FIN01_Aftermath_1Sht_Payoff_VF

I’m not gonna lie, I’ve been watching Celebrity Apprentice because its him… Arnold Schwarzenegger’s “GET TO THE CHOPPAH”!!! in PREDATOR will forever go down as one those great iconic Hollywood one-liners. His role as a grieving father in the Zombie apocalypse film MAGGIE showed a different side to the one-time Governor of California.

Now comes his turn as a father and husband bent on vengeance.

In cinemas and On-Demand on April 7th, watch the new trailer for AFTERMATH.

Two strangers’ lives become inextricably bound together after a devastating plane crash. AFTERMATH is inspired by the remarkable true story of the events that unfolded when a Russian passenger plane collided with a cargo plane over Germany in 2002. 71 people die.

AFTERMATH tells a story of guilt and revenge after an air traffic controller’s (Scoot McNairy) error causes the death of a construction foreman’s (Arnold Schwarzenegger) wife and daughter.

The film, directed by Elliott Lester (Director of Blitz, Love Is The Drug) and written by Javier Gullón (Writer, Enemy, The Cave), features Arnold Schwarzenegger (Terminator Genisys, The Expendables 3), Scoot McNairy (Our Brand Is Crisis, 12 Years A Slave), and Maggie Grace (The Taken Series, Lockout).

Documentary 13th Screens at The St. Louis Public Library February 4th

13th-header

13th screens Saturday, February 11th at The St. Louis Public Library Central Branch (1301 Olive Street St. Louis) at 1pm as part a documentary series that focuses on incarceration in the United States. This is a FREE event.

13th2

The title of Ava DuVernay’s extraordinary and galvanizing documentary refers to the 13th Amendment to the Constitution, which reads “Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States.” The progression from that second qualifying clause to the horrors of mass criminalization and the sprawling American prison industry is laid out by DuVernay with bracing lucidity. With a potent mixture of archival footage and testimony from a dazzling array of activists, politicians, historians, and formerly incarcerated women and men, DuVernay creates a work of grand historical synthesis.

13th4

The critics love 13th:

TIME Magazine says:

“13th … is dense with information, and it moves fast. But it’s also a story told in images, and the ones DuVernay has chosen ring not just with sadness and horror but also cautious optimism.”

The Film Stage said:

“13th speaks to a populace jaded by the status quo and encourages them to reexamine their own preconceptions and prejudices.”

Detroit News says:

“It’s all very alarming and upsetting and terrifying.”

In this critically-acclaimed theatrical journey through the Seven Kingdoms, avid ‘Thrones’ fan Graeme just wants to recreate his favorite fantasy saga on stage. He does not have the same budget as the TV show, or as many cast members, or the performance skills required, but he is sure George RR Martin would approve – and that is the only thing that matters. But when news reaches him that an influential theatrical producer is in the building, Graeme decides that this could be his big break, as long as nothing goes wrong.

Having started life in London’s West End, GRAEME OF THRONES has since been seen around the world with productions in Australia, Canada and the United States. In 2017, the production takes on a world tour giving Westeros fans everywhere the chance to see why Time Out described the show as “a must for any Game of Thrones fan,” what caused a woman in Norwich to vomit into her purse, and why it was banned from performing in Malaysia.

See Kristen Stewart In New Trailer For The Supernatural Thriller PERSONAL SHOPPER

Photos by Carole Bethuel. Courtesy of IFC Films.

Kristen Stewart stars as Maureen Cartwright in the brand new trailer for Olivier Assayas’s PERSONAL SHOPPER.

In their Cannes 2016 review, The Guardian called the “captivating, bizarre, tense, fervently preposterous and almost unclassifiable scary movie Stewart’s best performance to date.”

The actress was host of SNL this past weekend. Watch the opening monologue HERE.

Olivier Assayas, the internationally-acclaimed director of Clouds of Sils Maria and Summer Hours, returns with this ethereal and mysterious ghost story starring Kristen Stewart as a high-fashion personal shopper to the stars who is also a spiritual medium.

Grieving the recent death of her twin brother, she haunts his Paris home, determined to make contact with him.

IFC Films will release the movie on March 10.

GHOST IN THE SHELL Screening at the Tivoli February 7th and 8th

Ghost in the Shell --

GHOST IN THE SHELL screens at The Tivoli  Tuesday, February 7th at 7pm (subtitled) and Wednesday, February 8th at 7:30pm (dubbed).

Mamoru Oshii’s GHOST IN THE SHELL (1995) is one of the ultimate nerd movies. It’s science fiction anime aimed at smart audiences, and one that raised the bar for Japanese animation. Its complex story is set in a society where being a full-flesh human is no longer the norm. Is humanity losing its existence or is it loosely defined? Cyborgs are part human, part machine, and a continuation of a previously “whole” human entity. Major Motoko Kusanagi, a full-replacement cyborg in the national security division Section 9, is investigating a mysterious hacker who goes by the name “The Puppet Master.” It may be apparent throughout the film that many of its aspects and ideas have been borrowed for other films such as THE MATRIX (source code; plugging into the network) and INCEPTION (diving into another conscious).

Now lucky St. Louisans can experience GHOST ON THE SHELL when it plays on the big screen at The Tivoli Tuesday, February 7th at 7pm (subtitled) and Wednesday, February 8th at 7:30pm (dubbed).
