION is extremely effective. Unlike its predecessor, it proudly stands next to THE CONJURING films as delivering real scares. What helps with this is making the audience afraid of not just the doll, but of what other being is haunting the house as well as the always hidden mother. It’s a terrifying trifecta that fits perfectly into the ominous surroundings. Previously executed in James Wan’s INSIDIOUS and CONJURING films, Sandberg relies heavily on presenting children’s games and toys in a dark light. Everything from a dollhouse to a toy pop-gun is used in ways to subvert their innocence. Even his twisted take on a seemingly innocent song played on a record player is somewhat reminiscent of a similar take on a classic song in INSIDIOUS. That being said, I don’t fault Sandberg for learning from what has previously worked well. He shows a knack for creating tension, and like those previous films, the scares are structured as patiently staged set pieces as opposed to quick jump scares.
Art always spawns other art. As Harry S. Truman once stated, “There is nothing new in the world except the history you do not know.” Sandberg proves that he’s certainly not ignorant to the world of horror cinema, while also showing how to properly take inspiration from some of the masters of the genre.
Who doesn’t love a chilling, scary movie during the hot days of summer!
In ANNABELLE: CREATION, several years after the tragic death of their little girl, a dollmaker and his wife welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home, soon becoming the target of the dollmaker’s possessed creation, Annabelle.
The film is from director of the spooky LIGHTS OUT, David F. Sandberg. Get ready for more frightening images from the filmmaker.
While the film doesn’t open in cinemas until August 11th, ANNABELLE: CREATION premiered Monday, June 19th, at the Los Angeles Film Festival. Variety said in their review, “At one point, visiting Annabelle’s Victorian-looking chamber for what feels like the umpteenth time, Janice finds herself face to face with what looks to be the dead girl. “Will you help me?” the ghostly stranger asks, to which Janice helpfully replies, “What do you need?” “Your soul!” shrieks the creature and proceeds to chase the handicapped girl around the house.” Sounds awesome and can’t wait for this next chapter in The Conjuring universe!
