Another Trailer and Stills FROM PARIS WITH LOVE

At some point, the cinema Gods looked at January 5th, 2010 and proclaimed that it would be known as Pierre Morel Day.   Not only has word come down today that the director is taking over directing duties on the forthcoming DUNE project, but his next film, FROM PARIS WITH LOVE, has a brand spanking new trailer and a few new still, as well.

The trailer can be viewed over at Apple in HD.   It offers a lot of the same explosive action and subtle(?) vulgarity from John Travolta.   In a nutshell, it looks like all kinds of fun.   I’m still not entirely sold on Jonathan Rhys Meyers playing the goofy but straight lead, trying to keep up with Travolta blowing up half of France.   Nonetheless, this looks like one more, cool actioner for Morel to hang under his belt.

FROM PARIS WITH a Couple of Sweet Posters

Etes-vous pret pour certaines ass-kicking?

Pierre Morel, you have captured my action-loving heart, and, it seems, you are not likely to give it back any time soon.  The director of DISTRICT B13 and TAKEN has a new movie coming out early next year, and it is called FROM PARIS WITH LOVE.  It features John Travolta, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, and lots of two, very important things in an action movie: cussing and people getting holes blown through them.  This was pretty well-indicated by the red band trailer we ran back in September.

Today, courtesy of Crave Online, we have a pair of sweet-looking posters.  At least, Travolta’s is pretty sweet.  Rhys Meyers just looks like a dork trying to act cool.  Travolta, on the other hand, looks like someone who could make your heart stop with a few choice words.

FROM PARIS WITH LOVE is set to hit theaters on February 5th, 2010.

‘From Paris With Love’ With a Hard-Hitting Trailer

Say what you will about this trailer for ‘From Paris With Love,’ it’s certainly hard-hitting.  It still doesn’t answer our questions of whether all those “MFer”s were in the screenplay for ‘Taking of Pelham 123’ or if Travolta just felt the need to improvise most of them.  Jonathan Rhys Meyers seems to be having loads of fun in this one, though, and he could make a progression to action star soon enough.  We’ll see if his Declan returns for ‘Mission: Impossible 4.’

Until then, check out this trailer for Pierre Morel’s latest attempt to blow up his beloved capital, courtesy of Peter and the gang over at /Film:

It is a bit convoluted, and there are some wackier action scenes that you might expect from the guy who did ‘Taken.’  To note, he also did ‘District 13,’ to which, when compared, makes ‘From Paris With Love’ feel like ‘A Room With a View.’

It hits theaters, hard, on February 5th, 2010.
