IDES OF MARCH Still Features Ryan Gosling & George Clooney

Here’s a first look at Ryan Gosling (left) with George Clooney (right, poster) in Columbia Pictures’ IDES OF MARCH.

The Ides of March takes place during the frantic last days before a heavily contested Ohio presidential primary, when an up-and-coming campaign press secretary (Ryan Gosling) finds himself involved in a political scandal that threatens to upend his candidate’s shot at the presidency. The rest of the cast includes Philip Seymour Hoffman, Marisa Tomei, Paul Giamatti, Jeffrey Wright, Max Minghella and Evan Rachel Wood.

The screenplay is by George Clooney & Grant Heslov & Beau Willimon and based upon a play by Beau Willimon.

Produced by Grant Heslov and Brian Oliver, executive produced by George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio, Nina Wolarsky, Jennifer Davisson Killoran, Steven Pevner, Nigel Sinclair, Guy East, Todd Thompson, Barbara A. Hall and directed by George Clooney, the political thriller will be in theaters October 7, 2011.
