Harrison Ford & Daniel Craig Whoop It Up In The New COWBOYS & ALIENS Trailer…Plus New Photos Of Olivia Wilde

Time to saddle up. Yahoo! Movies has debuted the new trailer for Universal Pictures’ COWBOYS AND ALIENS. Watch as Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford team up to battle invaders in the Western action/adventure directed by Jon Favreau. Check out the new pictures below after the trailer.

I can’t wait to see this film – its like UNFORGIVEN meets INDEPENDENCE DAY! How totally awesome that Harrison Ford is in this? Sounds like he did in THE FUGITIVE. “I didn’t kill my wife ….You find the One-Armed Man!!” Ford even looks all jacked up like he did in that movie. And the thing on Daniel Craig’s arm makes me think of WESTWORLD too…no? A total throwback to Yul Brenner.

Synopsis:

Blockbuster filmmaker Jon Favreau directs Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford in an event film for summer 2011 that crosses the classic Western with the alien-invasion movie in a blazingly original way: Cowboys & Aliens. Joined by an arsenal of top moviemakers – Steven Spielberg, Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci – he brings an all-new action thriller that will take audiences into the Old West, where a lone cowboy leads an uprising against a terror from beyond our world.

1873. Arizona Territory. A stranger (Craig) with no memory of his past stumbles into the hard desert town of Absolution. The only hint to his history is a mysterious shackle that encircles one wrist. What he discovers is that the people of Absolution don’t welcome strangers, and nobody makes a move on its streets unless ordered to do so by the iron-fisted Colonel Dolarhyde (Ford). It’s a town that lives in fear.

But Absolution is about to experience fear it can scarcely comprehend as the desolate city is attacked by marauders from the sky. Screaming down with breathtaking velocity and blinding lights to abduct the helpless one by one, these monsters challenge everything the residents have ever known.

Now, the stranger they rejected is their only hope for salvation. As this gunslinger slowly starts to remember who he is and where he’s been, he realizes he holds a secret that could give the town a fighting chance against the alien force. With the help of the elusive traveler Ella (Olivia Wilde), he pulls together a posse comprised of former opponents – townsfolk, Dolarhyde and his boys, outlaws and Apache warriors – all in danger of annihilation. United against a common enemy, they will prepare for an epic showdown for survival.

The script for Cowboys & Aliens is by Star Trek’s Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci and Damon Lindelof (television’s Lost), based on Platinum Studios’ graphic novel created by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg. Grazer, Howard, Rosenberg, Kurtzman and Orci produce. Spielberg and Denis L. Stewart executive produce.

From Universal Pictures, COWBOYS AND ALIENS will be in theaters on July 29, 2011.

Chicago Meets Optimus Prime, Bayhem & Tyrese in TRANSFORMERS 3

MichaelBay.com directs us over to this TRANSFORMERS 3 video along with a brief description – “Optimus Prime turns the corner hard followed by an explosion on the corner of Jackson and LaSalle.” Cool beans that this guy got a link from Bay.

I’m all for Bay and his penchant for explosions, but not if its Optimus Prime!! However, I do like the long trailer that Optimus is finally sporting.

On Sunday, Tyrese “Epps” Gibson posted these pictures over on Twitter ( @Tyrese4ReaL). “My New Uniform for Tranformers 3 revealed!!” and “Me & Rosie working hard!! She’s a sweet one!!”

Sam, Optimus and the rest of the usual suspects will be battling Shockwave, the robot cyclops-turned-laser-cannon, who became dictator of Cybertron after the other Autobots and Decepticons journeyed to Earth.

Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura recently told IGN that as far as he’s concerned TRANSFORMERS 3 should be the final film in the franchise.

“I would think so…It may not be the end of the line of Transformers for Hasbro and Paramount,” he laughed. “But I would think so… [Director] Michael [Bay] I’m sure is… He’s spent a lot if years working on one thing.”

Even Bay said as much in an interview with USA Today last month.

“As a trilogy, it really ends,” he says. “It could be rebooted again, but I think it has a really killer ending.”

The third installment stars Shia LaBeouf, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, James Avery (Silverbolt), Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime), Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Frances McDormand, John Malkovich, and Ken Jeong. Directed by Bay, with a screenplay from Ehren Kruger, TRANSFORMERS 3 will be in theaters next summer in 3D on July 1, 2011.
