PITCH PERFECT 2 Wins The Weekend With Enormous $70.3 Million Haul At The Box Office
The Bellas rocked out this weekend’s box office.
Elizabeth Banks’ PITCH PERFECT 2 brought in a staggering $70.3 million in U.S. ticket sales. (review)
Rentrak’s Senior Media Analyst Paul Dergarabedian commented, “Universal’s PITCH PERFECT 2 had a solid international weekend earning $26.9 million in 29 markets for an early total of $38.1 million and a worldwide total of $108.4 million.”
He added, “Disney/Marvel’s summer mega-hit AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON got off to a phenomenal start in China, grossing a truly staggering $156.3 million in 6 days since its Tuesday debut. Along with the solid performance in other international territories and North America, the total estimated gross for Avengers: Age of Ultron now stands at $1.143 billion, which catapults it to now stand as the 8th highest grossing film of all-time.”
Opening over the upcoming Memorial Day holiday are Gil Kenan’s POLTERGEIST (20th Century Fox) and Brad Bird’s TOMORROWLAND (Disney). Read Variety’s review here.
