007 SKYFALL Teaser Poster Is Here – First Trailer On May 21st!

The first SKYFALL teaser poster has debuted over on 007.com and in high-res too. Your first look at the trailer for the new James Bond film will arrive on Monday, May 21st on the movie’s official website.

Daniel Craig is back as James Bond 007 in Skyfall, the 23rd adventure in the longest-running film franchise of all time. In Skyfall, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost. The film also stars Judi Dench, Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Bérénice Marlohe, Albert Finney, Ben Whishaw, Helen McCrory and Rory Kinear.

The film, from Albert R. Broccoli’s Eon Productions, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, and Sony Pictures Entertainment, is directed by Academy Award® winner Sam Mendes and stars Daniel Craig, who returns for his third film as James Bond 007. The screenplay is written by Neal Purvis & Robert Wade and John Logan. SKYFALL, which went into production on Monday, November 7th, will begin its worldwide roll-out in the UK and Ireland on October 26th, 2012 and in North America on November 9th, 2012.

Sam Raimi Presents – THE POSSESSION Trailer

Based on a true story, check out the scary trailer for THE POSSESSION – the terrifying story of how one family must unite in order to survive the wrath of an unspeakable evil.

Clyde (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Stephanie Brenek (Kyra Sedgwick) see little cause for alarm when their youngest daughter Em becomes oddly obsessed with an antique wooden box she purchased at a yard sale. But as Em’s behavior becomes increasingly erratic, the couple fears the presence of a malevolent force in their midst, only to discover that the box was built to contain a dibbuk, a dislocated spirit that inhabits and ultimately devours its human host.

The film is rated PG-13 for mature thematic material involving violence and disturbing sequences

THE GOOD DOCTOR Trailer Stars Orlando Bloom – Premieres on VOD July 27 And Open In theaters August 31

But things take a dark turn as his enthusiasm begins to become an obsession.

Exclusive Media/Cross Creek Pictures Deal – A WALK AMONG THE TOMBSTONES Starring Liam Neeson

Exclusive Media and Cross Creek Pictures have entered into a three year 50-50 co-financing, co-producing, co-development deal for a minimum of two feature films per annum with budgets up to $65m. All films under this new arrangement will be released theatrically in the US through Cross Creek’s slate distribution deal with Universal Pictures. Exclusive Media will retain and sell international rights to the titles. The announcement was made today by Exclusive Media Co-Chairmen Nigel Sinclair and Guy East and Cross Creek President, Brian Oliver.

Following the partnership on Ron Howard’s RUSH, also to be released through Cross Creek’s distribution deal with Universal Pictures, the first film being produced and financed under this new far reaching arrangement is the thriller A WALK AMONG THE TOMBSTONES starring Liam Neeson (TAKEN). Written and to be directed by Scott Frank (THE LOOKOUT), the film is one of the popular ‘Matt Scudder’ book series written by Lawrence Block.

Double Feature Films partners Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher are producing with Danny DeVito and his company, Jersey Films. Principal photography is set to start in February 2013 on location in New York City.

“We feel like we won the trifecta by getting the one star who is perfect for Scott’s great script that he was born to direct,” said Shamberg and Sher.

Formerly a cop with the NYPD, now an unlicensed private eye and a recovering alcoholic haunted by past mistakes, Matt Scudder (NEESON) is hired to find the kidnapped wife of a drug dealer. He operates just outside the law where the police don’t go to track down the kidnappers, who he discovers have been involved in multiple kidnappings and brutal murders.

“We have long enjoyed a fulfilling business partnership with Brian and his team at Cross Creek, creating success with THE IDES OF MARCH, THE WOMAN IN BLACK and now RUSH, among others. We feel very confident to formalise and strengthen our development, financing and production arrangement with Brian and we are thrilled to start this new chapter with such a commercial project,” commented Nigel Sinclair and Guy East.

Exclusive Media’s COO Marc Schipper negotiated the development and production deal with Cross Creek’s Brian Oliver. Tobin Armbrust, Exclusive Media’s President of Worldwide Production and Acquisitions will be overseeing the new relationship.

