(Beverly Hills, Calif.) August 22, 2011- Principal photography begins today on the comedy 21 AND OVER, starring the rising cast, Miles Teller (Footloose), Justin Chon (The Twilight Saga), Skylar Astin (Taking Woodstock) and Sarah Wright (The House Bunny). Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, writers of The Hangover and The Change Up, will direct from their screenplay.
21 AND OVER is produced by Mandeville Films’ David Hoberman (The Fighter) and Todd Lieberman (The Fighter), in association with Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Produced (Limitless). Relativity Media will release the hilarious comedy in which two childhood friends drag their straight-arrow buddy out to celebrate his twenty-first birthday the night before an all-important medical school interview. But when one beer leads to another, the evening spirals into a wild epic misadventure of debauchery and mayhem that none of them will ever forget.
Rounding out the cast are François Chau (Rescue Dawn), Jonathan Keltz (Entourage), Daniel Booko (A Warrior’s Heart) and Dustin Ybarra (Hop).
“Scott and I couldn’t be more excited about directing our first movie, and are grateful to Relativity for giving us this amazing opportunity. If the movie isn’t awesome, it’s Scott’s fault,” said Lucas on behalf of both directors.
Collaborating with Lucas and Moore behind the scenes is a creative team including: director of photography Terry Stacey (Dear John), production designer Jerry Fleming (Crank), editor John Refoua (Avatar), casting director Nancy Nayor (Road Trip) and costume designer Christine Wada (Bridesmaids). The 29-day shoot will take place in Seattle, Washington.
Looking ahead, Relativity will release David Ellis’ Shark Night 3D on September 2, 2011, followed by Marc Forster’s Machine Gun Preacher on September 23, 2011, then the highly-anticipated Immortals on November 11, 2011, starring Henry Cavill, Stephen Dorff, Isabel Lucas, Freida Pinto, Luke Evans and Kellan Lutz with John Hurt and Mickey Rourke. The studio is in production on its Untitled Snow White Project (in theatres March 16, 2012), starring Oscar®-winner Julia Roberts, Lily Collins, Nathan Lane, and Sean Bean.
