LOST Season 6 Premiere Date!

Dharma

The final season has arrived. LOST fans rejoice. I love LOST as much as the next guy, and I am really hoping that everything will come full circle (or pretty close to) when the season premieres this year. The official date has been announced by ABC today that the special “all night event” will be on February 2nd 2010. The evening will start off with an hour long review of season’s past and then end with the 2-hour season premiere at 9:00PM ET.

The series will then commence to its normal time from 9:00-10:00pm ET the following week!

I can’t wait! Anyone have a theory worked out yet for the ending?

‘Witches of Eastwick’ are going Prime Time

Warner Bros is producing a pilot for a television series based on the 1987 hit movie ‘Witches of Eastwick’ to air on ABC. Lindsay Price (Lipstick Jungle) has been cast as one of the trio of witches, following the same basic storyline as the original feature. Jaime Ray Newman (Veronica Mars) will play another of Eastwick’s three witches.

“Eastwick” follows three young witches who come into their powers. WMA-repped Price will play one of them, Joanna, a hardworking, shy reporter for the local newspaper. — HR

‘V’ Remake Pilot Gets the Green Light

Okay, so it’s not exactly movie related news, but it’s definitely news hardcore geeks around the world have been waiting to hear. Â  ABC has officially given a greenlight to the production of its reworking of “V”, the 1980s mini-series about invading alien lizards who wear human skin as disguises.

Scott Peters, the co-creator of USA’s sci-fi series “The 4400”, is on writing duty for the new series’ pilot. Â  Hardcore fans of the series will be a little perterbed to hear that the original series’ writer/producer Kenneth Johnson will not be back in any form.

The new series will follow a Homeland Security agent with an aimless son. Â  When the aliens land, the son gloms onto them, causing tension within the family. Â  Like the original series, the aliens say they have come to earth to help, but lizad aliens wearing human skin can’t be trusted, right?

What do you think? Â  Are you excited to see a new version of “V” hit TV sets? Â  In this day and age of long-form television writing with shows like “Lost” will a show about an alien invasion be able to sustain a long series? Â  Does anyone else hope and pray Marc Singer gets at least a cameo? Â  Let us know by commenting below!
