New ANNIE Movie Poster

Time to “stick out your chin and grin and say…” The new poster for Sony Pictures’ upcoming movie ANNIE was revealed today.

Academy Award nominee Quvenzhané Wallis (Beasts of the Southern Wild) stars as Annie, a young, happy foster kid who’s also tough enough to make her way on the streets of New York in 2014.

Originally left by her parents as a baby with the promise that they’d be back for her someday, it’s been a hard knock life ever since with her mean foster mom Miss Hannigan (Cameron Diaz). But everything’s about to change when the hard-nosed tycoon and New York mayoral candidate Will Stacks (Jamie Foxx) – advised by his brilliant VP, Grace (Rose Byrne) and his shrewd and scheming campaign advisor, Guy (Bobby Cannavale) – makes a thinly-veiled campaign move and takes her in. Stacks believes he’s her guardian angel, but Annie’s self-assured nature and bright, sun-will-come-out-tomorrow outlook on life just might mean it’s the other way around.

A Broadway classic that has delighted audiences for generations comes to the big screen with a new, contemporary vision in Columbia Pictures’ comedy ANNIE.

Celia Costas and Alicia Emmrich serve as Executive Producers. The screenplay is by Will Gluck and Aline Brosh McKenna, based on the musical stage play “Annie.”

ANNIE will be in theaters December 19.

New SKYLINE Poster… Ain’t It Grand?

“Don’t look up” is reinforced in this new, exclusive poster from ComingSoon. How’s that for some gloom and doom on a Friday?

Synopsis:

After a late night party, a group of friends are awoken in the dead of the night by an eerie light beaming through the window. Like moths to a flame, the light source is drawing people outside before they suddenly vanish into the air. They soon discover an otherwordly force is swallowing the entire human population off the face of the earth. Now our band of survivors must fight for their lives as the world unravels around them.

In case you missed it, here’s another look at the teaser trailer for Universal Pictures SKYLINE.

SKYLINE is directed and produced by the Brothers Strause (ALIEN vs. PREDATOR: REQUIEM), whose company Hydraulx has provided visual effects for AVATAR, IRON MAN 2, THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON and 300. From Rogue Pictures and Universal Pictures, SKYLINE stars Eric Balfour, Scottie Thompson, Donald Faison, David Zayas and Crystal Reed and will be in theaters on November 12th, 2010.

SKYLINE Alien Invasion Trailer

If I told you that strange lights were descending on the city of Los Angeles, drawing people outside like moths to a flame, where an extraterrestrial force was threatening to swallow the entire human population off the face of the Earth, would you be mildly worried? Hell, I know I’d be. Even the tagline “Don’t Look Up” warns us in this first teaser trailer for Universal Pictures SKYLINE. Man, whatever happened to the “we come in peace” aliens of CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND?

I’d say this the part where we all put on our coneshaped, tin-foiled hats so that the aliens can’t read our thoughts. Ahem. But we all know who accurately predicted  how things would go down with meeting aliens. Not Hawking, but Dr. Peter Venkman of GHOSTBUSTERS 2. He warned us years ago on his show “World of the Psychic” when he said, “… and that is the whole problem with aliens is you just can’t trust them. Occasionally you meet a nice once: Star Man, E.T… But usually they turn out to be some kind of big lizard!”
