Del Toro wants original ‘Lord of the Rings’ cast …

It is being reported that Guillermo Del Toro wants to have the original Lord of the Rings cast for The Hobbit.

Cinematical reports that Ian Mckellen (Gandalf) and Andy Serkis (Gollum) are on board to reprise their roles.

“Further confirmation of McKellen’s intention to return comes from McKellen’s official website (which he maintains himself), where he includes The Hobbit in his filmography. And Serkis seems to have done the same.”

I wasn’t really stoked on this movie before, but hearing that some of the original guys are on board to complete the blending of this with the trilogy really excites me.

Anytime I hear anything about Lord of the Rings, it brings me back to that faithful scene in Clerks 2 …

Randal Graves: All right, look, there’s only one “Return,” okay, and it ain’t “of the King,” it’s “of the Jedi.”
Hobbit Lover: Oh, Star Wars geek.
Randal Graves: Oh, I’m the geek? Look at you two whipping out your preciouses.

Randal Graves: Oh, I’m crazy? Those fuckin’ hobbit movies were boring as hell. All it was, was a bunch of people walking, three movies of people walking to a fucking volcano.

Rose McGowan fights back ‘Barbarella’ at rumors …

Apparently there have been rumors swirling around about the remake of Barbarella not happening because they want a bigger name actress. Well Rose McGowan has a few things to say about that:

“The decision to cast McGowan in the role made famous by Jane Fonda, has faced criticism – because her boyfriend Robert Rodriguez is directing the movie. It was rumored producers were unhappy with Rodriguez’s choice of lead actress, and have threatened to shelve the project unless he re-casts. But the former Charmed star insists there is no truth to the reports, claiming a delay in production is due to a potential actors strike which could hit the film industry later this year. She tells British magazine Heat, “It (the rumor) was irritating, very malicious and there was no proof.””

Yet another reason as to why this whole Actor’s Strike is going to SUCK. Come on you high priced actors … don’t strike!

Danielle Panabaker in new ‘Friday the 13th’

For fans of Shark, Danielle Panabaker has signed on to play the female lead in the new Friday the 13th movie …

Yahoo gives us this:

“The New Line project, an update of the popular series featuring the goalie mask-wielding killer Jason, already features Jared Padalecki (the CW’s “Supernatural”) in the cast.

Panabaker will play an adventurous, athletic type, whose boyfriend (played by Travis van Winkle, “Meet the Spartans”) is a rich alpha-male type.

Also joining the cast like lambs to the slaughter are Aaron Yoo (“Disturbia”), as a quirky guy who has a tendency to wear his attraction to pretty girls on his sleeve, and Jonathan Sadowski (the upcoming “Spring Breakdown”) as a techie who knows the horrific history of Camp Crystal Lake, the film’s infamous setting. Marcus Nispel (“The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”) is directing.”