The arrangement also gives both companies the first opportunity right to co-finance and co-produce pictures outside those set for the Universal pipeline.

In addition to the picture by picture financing responsibilities, both companies are jointly creating a six figure revolving development fund to source additional properties.

Alex Walton, Exclusive Media’s President of International Sales and Distribution will introduce A WALK AMONG THE TOMBSTONES to overseas buyers at the Cannes Film Market.

Oscar nominee Liam Neeson is one of Hollywood’s most in-demand actors having starred in three hit films released in 2012 so far: Open Road Films’ THE GREY opposite Dermot Mulroney and Frank Grillo, Warner Bros. Pictures’ WRATH OF THE TITANS opposite Sam Worthington and Ralph Fiennes, and Universal’s BATTLESHIP co-starring Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgård and Rihanna, with the last two films currently in theatres. He will next be seen in the highly anticipated final installment in Christopher Nolan’s Batman franchise, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES to be released in July. He also starred in the worldwide box office hit TAKEN opposite Maggie Grace and will be reprising his role as Bryan Mills in the sequel, TAKEN 2 to be distributed in October via 20th Century Fox. Neeson was nominated for an Oscar for his performance in Steven Spielberg’s SCHLINDER’S LIST.

Writer/director Scott Frank was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for Steven Soderbergh’s OUT OF SIGHT, starring George Clooney and Jennifer Lopez. His extensive writing credits include GET SHORTY, MINORITY REPORT, THE INTERPRETER, and MARLEY AND ME. He made his impressive feature film directing debut with the critically acclaimed THE LOOKOUT starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jeff Daniels, Matthew Goode and Isla Fisher, which he also wrote and was released through Miramax Films. The film won the Best First Feature Award at the Independent Spirit Awards.

Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher have extensive credits including CONTAGION and WORLD TRADE CENTER. Along with DeVito, their hits also include GET SHORTY, OUT OF SIGHT, GATTACA, ALONG CAME POLLY, and MAN ON THE MOON. Shamberg has been nominated for two Academy Awards for Best Picture, first for Lawrence Kasdan’s THE BIG CHILL followed by Steven Soderbergh’s ERIN BROCKOVICH which he shared with Stacey Sher and Danny DeVito.

DeVito, Shamberg and Sher were executive producers on Quentin Tarantino’s iconic PULP FICTION. Sher is producing and Shamberg is executive producing his next film, DJANGO UNCHAINED, which is in production and stars Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz, and Samuel L. Jackson out in theatres at Christmas through The Weinstein Company and Sony Pictures. Shamberg and Sher are also currently producing Runner Runner for New Regency starring Justin Timberlake and Ben Affleck. DeVito, Shamberg, and Sher are in pre-production on MANHUNT starring Gerard Butler. DeVito recently produced ST. SEBASTIAN, which he also directed, starring William Fichtner, Lance Reddick and Constance Zimmer.

Exclusive Media and Cross Creek Pictures have already been enjoying a fruitful partnership having jointly co-produced George Clooney’s THE IDES OF MARCH with Smokehouse Pictures, the box office hit THE WOMAN IN BLACK starring Daniel Radcliffe released by CBS Films and the highly anticipated RUSH directed by Ron Howard and starring Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Brühl. Currently in production, RUSH is also produced with Imagine Entertainment, Working Title, Brian Grazer, and Revolution Films. Universal Pictures will release the film in the US in 2013. The companies also recently announced their collaboration on Exclusive Media’s Hammer label titles BONESHAKER and THE WOMAN IN BLACK follow up, THE WOMAN IN BLACK: ANGELS OF DEATH from a story by Susan Hill and produced with Talisman and Alliance Films.

