More Nick Fury Cameos on the Way.

Samuel L. Jackson doesn’t want to wait three years for another pay day, He wants a steady gig. Jackson who first donned the eye patch in a cameo at the end of Ironman is set to play Nick Fury in the new Avengers Movie and a 2010 Nick Fury Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. film.   But that’s not enough for this retired Jedi master..he wants cameos in Captain America, Thor, and Ironman2!   Personally I say do it! Marvel interweaving the stories together building to a blockbuster Avengers film is great!

Those sweet bootleg trailers for ‘TR2N’ and ‘Wolverine’

Hope you like hunting, because it seems like the powers that be are busy taking those comic-con clips down just as fast as they are going up.

The ‘Wolverine’ clip was way better than I expected. Actually, it was way way better. How awesome does Liev Schreiber look as Sabretooth? And that little glimpse of Gambit… could this movie be the the kickass surprise that Wolverine fans have been hoping for? Might just be.

‘Tron 2,’ or ‘TR2N,’ was a complete WTF moment for me. I completely forgot this movie was even happening. I mean, there’s been talk of a ‘Tron’ sequel for, well, since forever. The trailer – even in bootleg “assvision” – looks pretty damn cool. Plus, they got Jeff Bridges to reprise his role from the original. Now, I would usually be really wary of a sequel nearly thirty years late, but color me excited. To quote a friend’s text message concerning the matter: “Luks fugn rad”

Luks fugn rad, indeed.

p.s. If you’re looking for these clips on Youtube, then prepare to be Rickrolled…

‘Harry Potter & the Half Blood Prince’ Teaser Trailer

Here’s the first “real” teaser trailer for ‘Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince’ … not that stupid little thing that appeared in front of ‘The Dark Knight’ where all we get is a black screen and a mysterious voice over asking for Harry’s help once more, then climaxing with the movie’s title logo. Nope, this is an actual teaser trailer with actual footage in it. [Courtesy of MovieFone.com]

Aldous Snow is Back!

Russell Brand and Jonah Hill are both  reprising their roles from   “Forgetting Sarah Marshall”, Aldous Snow (Brand) and fanatical fan Matthew (Hill), are  set to star in the upcoming spin-off  “Get Him To The Greek”.   The story line in Greek is “Snow has fallen off the wagon and Matthew must get him to the Greek theater in time for the show to save the tour”. Nicholas Stoller who directed Sarah Marshall has written and will be directing Get Him To The Greek. Judd Apatow is also back as executive producer. This should be hilarious. Get Him to the Greek is in production and is due in theaters in summer 2009

Harry Potter stays in the Fiennes Family!

Hero Fiennes-Tiffin, nephew of Ralph Fiennes, has been cast to play the young Tom Riddle who grows up to become the evil Lord Voldemort (the role made famous by his uncle). Above is a scene featuring Hero in the new Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Potter and the rest of the Hogwort’s gang will be back in theaters November 21st.

Spread the ‘Blindness’

Earlier this month, Miramax Films released the movie trailer for the upcoming thriller ‘Blindness’ from the brilliant director Fernando Meirelles (City of God and The Constant Gardener) and starring Julianne Moore, Mark Ruffalo, Danny Glover,  and Alice Braga.  Based on a novel by Nobel Prize winner Jose Saramago, ‘Blindness’ is an apocalyptic fable about a plague of blindness ravaging first one man, then a city, then the entire globe, with devastating fury and speed.

The “Doctor’s Wife” (Moore)  becomes the only person with the ability to see in a  world where everyone is struck with a mysterious case of sudden blindness, the “White Sickness.” When all the victims are rounded up and  quarantined at  a crumbling, insane asylum, she  pretends to be blind  in order to take care of her husband,  “The Doctor” (Ruffalo).  Amongst chaos and fear, the “Doctor’s Wife” is the only one left to lead  the blind back from the brink of destruction. ‘Blindness’ is scheduled for a late September release.

‘Prince of Persia’ Details Revealed …

More news regarding Prince of Persia….

“Prince of Persia” creator Jordan Mechner appeared at San Diego Comic-Con where he discussed the upcoming “Prince of Persia” Disney movie, which is currently in development. [via IGN]

He said that the film will be based on the “Sands of Time” game, revealing that the script does not literally follow the storyline of the game. Mechner added that he does not expect any potential film sequels to be based on the subsequent games “Warrior Within” and “The Two Thrones” since they took the game’s storyline in a different direction. Nothing from either of those games, including characters, will be in the current movie.

Mechner said that adapting an interactive experience into a non-interactive one means re-conceiving the story. The challenge of the script was in writing an entirely new story than the game even if it has the same meaning, plot elements, and characters as the game. The movie has to be different because it is engineered to be played while the film is a spectator experience. Mechner wants the viewer to be taken on an emotional journey and to care about the characters so that way it’s not all just about fighting monsters and action set-pieces.

Unlike his game counterpart, the title character in the movie to be played by Jake Gyllenhaal will have a name. Mechner said that he chose the name “Dastan” for the prince because he believes its an old Persian name that means “trickster.”

Mechner wants the story to offer viewers a journey that takes them to more places than just a castle. Due to secrecy, he would not reveal what powers the prince might have in the movie or discuss key plot elements. He expects the film to be rated PG or PG-13 and for its level of violence to be along the lines of other summer blockbusters such as “Pirates of the Caribbean.”

Why the heck do they have Gyllenhall playing a Persian Prince?
