Here is a look at the Cabinet of Oliver Stone’s latest which takes a look at the rise and fall of George W. Bush. The film should be out in the first week of October and should be sure to cause plenty of controversy between the Left and the Right. I am intrigued to see which way this film goes, as it is apparently not as Left Wing biased as you think it would be, and is supposed to be a fair an accurate portrayal of the President. Check out Vanity Fair for the full story (and the image is a play on a picture by their magazine).

DVD Releases for 9/16
A new column for you all. A list of the top DVD picks for the week! Check out the titles below along with a link to buy along with a synopsis for you. Kind of a light week, but the blockbusters should start rolling out in the not to distant future like, Iron Man (Ultimate 2-Disc Edition) [Blu-ray], is in a couple weeks, enjoy!
Pushing Daisies: The Complete First Season [Blu-ray] – Pushing Daisies is a fantastic show that is about as close as a TV show can get to feeling like a movie, this side of LOST. If you are a fan of Tim Burton and that odd sense of humor this show will be right up your ally and this is a perfect way to catch up before the new season starts in October.
Snow Angels – (The Sleeper of the Week) – Snow Angels is a drama from David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express) that revolves around the lives of a couple of ex’s and what happens when their daughter goes missing. Sam Rockwell and Kate Beckinsale star and this will be one to check out this Tuesday.
Speed Racer [Blu-ray] – (Pick of the Week) – Speed Racer was a winner, and was born to be seen on Blu! I can not wait to see this in beautiful 1080p in all of its glory. This is a 2-Disc set, plus a digital copy to boot. For fans it is a must buy, and for those that stayed away for no reason, check out one of the most entertaining films of the summer!
The Mist [Blu-ray] – The Mist was one of the better films of 07 and I can’t wait to finally get to see the B&W version of the film, have been holding out for this release, and see the film the way Darabont intended. A great little mind f*** of a movie that is about the monsters inside of people as much as it is about the monsters in The Mist.
Made of Honor – The Patrick Dempsey chick flick was enjoyed by the females in my life that saw it, and I will admit that the preview didn’t look half bad. Anyways, I will be watching this film in the not to distant future I am sure and this will probably be the next “date night” movie you get from the video store.
Pirates of the Caribbean Trilogy [Blu-ray] – Here is your chance to get this recent blockbuster trilogy all together and at a bit of a discounted rate. I would pick this up but I got At Worlds End already in HD and I am waiting for those other two to go on a good sale. Anyways, the 2nd film is considered reference quality for A/V and they are some really fun films anyways. Check it out.

Arnold in ‘Terminator: Salvation’? Sort of?
So the word on the street, spawned by a recent set visit by the Governor, is that Arnold may be lending his voice and digital version of his face to the new Terminator. Posted at Latino Review:
Hope all is well. You never seemed to run with the email i sent you containing the Terminator 4 Salvation images which WB released a week later. [I never got that e-mail, I don’t think -Ed.] Nonetheless, I’ve got a sneak peak for you which will make your day. Please find attached an Image of the Governator and John Connor meeting for the first time, yes it was on the set of T4.
I should make it clear, I have various contacts in WB and from what I’ve been told the fans are in for a treat. The premise of Arnie’s involvement is to have a fully rendered digital face of Arnie replacing the recently cast Roland Kickinger (The Younger version of Arnie). It seems the Director Mc G will in no doubt try all he can to ensure the Governator has some sort of involvement and as a result Arnold was on set providing key ADR (Voice over) for the visual effects guys to reference during post production. You have to remember, Arnold’s commitments are preventing his return to the movie business and this seems the best logical way to ensure his involvement.
I hope this pans out, and I hope it looks good, but this could be a really cool way of integrating Arnold and making the films fit with the old. It could also blow up in everyones face and be terrible too. Anyways, let’s wait for official word, but something potentially cool to mull in the meantime.
‘Ghostbusters III’ becoming more & more like a possible reality!
This is exciting news, though I hope things turns out well. The studio and all creative involved seem to be behind this possible endeavour and it will be fun to see where this goes. With an Apatow cast and appearances by all the originals, it will be interesting to see how this plays out. Here is hoping to it playing out well. Check out what Harold Ramis has to say about the project:
“Yes, Columbia is developing a script for GB3 with my year one writing partners, Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg. Judd Apatow is co-producing year one and has made several other films for Sony, so of course the studio is hoping to tap into some of the same acting talent. Aykroyd, Ivan Reitman and I are consulting at this point, and according to Dan, Bill Murray is willing to be involved on some level. He did record his dialogue for the new ghostbusters video game, as did Danny and I, and Ernie Hudson. The concept is that the old ghostbusters would appear in the film in some mentor capacity. Not much else to say at this point. Everyone is confident a decent script can be written and i guess we’ll take it from there.
best,
harold”
That is straight from the guy you want to hear something about this being legit. So get ready for a possible sequel getting going later this year, and remember, ‘Who you going to call?’ Full article here.
An ‘Inside Man’ sequel on its way?
Inside Man is one of Spike Lee’s better efforts in a while and was a pretty solid little crime caper. Clive Owen and Denzel Washington are apparently interested in returning and Spike Lee might want to make it his next directing vehicle. For all the details check here.

Review: ’21’ on DVD

’21’ is the worst film I have seen in years and it astonishes me that so many people recommended this film to me.
The film follows an MIT student, Ben (Jim Sturgess) who is trying to find a way to get enough money to go to Harvard Med School and has no where to turn. When one of his professors, Prof. Rosa (Kevin Spacey), notices his intelligence abilities in class he recruits him for group of students who count cards as a team and make money playing black jack on the weekends. Ben reluctantly joins but can’t resist the rush and earnings he is able to acquire from his talents. As he falls deeper into the game the risks get higher as both the Professor and a casino security advisor (Lawrence Fishburne) eventually take a problem to his antics in Las Vegas. Luckily he falls for his partner Jill (Kate Bosworth) and as they go back and forth, will they or won’t they, they begin to form a bit of a partnership and work through adversity together. ‘Milk’ Trailer Does Everybody Good
Sometimes a trailer comes along for a movie you hear about, know it has some potential, and then knocks you on your butt at how it good it looks once you get to see it in motion. This is one of those trailers. An all-star cast brings Gus Van Sant’s biopic of gay activist Harvey Milk to life. Staring Sean Penn in the title role and supporting turns by Josh Brolin, Emile Hirsh, James Franco, and Diego Luna. The film looks at Milk’s attempt to capture a public office position and the affect it has on the San Francisco community. Check out the trailer at Apple hereand look for this in theaters November 26th.
