Ani-Mania DVD Giveaway: ‘Dragonball Evolution’

Welcome to our first version of the Ani-Mania DVD Giveaway, and what better way to start it off then with one of the most popular Anime titles made into a feature full length live action film. I haven’t seen the film YET, but it does star Justin Chatwin who I really dig.

In order to win you need to leave a comment and tell us your favorite Dragonball moment in either the film or the animated version. We will pick the winners at random and will notify you via email.

For those of you that don’t win you can still go out and buy a copy on DVD or Blu-Ray which hit shelves this past Tuesday, July 28th.

Yeah, I know… what’s the point? Hey, this movie has some merit. It’s almost guaranteed to get a Razzie nomination next year, right? OK, I am going to cease the brutal attacks on the film (at least until after I see it) and just offer up the images. Enjoy… wait, is that possible?

New International ‘Dragonball: Evolution’ Trailer

For all of you Dragonball fans out there, a new international trailer hits the streets and it features a lot of action. However, here’s my take… I found the trailer laughably comical, and I don’t think it was meant to be. It looks as though director James Wong is going for a stylistic cross between Zack Snyder (‘300’, ‘Watchmen’) and the Wachowski Brothers (‘The Matrix’, ‘Speed Racer’). Oh, and a little Michael Bay ‘Transformers’ in there too… did you see it? Chow Yun-Fat is sure to be fun, but Justin Chatwin looks ridiculous. The film has apparently been renamed ‘Dragonball: Evolution’ and is set to hit theatres on April 9, 2009. What do you think… will ‘Dragonball: Evolution’ end up being a Hit, or just Sh**?
