BRUNO hits shelves on November 17th and here is what you can expect on the bonus features. This is a scene that didn’t make it into the movie but it’s ridiculously funny. Remember boys and girls, if you cheat on baseball someone is waiting out there to prank you.
There is little doubt out there that Sacha Baron Cohen’s gay, Austrian fashionista will top the box office charts this coming weekend. The question is, how well will it do? Will it top the numbers Cohen generated three years with ‘Borat,’ or will it fall short of the $26.4 million take that film opened at? Continue reading Box Office Battle: Bruno Vs. Scrat
If The Refreshments taught us anything, it was that the world is full of stupid people. If it weren’t, Sacha Baron Cohen would surely be out of a job. Three years ago, he brought one of the strange characters from his “Da Ali G Show” to the big screen with ‘Borat.’ That film was among one of the funniest films of the year, as Cohen strung his many mock interviews and scenes of real people acting really stupid into a cohesive narrative. Now, with ‘Bruno,’ he does much the same thing in much the same fashion. Continue reading Review: ‘Bruno’
Apparently Pauly Shore has a movie called ‘Adopted’ and is looking to sue Sacha Baron Cohen for the baby adoption gag in his new movie ‘Bruno’. The tagline for Shore’s movie was “First there was Angelina, then Madonna, and now Pauly!”. Here is the trailer from ‘Adopted’:
After watching the ‘Bruno’ promos we all know that he drops a very similar line in the movie so I could see where Pauly Shore is coming from, but honestly id rather just see a cage fight between the two. We get this from NY Daily News:
There may be more trouble brewing for Sacha Baron Cohen. Comedian Pauly Shore is the latest person to threaten the “Bruno†star with legal action, claiming that an adopted-baby bit in the upcoming “Bruno†bears a striking resemblance to the trailer and tag line for his 2007 film, “Adopted.†Shore tells us he has contacted his attorney and is waiting to take legal action against Baron Cohen…
What do you guys think? Resemblance or just Pauly trying to get in the spotlight again? I love Pauly so you better go with the first answer so I don’t web stalk you and make you change your mind.

The overall design of the poster is nothing to brag about. Â There really isn’t any way of selling this film with one, single image (unless it’s the black and white pic of Burno holding the black baby that you can find right here). Â However, it’s the little intricacies that make this poster so ingenious. Â From that ingenious tagline that makes us think Bruno and Borat might have some kind of conflict amongst them, to the sporadic usage of the umlaut, to the fact that you have to go to www.meinspace.com/bruno, this poster is loaded with hilarious little Easter eggs.
Word came down yesterday from Universal’s PR department (via Twitter, no less) that Sacha Baron Cohen’s new comedy, ‘Bruno,’ had been granted its R rating for “Pervasive strong and crude sexual content, graphic nudity and language.” This news comes a few weeks after the news that the MPAA had slapped the film with an NC-17.
There is no word yet on how much or what was cut out of the film in order to attain the R rating. However, Coming Soon.net was treated to some new stills from the film. In addition to the one above, we have three more.
Didn’t get a chance to catch the ‘Bruno’ footage at SXSW (sorry, Sam Raimi returning to horror won out), but buzz was it was absolutely hilarious and twice as offensive as ‘Borat.’Â In fact, word came earlier this week that ‘Bruno’s first viewing by the MPAA garnered the film an NC-17 rating.
Today, we bring to you the international, red band trailer.
Check it out:
“That is such a Samantha thing to say.”
It’s red band, people, so don’t watch it at work. It is, however, very hilarious.
‘Bruno’ was destined to get the NC-17 treatment, so now the fighting begins. Here are some of the reasons it was slapped with the NC17 rating:
Among the objectionable scenes is one in which Bruno — a gay Austrian fashionista played by Baron Cohen — appears to have anal sex with a man on camera. In another, the actor goes on a hunting trip and sneaks naked into the tent of one of the fellow hunters, an unsuspecting non-actor.
Wow, that sounds like the exact same thing ‘Borat’ did, except this time he has a different name and different accent. How original..thanks to /film for the heads up!
As if I wasn’t excited enough to attend my first ever South by Southwest Film Festival this week and next, along comes even more news as to what we will be seeing in Austin. Â This Sunday, March 15th, Universal Pictures will be showing a sneak peek at footage of the new Sacha Baron Cohen comedy ‘Bruno.’
The footage will be a part of Fantastic Fest and will show at 11:00 PM at the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar. Â There is no charge to see the footage and no badge is required. Â Just show up (preferabely a couple of hours beforehand) and get your seat.
