David Slade’s ‘Cold Skin’ Gets a Poster

David Slade’s name has been in the news an awful lot these past few weeks.   Today, we bring you the first poster for his next-up thriller, ‘Cold Skin.’

It’s an interesting poster, but, honestly, I’m shocked it got past the MPAA.   I mean, really!   It’s a naked butt, MPAA.   Where were you on this one?   Children across this grand nation of ours could be compromised if they were to feast their innocent, little eyes on the posterior of this snake-woman.   For shame, MPAA.   For shame.

What really does surprise me is that this film already has this much marketing behind it, yet it doesn’t even begin filming until March, 2010.   I guess that gives Slade plenty of time to put his stamp on a ‘Twilight’ movie.

David Slade has attached himself to head up the direction on ‘Cold Skin,’ adapted from the Spanish novel of the same name.   This news comes just days after the news that Slade has been set to direct the third film in the ‘Twilight Saga,’ ‘Eclipse.’

‘Cold Skin’ centers on a weather official on a remote island in the South Atlantic close to the Arctic Circle.   The novel was the debut novel by Albert Sanchez Pinol.   Jesus Olmo (’28 Weeks Later’) is working on adapting the novel for the screen.

“David was always our first choice for ‘Cold Skin’ because he knows how to handle the psychological horror, and he’s CG savvy as well,† producer Denise O’Dell said.

The film, with a projected budget of $25 million, is set to begin production March, 2010.
