Dylan Baker’s Family-Friendly Drama 23 BLAST Coming To Theaters October 3

Having been featured in USA Today, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, NBC’s Today and Dateline NBC, Travis Freeman’s story now comes to the big screen in  23 BLAST.

The Dylan Baker Film, inspired by the true life events of Freeman, who played football for Corbin High School in the mid 1990’s despite being blind, will release nationwide in theaters on October 3, 2014 through Ocean Avenue Entertainment, Inc. in association with Toy Gun Films.

The film stars Stephen Lang, Alexa Vega, Kim Zimmer,Timothy Busfield, Dylan Baker, and Fred D. Thompson.

23 BLAST features Freeman, a typical teenager growing up in a small town in Kentucky, who is a local hero on and off the field. In the fall of 1997, in the prime of his youth, he is unexpectedly stricken with an infection that destroys his optic nerve. He becomes blind overnight. Under the influence of parents who love him, a physical therapist who challenges him, a coach who inspires him, and a best friend who he cannot bear to leave behind, Freeman shows us what true bravery is by competing on the gridiron, helping his Corbin High School team advance to the state playoffs. 23 Blast follows Freeman and Jerry Baker, his closest friend, from the time they meet on the football field as kids through high school. Baker’s attraction to the dark side of teenage temptations, beer and drugs, threatens to pull the friends apart. It is only on the football field where they truly connect.

“Our cast and crew had Travis and his family on the set the whole time,” says Baker. “He kept us laughing with his upbeat nature. We were inspired by him and his story each day, and 23 Blast is fueled with that spirit of joy and courage he exudes.”

The film is written by Bram Hooverand Toni Hoover, directed/produced by Dylan Baker (Spider-Man 2 & 3, 13 Days) and produced by Gary Donatelli and Toni Hoover. Executive producers for the movie include Daniel Snyder (owner of the Washington Redskins), Misook Doolittle and Brent Ryan Green.

23 BLAST was shot entirely on location in Corbin, Ky.

Freeman has been busy since his football days. He recently earned a Ph.D. and is currently an instructor of religion at the University of the Cumberlands in nearby Williamsburg, Ky.

Open Road Films To Release Robert Rodriguez’s MACHETE KILLS On September 13, 2013

Open Road Films will release MACHETE KILLS – directed by Robert Rodriguez (Machete, Sin City, Spy Kids franchise) and starring Danny Trejo, Michelle Rodriguez, Sofia Vergara, Amber Heard, Charlie Sheen, Lady Gaga, Antonio Banderas, Jessica Alba, Demián Bichir, Alexa Vega, Vanessa Hudgens, Cuba Gooding, Jr., William Sadler, Marko Zaror and Mel Gibson – on September 13, 2013.

Directed by Robert Rodriguez from a screenplay by Kyle Ward and based on a story by Marcel Rodriguez and Robert Rodríguez, MACHETE KILLS is the sequel to the 2010 hit film MACHETE – which has built a devoted legion of fans since its release – and is the second film in a trilogy.

Robert Rodriguez Tweets MACHETE KILLS Poster Featuring Lady Gaga As La Chameleon

On Thursday, Producer-Director Robert Rodriguez (@Rodriguez) tweeted out this first poster for the second film in the Machete trilogy.

I just finished working with @LadyGaga on @MacheteKills , she kicked SO MUCH ASS! Holy Smokes. Blown away!

Lady Gaga also took to Twitter to confirm her part in the movie:

Yes its true, I will be making my debut as an actress ln the amazing MACHETE KILLS BY @RODRIGUEZ IM SO EXCITED!!! AH! Filming was insane.

Gaga + Rodriguez = brilliance. Even more so by releasing all this info on MACHETE KILLS via the 21st century version of a newspaper –  social networking.

In late June Rodriguez sent out this photo, “I just cast Charlie Sheen in #machetekills as the President of the United States! Who better?”

In the upcoming film, Machete is mourning the loss of his beloved Sartana, slain during a run in with the cartels. Machete is recruited by the President of the United States for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man. Machete must battle his way through Mexico to take down a cartel leader, Mendez the Madman, who threatens to fire a missile on the US. Machete foils Mendez’s plot only to find that the missiles are remote wired to and triggered by the madman’s still beating heart. The only man who can disarm the missile is eccentric billionaire arms dealer, Luther Voz, who has hatched a plan of his own to spread war across the planet with a weapon in space. Machete takes on Voz and his army in order dismantle his master plan for global anarchy.

Machete made his first appearance in a “fake” trailer in Rodriguez’s 2007 Grindhouse. The first film, Machete, starred Danny Trejo, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Jeff Fahey and Robert De Niro, was released in 2009 to strong box office and overwhelming home video success. Rodriguez’s next film, FRANK MILLER’S SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR (3D), will  be released in 2014.

Starring Danny Trejo, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Amber Heard, Sofia Vergara, Antonio Banderas, Demian Bichir, Alexa Vega, Mel Gibson, Charlie Sheen, and Lady Gaga, MACHETE KILLS will be in theaters in 2013.

SPY KIDS are doing it again… This time with Jessica Alba in the all new SPY KIDS: ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD film.

On the surface, Marissa Cortez Wilson (Jessica Alba) has it all…married to a famous spy hunting television reporter, a new baby and intelligent twin step kids. But in reality, trying to mother Rebecca (Rowan Blanchard) and Cecil (Mason Cook), who clearly don’t want her around, is her toughest challenge yet. Also, her husband, Wilbur (Joel McHale), wouldn’t know a spy if he lived with one which is exactly the case – Marissa’s a retired secret agent.

SYNOPSIS:

Marissa’s world is turned upside down when the maniacal Timekeeper (Jeremy Piven) threatens to take over the planet and she’s called back into action by the head of OSS, home of the greatest spies and where the now-defunct Spy Kids division was created.