Exclusive Media is a major force in the production and international distribution arena. Lightning Entertainment Acquires International Rights To WHOLE LOTTA SOLE Starring Brendan Fraser & Timur Bekmambetov’s 3D Animated KIKORIKI: TEAM INVINCIBLE

Dynamic international distribution company Lightning Entertainment has picked up international rights to two new feature films making their market premieres; the comedy WHOLE LOTTA SOLE starring Brendan Fraser (THE MUMMY franchise) and directed by Oscar winner Terry George (HOTEL RWANDA) and KIKORIKI: TEAM INVINCIBLE, the Russian 3D animated-adventure comedy film from the Riki Group and produced by Timur Bekmambetov (WANTED), it was announced today by Robert Beaumont, President of Lightning Entertainment.

The dramatic comedy WHOLE LOTTA SOLE world premiered at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival and received rave reviews from critics, whilst KIKORIKI comes to the market hot on the heels of its impressive $8.5 million box office run in its native Russia.

“Lightning continues to acquire top-notch material to present to international buyers with WHOLE LOTTA SOLE from the talented Terry George and the Russian animated adventure, KIKORIKI: TEAM INVINCIBLE from powerhouse producer Timur Bekmambetov,” commented Beaumont. “Both films are highly accessible, crowd-pleasing and most importantly, thoroughly entertaining features with universal appeal,” he continued.

Acclaimed Irish filmmaker George won an Oscar this year for his live-action short film, THE SHORE starring Ciaran Hinds.  George has been nominated twice before;  Best Original Screenplay for Don Cheadle starrer HOTEL RWANDA which he also directed and produced and Best Adapted Screenplay for IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER co-written with Jim Sheridan and starring Daniel Day-Lewis, which was nominated for an additional six Oscars. He also directed Focus Features’ RESERVATION ROAD starring Joaquin Phoenix, Mark Ruffalo, Jennifer Connelly and Mira Sorvino.

WHOLE LOTTA SOLE tells the story of Jimbo, who in a misguided attempt to protect his family and pay back gambling debts to the local mobster, robs a fish market which is owned by the same gangland boss Mad Dog Flynn and finds himself in a hostage standoff surrounded by the police.

Martin McCann (CLASH OF THE TITANS) stars as Jimbo alongside leading comedic actor Fraser (THE MUMMY franchise), Colm Meaney (THE DAMNED UNITED), YaYa DaCosta (THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT) and David O’Hara (HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS: PART 1).

WHOLE LOTTA SOLE is written by Thomas Gallagher and George, who also produces with Simon Bosanquet (upcoming ROMEO AND JULIET), David Gorder (X MEN: THE LAST STAND) and Jay Russell (THE WATER HORSE). WME is handling domestic rights in the US.  Richard S. Guardian negotiated the deal for Lightning Entertainment and is serving as a consultant on the film for Lightning.

3D animated film, KIKORIKI: TEAM INVINCIBLE is an family friendly adventure comedy produced by Ilya Popov and veteran producer/director Timur Bekmambetov, the director/producer behind Universal’s hit action blockbuster WANTED starring Angelina Jolie and 20th Century Fox’s upcoming ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER, produced with Tim Burton.

Based on the internationally successful Russian animated series of the same name, this first film in the series is written by Alexei Lebedev and directed by Denis Chernov. The English language version screening at the market is written by a US team led by Mike de Seve, who was a storyline consultant on two of DreamWorks’ worldwide box office animated hits, SHREK THE THIRD and MONSTERS VS ALIENS.   KIKORIKI: TEAM INVINCIBLE marks the first full-length Russian film production to be made in stereoscopic 3D.

The film centers on the lovable inhabitants of the remote island of Kikoriki. They have it all: big laughs, good friends, and a distant paradise unspoiled by modern woes. But the lives of the Kikoriki gang are suddenly turned upside-down when they stumble on a strange device they had only heard about – a television.

