It has been nine years, yes, you heard that right, nine years, since ‘Scream 3’. Â Rumors lately have been scattering worse than fleeing gazelle about a possible fourth installment in the franchise. Â We talked back in January about how the film was maybe, possibly, definitely might be considered being talked about…maybe. Â
Bloody Disgusting could create a complete sister-site with all the ‘Scream 4’ news they have posted in the last month.  Rope of Silicone just updated their site with some information regarding a possible, new trilogy of ‘Scream’ films.
Check out this screen cap:

Not sure how valid this is. Â This could just be someone’s idea of a prank, or it could even be Ropes of Silicone trying to make a name for themselves. Â I’m not saying that is the case. Â I’m just throwing potential ideas out there for what this could actually mean.
What it undoubtedly means, though, is that there are people out there who are clamoring for a fourth ‘Scream’ film. Â A lot of people were disappointed in the way the “trilogy” ended. Â There were no real, big surprises to cap the series off, especially regarding the series’ protagonist, Sidney Prescott, played by Neve Campbell. Â
Good, bad, or indifferent, each progressive film in the franchise made less at the box office than the previous film. Â ‘Scream’ ended up with $103 million domestic/$173 million worldwide. Â ‘Scream 2’ made $101 million domestic/$172 million worldwide. Â ‘Scream 3’ ended up making $89 million domestic/$161 million worldwide. Â None of these numbers were staggering dropoffs from the previous film, but there was a slight decline.
What could ‘Scream 4’ garner in terms of box office and in terms of fan support? Â Would you be interested in another ‘Scream’ trilogy, let alone a fourth film in the series? Â Which would you rather see, a fourth ‘Scream’ film, a new ‘Scream’ trilogy involving new characters but the same Ghostface killer, or a complete reboot of the series? Â Discuss, and let us know by commenting below!

Shock Till You Drop has the exclusive, first look at the poster you see above for ‘The Last House on the Left’. It’s a pretty cool poster. Nice, stylish imagery. Of course, nothing will ever beat the tag line of the original.
To avoid fainting, keep repeating “It’s only a movie…It’s only a movie…”
That tagline would have made this poster that much cooler. Still a pretty nice poster.
‘The Last House on the Left’ comes out on March 13th.

So, a “100% reliable source” for BD.com is apparently confirming some of the rumors out there surrounding the fourth installment of the ‘Scream’ franchise that was officially announced back in July 2008. It’s not a truly surprising revelation, but the series was pretty cool and there’s lots of people that really love the movies. So, with that said, here are the “concrete” facts offered up by BD’s Deep Throat source…
- Kevin Williamson (writer of two of the SCREAM films) is going to start writing a draft, although it may or may not become the shooting script (which is typical).
- Wes Craven may or may not direct, but there is a very good possibility that he will return.
- They are making financial offers to David Arquette, Courtney Cox Arquette and Neve Campbell to play cameos.
- This will be a younger version of the SCREAM movies.
Sounds a bit less than definite on the details. I think it would be great to see Craven return to the franchise. The “younger version” part concerns me a bit, as wordage like that usually means it’s going to get dumbed down and teen-ified. What do you think? Bring it back, or let it slide? What would equal a “quality” fourth installment? Tell us what you think by leaving comments on the post.

Rogue Pictures has released the trailer for the new remake of ‘The Last House of the Left’. Â The original 1972 film was directed by Wes Craven, and it was so intense that it was banned in the UK. Â Something tells me there’s no fear of that in this one. Â It does warrant an R-rating, I’m sure, but this envelope has already been pushed to the limit.
Check out the trailer here!
We’ve also pulled some still from the film for your viewing pleasures.
What do you think?  Will it even compare to the original in terms of nastiness?  Is Wes Craven putting his name on just about anything these days? Isn’t it good to see Tony Goldwyn back on the big screen? Let us know by commenting below!

It’s been 9 years since we have seen this face and the voice, but all that is about to change because, my friends… ‘Scream 4’ could be on its way. If all of this is true, production could start this year. Now the problem is, how would this movie play out because in ‘Scream 3’ the movie kinda ended itself with the killer that was behind the whole thing. However, according to Jamie Kennedy in this new movie it will bring new and old characters back. As of December 13, writer Michael T. Kennedy was still waiting to hear from the Weinsteins about whether his script was a go. I have to say, if this movie gets a go I will definitely go see it because it’s ‘Scream’ and if Wes Craven is along for the ride this movie will be good.

Wes Craven hooked up Google this year with the above logo for google.com and I must say that its freaking awesome. The Jack-O-Lantern looks evil and ghoulish, and this is how you know you have made it. When Wes Craven does a logo for you..you are big time.
Everyone’s heard of, if not seen the Nightmare on Elm Streetmovies, featuring the sharp-tongued, joke-cracking serial killer of your dreams Freddy Krueger. You could probably say the same about the Screammovies as well. While these two franchises are both huge, how many of us [especially the younger generations] are familiar with Wes Craven’s earlier films… the ones that first earned him his street cred as a horror filmmaker?
The Last House on the Left (1972) was Wes Craven’s feature film debut and did he ever enter into “the Biz” with a bang! The movie follows two teenage girls who are going to attend a rock concert as a birthday celebration. Along the way, the girls decide to try and score some weed to enhance the experience, but manage to get themselves kidnapped by a gang of psychopaths who’re looking for a little fun of their own. This is by far Craven’s most raw and emotionally charged film to date, evoking extreme feelings of fear and helplessness as the kidnappers continue to torture the girls in ways that become difficult to watch. The film was so controversial, it was banned several times in the UK and still remains one of the most terrifying movie watching experiences a person can have.
This is the man who made you scared to go to sleep and ladies and gentlemen he is coming back. At least that what everyone is hoping for. But get ready for it the man that made Freddy, Freddy Krueger, Robert Englund has not been asked back to play the nightmare man, but turn out your socks the man that has been reported to play him is none other than Billy Bob Thornton. Yes you heard me right Billy Bob Thornton. Will if they pick him they at least have part of the process of making the movie. Reports have said that original director Wes Craven has no ideas about the remake. So maybe with a new nightmare there will come a new visionary.
