The 1953 western “Shane,” which was directed by George Stevens, received six Academy Award® nominations including one for Best Picture of the year. “Shane” will screen on Monday, November 15, 2004, at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Beverly Hills as part of the George Stevens Centennial Retrospective, an eight-week screening series presented by the Academy in celebration of the late Oscar®-winning director’s career.
