The new trailer for ‘Battle for Terra’ has been released.   We bring you this trailer right now:

All in all, it looks like it could be a pretty cool space adventure.   However, I just caught the trailer for ‘9’ this past weekend, and that film is going to be the “must-see” animated film this year.

‘Battle for Terra’ comes out on May 1st and features the voices of Evan Rachel Wood, Brian Cox, Luke Wilson, David Cross, Justin Long, Amanda Peet, Dennis Quaid, Chris Evans, James Garner, Rosanna Arquette and Chad Allen.

‘The Horsemen’ Trailer

Hey, did you hear the one about the serial killer who killed his victims based on the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse? Â  Yeah, it wasn’t that funny, anyway.

‘The Horsemen’ stars Dennis Quaid as a recently widowed detective on the trail of said serial killer. Â  It comes to us from Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes, whose recent film ‘The Unborn’ was the first non-remake they had in release.

You can check out the trailer for ‘The Horsemen’ right here:

The film was directed by Jonas Akerlund (‘Spun’) and also stars Ziyi Zhang, Clifton Collins Jr., Patrick Fugit, Eric Balfour, and Peter Stormare. Â  It goes into limited release on March 13th.

The trailer came from Trailer Addict, but thanks go out to Alex over at First Showing for giving us the heads up.

International Poster for ‘The Horsemen’

Above you see the international poster for ‘The Horsemen’, the new thriller by Swedish filmmaker Jonas Akerlund. Â  For a point of reference on the director, he’s the guy who directed the controversial music video for The Prodigy’s “Smack My Bitch Up”. Â  He also directed the underrated, drug movie ‘Spun’ in 2002.

‘The Horsemen’ follows Dennis Quaid as a  recently widowed detective still grieving over his wife’s death.   He  discovers a shocking connection between himself and the suspects in a serial killing spree linked to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

That poster is pretty damned creepy. Â  I’m sure the MPAA will never let anything like that get a release in the states.

What do you think? Â  Does the film sound intriguing to you? Â  Does it sound a little too much like ‘Seven’? Â  Whatever happened to The Prodigy? Â  Let us know by commenting below!

Review: ‘Smart People’ on DVD

‘Smart People’ is a movie that takes on the lives of some truly gifted and intelligent people who struggle with the skills of living daily life in the real world. Unlike other well-made but less realistic movies such as ‘Good Will Hunting’, this film from Noam Murrow, written by Mark Poirier, delves beneath the sharp-tongued exteriors of the family Wetherhold and exposes their most delicate weakness, which is how to deal with life as it truly is… imperfect. While college professor Lawrence (Dennis Quaid) and his daughter Vanessa (Ellen Page) pride themselves as being intellectually flawless, they cannot grasp what it takes to move past the death of Vanessa’s mother and wife to Lawrence.

Seven years has passed and Lawrence is miserable, passionate about literature but is unable to effectively transfer that passion onto his students. He’s seen as pompous and arrogant and uninterested in even trying to make a difference in his classes. After an accident, he winds up in the hospital and meets a slightly younger female physician named Janet (Sarah Jessica Parker) who turns out to be a former student of Lawrence’s who once had a crush on her professor. Janet secretly still wonders about that lingering ember and the two soon find themselves exploring that feeling and discover it has an awkwardly mutual appeal. However, Lawrence eventually finds his insecurity and inability to live in the present and let the past stay in the past rising to separate him from his relationship with Janet.
