‘Jennifers Body’ gets a release date!

Love ‘er or hate ‘er, I think more than a few of us are anticipating the release of Diablo Cody’s (Juno) newest project, which she wrote and Karyn Kusama (Girlfight, Aeon Flux) is directing. The new horror comedy, starring Megan Fox, is reportedly set to hit theaters on September 18, 2009.

In the film, a gorgeous cheerleader (Fox) is possessed by a demon and starts feeding off the boys in a small Minnesota farming town. Her “plain Jane” best friend must kill her, then escape from a correctional facility to go after the Satan-worshiping rock band responsible for the horrible transformation. — ComingSoon.net

Sneak Peek at the ‘Night at the Museum 2’ Trailer

I know every last one of you have been eagerly anticipating this sequel, so you should be uncontrollably ecstatic to know that the first ‘NATM2’ trailer has made it’s way onto the Internets. Although, it appears McDonalds has a stranglehold on the marketing because HappyMeal.com is the only place you can see it right now. Twenty bucks says McDonalds will have the Happy Meal toy gig for this one…

Upon viewing, it pretty much looks like more of the same typical Ben Stiller humor combined with big kid-friendly special effects. However, I was pleased to see that Jonah Hill has a part in this one and it does still have an impressive cast including Amy Adams, Owen Wilson, Eugene Levy (as Einstein), Ricky Gervais, Bill Hader, Steve Coogan, Hank Azaria, Christopher Guest, Craig Robinson and Dick Van Dyke.

Yes, even more (bad) ‘Dragonball’ pictures…

I can’t help myself. Every time I see new pictures from or news about the upcoming ‘Dragonball’ movie I just have to share. Call it my evil, cynical side… I just can’t see how this movie is going to be any good, except for a hardy laugh! Here’s a new image of Piccolo, who apparently IS going to be green?

[Psst… if you look really close, you’ll see that apparently only Piccolo’s head is green.]

‘Observe and Report’ pictures surfacing

Seth Rogen as a mall security cop, it doesn’t get any better than that… unless of course he is making a porno with Elizabeth Banks.

‘Observe and Report’ stars Seth Rogen as Ronnie Barnhardt, a mall cop at odds with his local law enforcement in this comedy from The Foot Fist Way’s writer/director Jody Hill. Anna Faris co-stars as a mall employee who’s the object of Ronnie’s desire, with Ray Liotta filling the shoes of a troublemaker cop. Legendary Pictures presents the feature for Warner Bros., with Donald De Line handling producing duties. ~ Jeremy Wheeler, All Movie Guide

I am stoked about this movie because Rogen is currently rocking the top of his game and everything he is putting out is pure comedy gold. Watch out Judd Apatow, on April 10th Rogen might take over your spot.

‘Brothers Bloom’ gets hurled into May 09 release?

Rian Johnson’s (Brick) new movie ‘The Brothers Bloom’ was set to receive a limited release on December 19, but Summit Entertainment has just recently chosen to push this date all the way back to May 2009. The film will receive a wider release two weeks after this initial opening.

May of 2009 has several large movies hitting theaters, but Summit is banking on a “different” type of audience seeing ‘Brothers Bloom’ over it’s competition, which will include ‘Angels & Demons’, ‘Night at the Museum 2’ and ‘Terminator: Salvation’.

I got to see ‘The Brothers Bloom’ during the St. Louis International Film Festival and it was great. The film follows two brothers, experienced veterans of the confidence game and celebrities in the underworld of con-men. Adrien Brody plays the brother who is tired of his life of lies and wants to escape into a “normal” life, but his brother, played by Mark Ruffalo, simply won’t let him ignore his manipulative ways.

New International ‘Dragonball: Evolution’ Trailer

For all of you Dragonball fans out there, a new international trailer hits the streets and it features a lot of action. However, here’s my take… I found the trailer laughably comical, and I don’t think it was meant to be. It looks as though director James Wong is going for a stylistic cross between Zack Snyder (‘300’, ‘Watchmen’) and the Wachowski Brothers (‘The Matrix’, ‘Speed Racer’). Oh, and a little Michael Bay ‘Transformers’ in there too… did you see it? Chow Yun-Fat is sure to be fun, but Justin Chatwin looks ridiculous. The film has apparently been renamed ‘Dragonball: Evolution’ and is set to hit theatres on April 9, 2009. What do you think… will ‘Dragonball: Evolution’ end up being a Hit, or just Sh**?

‘Watchmen’ gets cut again!

The movie that has graphic fans raving is having a little trouble with time. Director  Zack Snyder has been doing all he can to ensure that his new movie Watchmen brings the graphic novel faithfully to the silver screen. However  it  looks like the director has finally succumbed to demands from the studio, which is shortening the film even more from its two hour and thirty five marker. In an  interview Zach  Snyder said, “The movie’s pretty long… compared to 300, which was an hour and 58 minutes. The director’s cut [of Watchmen] is about three hours and 10 minutes long. It has even more than the theatrical version, as far as the detail that gets even closer to the graphic novel.” So there you go…
