Quintin “Rampage” Jackson in a Dry Hump Trance!

Yeah. You’re right. This isn’t movie news, or related at all to movies… well, except in the beginning while he’s talking about allegedly working with John Singleton on some unknown movie. But, this is so awkwardly hilarious I just couldn’t help but post this to share after seeing it featured on last night’s episode of ‘Attack of the Show’. Enjoy…

Paddy’s Day, Boondock Saints & the State of our Economy

I have a Hotmail account. When I log out of Hotmail, I am redirected to MSN.com and I always take a moment to see what masquerades as “news.”

Well, as we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, MSN informs the world that cursing is on the rise – and that it is directly related to our ailing economy.

And so, I bring you this clip, which illustrates both the holiday we are currently enjoying and the kind of language that is on the rise in our time of economic stress…

Discuss: Remake Vs. Reboot Vs. Reimagining

jj-abrams-star-trekfdt13casino-royale-poster

From Wikipedia, a most reliable source:

Reboot -  a discarding of much or even all previous continuity  in the series, to start anew. Effectively, all previously known fictive history is declared by the writer(s) to be null and void, or at least irrelevant to the current storyline, and the series starts over.

Remake -Â  generally used in reference to a movie which uses an earlier movie as the main source material, rather than in reference to a second, later movie based on the same source.

Reimagining -Â  remakes that do not closely follow the original. The term is used by creators in the marketing of films and television shows to inform audiences that the new product is not the same as the old. Reimaginings often contain tongue in cheek references to the original with characters and concepts of the same name, but significantly changed.

Nothing like standing out in the rain talking with a fellow Movie Geek to get your geek-filled blood boiling. Â  So it goes with yesterday evening. Â  The conversation deviated towards film studios and how ridiculous they have gotten in recent memory. Â  One of the major bones of contention the two of us had with the studios, of which there were many, was this idea of studios saying they are “rebooting” a film instead of “remaking” it. Wachowski / ‘Superman’ Rumor Shot Down Before it Began!

superman2

Sometimes you gotta just sit back and let rumors come and go without even making mention of them.   It was mentioned over at Ain’t It Cool News last week that The Wachowski Brothers were circling around yet another ‘Superman’ reboot.   Instead of running it as if it were pure fact, we movie geeks wanted to hold out until something a little more solid came out.   Well, that time is now.

“The Wachowski Brothers have definitely never had any talks with DC or Warner Bros to helm a Superman film. This is confirmed.”

That is the word that came in from SlashFilm.

While that combination might result in a pretty sweet ‘Superman’ movie, it looks like it is something we will never see.

Movie guys use Twitter, why aren’t you?

For those of you that do not know what Twitter is, you are living in an alternate universe, because if you aren’t on twitter, following people on twitter, or posting your own tweets then you are being left behind in the fastest growing web applications since the Myspace and Facebook revolution.

Twitter is a microblogging platform that you essentially lets you post little “updates” about anything you want. Similar to the Facebook/Myspace status updates, only with Twitter you can reply on your twitter to other people’s update. Example of one I replied to from @gmanreviews(I edited out a curse, family friendly always):

Twitter is especially great if you are into movies, movie news, or want to see a bunch of movie geeks fight/discuss movies. Here is a little snippit of Pete from Slashfilm taking a stab at Alex from FirstShowing:

If you haven’t already you can check out my twitter http://twitter.com/moviegeeks, where I post things about this site, live blogged Sundance, kept in communication with the condo dudes(@rejects, @slashfilm, @firstshowing) and generally just talk about crap, but of course it is interesting crap.

If you want to just stay up to date on movie stuff make sure you follow these guys aka “The Heavy Hitters”:

@rejects, @slashfilm, @firstshowing, @latinoreview, @geektyrant, @elmayimbe, @colliderfrosty, @gmanreviews, @screenrant, @horrormovies, @traileraddict, or go to my page and look at who I follow.

Here are a few celebs that I follow: Kevin Smith, Henry Rollins, Ondi Timoner, Sean Patrick Flanery, Darren Bousman. There are a ton of other celebs that I don’t follow, but you can check out a HUGE list of celebrity twitters here.

To follow them is easy just sign up at twitter.com. Visit their page and click on follow, then after you go to your homepage you will see all their updates/tweets.

25 Movies You Should Have Seen And Probably Never Have

I am a fan of James Gunn’s movies. And his hair.

He keeps an interesting blog on Myspace. His latest concerns itself with the aforementioned list of movies you should – but probably haven’t – seen. There are some great, obscure films on his list:

“Zombies Ahead”, road sign hacked

You know those road signs that give you information about things that might be happening on the road ahead? Well people have learned to hack them and are now putting informative little things on them like “Zombie’s Ahead”. I really hope to come across some zombies one day, maybe just maybe now is the time!

Thanks to Gizmodo for the heads up. Here are some more:

Makes me want to try it, except for the fact that my face is too pretty for prison, I wouldn’t last a day!

Fan-Made ‘Gremlins’ Cross-Over short on YouTube…

Typically, I wouldn’t post something like this when it’s recently been covered very well by another site, but it’s so cool I wanted to add my hand in promoting it on the Internet. Originally covered by ShockTilYouDrop.com, this seven-minute long video is extremely well done and very enjoyable to watch. So, enjoy…
