The movie is called ‘The Details,’ and here is the synopsis: Jeff and Nealy are a struggling, married couple with a problem bigger than their petty differences.   That would be the infestation of rabid raccoons in their back yard.   The problems the couple has escalate, and, at some point, someone gets murdered with a bow and arrow. JK Simmons Returning for ‘Spider-Man 4’

J. Jonah Jameson is back, folk! Â  In a recent sit-down with MTV, JK Simmons officially confirmed that he would be reprising his role as the publisher of the Daily Bugle. Â  Simmons’ return to the franchise was pretty much assumed, but no official confirmation has come our way until this.

“We’ve definitely brainstormed ideas for Triple-J, but I have no desire to make Triple-J more of the focus of those movies,† Simmons said. “The amount that I did in 1, 2 and 3, is just exactly right. Like be the wolf. Come in, blow in, do a week, blow out, be the comic relief, and hit the road. And let Tobey and everybody else do the heavy lifting.†

Also confirmed in the article is the fact that ‘Spider-Man 4’ would be shooting in 2010 for a May 2011 release.

What do you think? Â  Is it great that Simmons is coming back for this? Â  Are you a little leery about a new ‘Spider-Man’ after the last debacle? Â  Any chance Kirsten Dunst sits this one out? Â  Let us know by commenting below!

Raimi & Maguire Returning for ‘Spider-Man 4’ & ‘5’

According to Nikki Finke’s Deadline Hollywood blog, Sony has locked Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire to return for a 4th and 5th installment of the ‘Spider-Man’ franchise.   She says that this news is very recent and that just weeks ago, Sony Pictures co-chairman, Amy Pascal, was looking into potential Maguire replacements.

“She was looking around to cover herself because Sony wanted  him badly and Tobey wasn’t sure he wanted to do it,” an insider explains.

The 4th film will not feature a darker version of Spider-Man as seen in the 3rd film, but the villain has already been chosen.   Speculation is running rampant, though, as Finke was told that “once you find out who the villain is, you’ll know who’s playing it.”

Sony is also apparently trying to figure out the feasibility of shooting the 4th and 5th films back to back a’la ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ and ‘The Matrix’ sequels.

You can also bid (until 9PM CST tonight, that is) on E-bay for a walk-on part in ‘Spider-Man 4’ by following this link.   The current bid, as of 5:22 CST, is at $13,101.00.   100% of the profits are going to Stand Up To Cancer.

‘Spider-Man 4’ is tentatively scheduled for May, 2011

Tobey Maguire joins ‘The Crusaders’

Finally Mr. Maguire is back with a new film! He had this hilarious cameo role in Tropic Thunder, but I started to wonder why we have not seen him lately. There are talks about him maybe coming back to do another Spidey film but this project should do for now.

Tobey Maguire is attached to star in The Crusaders, a drama about the landmark 1954 Brown v. Brown of Education case.

Variety says Gary Ross is attached to direct, and Universal has hired “Recount” writer Danny Strong to write the script.

Maguire would play Jack Greenberg, who, as an idealistic lawyer fresh out of law school, joined with NAACP Legal Defense Fund head and future Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall to win a Supreme Court case that ruled segregation in American schools illegal.

Bob Cooper is producing, and Ross and Maguire will be executive producers through Ross’s Universal-based Larger Than Life Productions.

Lawrence Kasdan writing ‘Robotech’ script

Writer-director Lawrence Kasdan has been brought on to write the script for the live-action feature adaptation of the Robotech anime series. You may recognize this name as the writer and director of the best Star Wars episode The Empire Strikes Back. Kasdan also wrote the screenplays for Return of the Jedi and Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Warner Bros and Maguire Entertainment, Tobey Maguire’s production company, are working to bring this animated favorite from the 80’s to life. With Kasdan’s well-versed pen in hand, I feel we may just have a really cool movie in the works. Maguire is only rumored to be starring, but with him in a producer role, I’m sure he’ll get first dibs.

[ A sprawling sci-fi epic, “Robotech” takes place at a time when Earth has developed giant robots from the technology on an alien spacecraft that crashed on a South Pacific isle. Mankind is forced to use the technology to fend off three successive waves of alien invasions. The first invasion centers on a battle with a race of giant warriors who seek to retrieve their flagship’s energy source known as “protoculture,” and the planet’s hope for survival ends up in the hands of two young pilots.] — The Hollywood Reporter
