Sir Ben Kingsley added to ‘Prince of Persia’

The big screen adaptation of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, based on the Ubisoft videogame series, has added a major player to its cast … Sir Ben Kingsley. The film is being produced by Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer and begins shooting next month in Morocco and England. Mike Newell (Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire) will be directing. Jake Gyllenhaal will play the heroic Prince while Kingsley will play the villainous Nizam, who plans to kill his brother the King and frame the Prince in order to seize the throne. Gemma Arterton and Alfred Molina will also be in the film.

Based on the popular video game series that’s [nearly] as old as I am, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time will star Jake Gyllenhaal and Gemma Arterton. The film will be produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Mike Newell.
