Watch the trailer for GAMBIT starring Oscar winner Colin Firth (THE KING’S SPEECH), Cameron Diaz (THE GREEN HORNET), Alan Rickman (HARRY POTTER series), Golden Globe winner Stanley Tucci (JULIE & JULIA) and Tom Courtenay (THE GOLDEN COMPASS). The screenplay is by Joel Coen & Ethan Coen (TRUE GRIT, NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN, RAISING ARIZONA). As Tucci says in this first preview of GAMBIT, it looks “bloody marvelous!”

The director of  THE LAST STATION, Michael Hoffman, brings to the screen the remake of the 1966 crime-caper which starred Michael Caine and Shirley MacLaine. Should the original turn up on TCM try to catch. It was nominated for 3 Academy Awards and is absolutely delightful.

In this latest version, the story centers on British art curator Harry Deane (Firth) who devises a finely-crafted scheme to con England’s richest man and avid art collector, Lionel Shabandar, (Rickman) into purchasing a fake Monet painting. In order to bait his buyer, he recruits a Texas rodeo queen (Diaz) to cross the pond and pose as a woman whose grandfather liberated the painting at the end of WWII.

GAMBIT will be released in the U.S. in 2013. In UK cinemas, November 21

Third ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ TV Spot

wolverine-group1

The third and final clip for ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ aired last night on Fox. Â  This one is title ‘Legends’.

Check it out:

While it doesn’t have the epic feel that ‘Brothers’ has, it’s still quite awesome. Â  I love that they’re bringing in a young Cyclops, and I hope there are a lot more surprises like that throughout the movie.

Like I’ve said before, my only real concern for this film is that it’s been said it is well under two hours long. Â  I just don’t want it to feel rushed. Â  The original ‘X-Men’ is 104 minutes long, and it feels kind of rushed. Â  ‘X2’ took its time, and at 133 minutes, it didn’t seem too long nor did it feel rushed in any way. Â  ‘X-Men: The Last Stand’ was back to 104 minutes, and it’s insane how rushed that film feels.

What do you think? Â  What would be a perfect running time for ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’? Â  What did you think of the three clips they ran on Fox? Â  Did you actually watch any of them live? Â  Let us know by commenting below!

New Gambit photo from ‘Wolverine’

gambitlatinoreview

New photo from ‘Wolverine’ shows how badass Gambit is going to be in the movie, and yes the Latino Review logo really is in the movie! (not really). Thanks for the photo from our good friends at Latino Review.

Taylor Kitsch is going to rock this role, and I cant wait to see just how badass he is in it since we have been missing Gambit in the previous 3 ‘X-Men’ movies.

First Pic of Gambit from ‘Wolverine’

Here we have the first look at Gambit from the new ‘Wolverine’ film courtesy of Empire Magazine. Â  The card-carrying (literally) mutant who can manipulate kinetic energy is played by Taylor Kitsch (Friday Night Lights).

Not sure if Kitsch was the perfect choice for this role, but it’s great to see the talented actor getting such a prime part in a huge movie.

What do you think of Gambit’s look? Â  Let us know below!

On a side note, if you’re not watching Friday Night Lights, you are missing out on the absolute best series television has to offer. Â  Be sure to check it out when it comes back to NBC in January.
