Review: JUST GO WITH IT

Just go with it…usually easier said than done. When it comes to love, things can get more complicated. Then throw in a couple kids, lies, and friendships it becomes all the more difficult. The new comedy starting comedy heavy hitter Adam Sandler (THE WATERBOY, 50 FIRST DATES) and A-lister Jennifer Aniston (THE SWITCH, HE’S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU) is directed by Dennis Dugan (GROWN UPS, YOU DON’T MESS WITH THE ZOHAN) is a laugh out loud funny, yet fairly predictable wingman story.  Yes, the wingman/wingwwoman has been done plenty, but JUST GO WITH IT is actually based on a French play, not a Sandler skit stretched out to a full length film, although it does have much of the typical Sandler humor. This was the best comedic performance Aniston has displayed since FRIENDS, and for once, in a very long time, she was not replaceable in her character. They showed a good chemistry on the camera as well, perhaps from being comfortable as friends for many years now.

The story revolves around Adam Sandler’s character Dr. Danny, a plastic surgeon, and his assistant Katherine played by Jennifer Aniston, and a very young school teacher named Palmer played by Brooklyn Decker (from the upcoming BATTLESHIP, and former Sports Illustrated model). Dr. Danny is a life-long bachelor that uses a special little trick that gets the women every time, but when he meets Palmer he decides she is the one. So, he expands his little scheme into a grand production that includes Katherine and her two adorable children-even index cards. Many cameos, some very unexpected by the way, and a couple other relevant side stories develop that essentially give this movie more depth than the average, superficial guy wants hot young chick movie.

Overall, this is undeniably worth seeing, whether you are a die-hard Adam Sandler fan or just in dire need of a comedy. And, the audience will be laughing throughout the entire film, at unexpected characters and not just at Sandler. Let’s just mention that Rachel Dratch will make you want to slap your knee and the knee of the person in the seat next to you. There is also plenty of eye-candy with the world renowned model Brooklyn Decker and over forty hottie Jennifer Aniston in bikinis set in the landscape of the beautiful Hawaii island of Kaui. Sometime’s a guy’s best wingman is a wingwoman.

JUST GO WITH IT Trailer Featuring Sandler, Aniston & Decker

Watch this trailer for JUST GO WITH IT starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston.

Ya know, this looks funny. After Sandler’s awful GROWN-UPS, I’m more inclined to want to see this for Aniston. Hopefully she’ll find a hit even with the so-so box office returns of her recent movies THE SWITCH and THE BOUNTY HUNTER.
