Those watching NFL football on Thursday, especially during the Chicago Bears-Green Bay Packers game, caught the brand new, minute-long TV spot for STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS.

Fans on Facebook were the first to see the new spot on Thanksgiving morning.

J.J. Abrams has a special video message for you: for only $10, Star Wars fans have the chance of attending the premiere of STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS. This is the fourth campaign that J.J. has done in partnership with Omaze, and this time the proceeds are benefiting 15 different charities chosen by the cast and filmmakers.

“With the film premiere just weeks away,” says Abrams in the brand new video. “I just want to take a minute to thank you, the Star Wars community, for supporting the mission of Star Wars: Force for Change.” There will be two lucky campaign winners who get to bring three friends each to either LA or London premiere to walk the red carpet, meet the cast and attend the after party.

Disney announced today that in an unprecedented collaboration with Google, STAR WARS fans will have an opportunity to share in immersive experiences – Awaken the Force Within and Google Cardboard Virtual Reality – in celebration of Lucasfilm’s STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS.

Awaken the Force Within global program starts today and fans logging onto google.com/starwars can make a choice to be on the Dark Side or the Light Side for the upcoming STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS.

Their favorite Google apps will transform to reflect the path they choose. Special experiences have been developed for Android Wear Watches, Google Calendar, Chrome, Chromecast, Gmail, Google Maps, Google Now, Waze and YouTube with added features for fans to discover on their Inbox by Gmail, Google Translate and Google Search.

Coming on December 2 is a new virtual reality experience developed along with Google and Verizon. This will feature the first-of-its-kind serialized Google Cardboard Virtual Reality (VR) experience that combines a compelling story and exclusive, never-seen-before content, which ties directly into the opening of  STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS with the very latest cutting-edge Virtual Reality technology.

Harrison Ford Surprises Star Wars Fans And Announces New “Force For Change” Campaign

Last week actor Harrison Ford surprised donors from around the world with the announcement of a new Omaze fundraising campaign in support of Star Wars: Force for Change’s mission to empower people to make an impact on the world around them. This once-in-a-lifetime experience will see two winners presented with tickets for them and three guests each to attend the premiere of STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS in either Los Angeles or London, walk the red carpet and meet the cast.

Fifteen global causes were individually chosen by J.J. Abrams, Kathleen Kennedy and the cast, which will benefit equally from the funds raised. Among the charities are UNICEF, Feeding America and Malala Fund. For as little as a $10 contribution made through the Omaze fundraising platform participants will be automatically entered for a chance to win and to help these incredible causes.

“A year and a half ago, we launched a brand new initiative called Star Wars: Force for Change that aims to inspire all of us to make a positive difference in the world,” said J.J. In celebration of Lucasfilm’s highly anticipated film, STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS, Disney Consumer Products and Bloomingdale’s are joining forces with an illustrious group of designers in a new fashion-meets-fundraising initiative, “Force 4 Fashion.”

Taking inspiration from the film’s costume designer, Michael Kaplan, fashion favorites Cynthia Rowley, Diane von Furstenberg, Giles Deacon, Halston, Opening Ceremony, Ovadia & Sons, Parker, Rag & Bone, Timo Weiland and Todd Snyder are each creating an outfit to be auctioned for charity that pays homage to characters from the new movie.

“This collaboration celebrates the distinctive synergy between film and fashion in the run up to an exceptional moment in the history of pop culture. STAR WARS “Art Awakens” Exhibit Celebrates STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS

In celebration of STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS, Lucasfilm, along with Gallery 1988 and HP Inc., proudly presents “Art Awakens.” 

From November 13-15, Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles hosted a Star Wars art exhibit featuring top professional and emerging contemporary artists. New and original pieces from the exhibit are now being auctioned off in the name of Star Wars: Force for Change to support UNICEF Kid Power. All original pieces featured in the gallery are now up for auction through eBay for Charity, along with select prints for sale.

Artists showcased include new and original works from: Joshua Keyes, Alex Pardee, Scott C., Lorraine Loots, Eric Tan, Brandi Milne, Rich Kelly, Kris Lewis, Travis Louie, Naoto Hattori and Dan Mumford, among many others. 

Original pieces by the professional artists will be up for auction on eBay from 11/13 – 11/23.

Prints of select originals by the professional artists will be available for purchase on eBay from 11/13 – 12/12.

Additionally, the five amateur winners of the 2-month long Art Awakens Fan Art Competition, which kicked off on August 11, had their art showcased in the professional gallery exhibit. The winners were chosen by a judging committee that included members from Disney, Lucasfilm and the legendary visual effects house Industrial Light & Magic, and others.

The five fan-art winners were flown to Los Angeles to attend the VIP opening night gallery reception at Gallery 1988 on November 13th. One winner was awarded with the HP Technology Award for their innovative use of technology to create their artwork and received a Star Wars Special Edition Notebook.

Sales will support UNICEF Kid Power, the world’s first Wearable-for-Good, which gives kids the power to save lives. By getting active with the UNICEF Kid Power Band, kids go on missions to learn about new cultures and earn points.

New STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Character Posters Revealed

Brand new characters posters for STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS were unveiled on Wednesday. With the seventh film less than fifty days away from opening in cinemas, the five posters feature close-ups of Han Solo, Princess Leia, Kylo Ren, Finn and Rey.

Lucasfilm and visionary director J.J. Abrams join forces to take you back again to a galaxy far, far away as “Star Wars” returns to the big screen with “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

The film stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Max Von Sydow.

Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk are producing with Tommy Harper and Jason McGatlin serving as executive producers. The screenplay is by J.J. Abrams & Lawrence Kasdan.

Poised to have the biggest opening weekend in movie history, STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS is already selling out tickets worldwide. Fandango crashed and Twitter exploded after the new trailer was released on Monday evening.

Expected to break box office records, J.J. Abrams’ film will open in cinemas on December 18, 2015.

“The Force” is also strong in China! The new trailer debuted on the Great Wall of China on the evening of October 20.

The grand campaign entitled “The Force Awakens on the Great Wall” was organized by the Walt Disney Company on the Juyongguan section of the Great Wall of China, bringing together numerous media representatives and fans to experience “The Force.”

The premiere of the official Chinese trailer for STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS brought the event to an exciting climax with a spectacular scene. Five hundred iconic Stormtroopers from the Star Wars saga appeared on the wall by surprise, and four Chinese characters, pronounced in English as “yuan,” “li,” “jue,” “xing” and meaning “The Force Awakens,” shone brightly on top of four beacon towers along the Juyongguan section of the wall.

The entire evening’s events brought great cheer and applause from fans, heightening expectations for the global release of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” at the end of this year.