Lightning’s high profile Cannes slate also includes LOVE AND HONOR starring Liam Hemsworth (THE HUNGER GAMES) making its market debut in Cannes; the star-studded comedy STRUCK BY LIGHTNING starring Glee’s Chris Colfer and Rebel Wilson (BRIDESMAIDS) which emerged as a hit at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival and also makes its market debut in Cannes; the comedy THE HOT FLASHES starring Brooke Shields, Daryl Hannah, Virginia Madsen, Camryn Manheim and Wanda Sykes; the comedy SERVITUDE starring Joe Dinicol (the CW’s The L.A. Complex), written by Michael Sparaga (SIDEKICK) and directed by acclaimed film director Warren P. Sonoda (TEXTUALITY), also screening for the first time at a market; the thrillers BLACK SOUTH-EASTER and ONE LAST LOOK and family film HEAVEN’S DOOR starring Charisma Carpenter (upcoming THE EXPENDABLES 2) and Joanna Cassidy (HBO’s Six Feet Under). The Academy’s 2012 Nicholl Screenwriting Competition Receives Record Number 7,197 Entries

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting competition has received a record 7,197 entries for 2012, up from last year’s record of 6,730. The Academy will award up to five fellowships of $35,000 each in November.

This year, entries came from all 50 states in the U.S. as well as from 65 other countries. The competition includes first-time entries from Estonia, Indonesia, Latvia, Liechtenstein and Nicaragua.

“It’s been amazing to watch the Nicholl Fellowships entries climb from 99 in 1986 to a record of nearly 7,200 this year,” said Nicholl Fellowship Committee Chair Gale Anne Hurd. “With over 1,000 submissions from outside the U.S., the Academy is especially gratified to be encouraging storytellers worldwide. We’re also tremendously proud of our Nicholl fellows, who during the past year alone have had films in festivals from Telluride and Toronto to Sundance and Tribeca.”

The Nicholl competition is open to any individual who has not earned more than $5,000 writing for film or television. Entry scripts must be feature length and the original work of a sole author or of exactly two collaborative authors. The scripts must have been written originally in English. Adaptations and translated scripts are not eligible.

Fellowships are awarded with the understanding that the recipients will each complete a feature-length screenplay during their fellowship year. The Academy acquires no rights to the works of Nicholl fellows and does not involve itself commercially in any way with their completed scripts.

Since the program’s inception in 1985, 123 fellowships have been awarded. Among the recent achievements by Nicholl fellows: Destin Daniel Cretton wrote and directed “I Am Not a Hipster,” which premiered at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival; Raymond De Felitta’s documentary “Booker’s Place: A Mississippi Story” premiered at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival last month; Andrew Marlowe created and executive produces and Terri Miller serves as a writer-producer on the ABC series “Castle”; Jeffrey Eugenides’ third novel, The Marriage Plot, was a 2012 National Book Critics Circle award nominee.

Fisher Stevens To Direct AMERICAN PASTORAL For Lakeshore Entertainment And Sidney Kimmel Entertainment; First Photo of STAND UP GUYS

Academy Award-winner Fisher Stevens will direct American Pastoral for Lakeshore Entertainment and Sidney Kimmel Entertainment. The project is based on Philip Roth’s Pulitzer Prize winning novel of the same name. Screenwriter John Romano (The Lincoln Lawyer, Intolerable Cruelty) adapted the screenplay.

American Pastoral is a pivotal story depicting the destruction of the American dream. Protagonist Seymour “Swede” Levov, a legendary high school athlete, grows up to marry a former beauty queen and inherits his father’s business. Swede’s seemingly perfect life shatters when his daughter rebels by becoming a revolutionary and commits a savage act of political terrorism during the Vietnam War.

The book is the first novel in Roth’s American postwar trilogy that also includes I Married a Communist and The Human Stain. This will mark Lakeshore Entertainment’s third project with Roth—The Human Stain was released in 2003 and Elegy (based on The Dying Animal) in 2008.

“Philip Roth is the great American author of our time,” says Lakeshore Chairman Tom Rosenberg. “Fisher shares our passion for Roth’s literature, and he is a unique storyteller with his multi-layered past in the business as an actor, producer and director.  Stand Up Guys has been a fantastic experience, and we are thrilled to work with Fisher again.”

Says Sidney Kimmel: “Philip Roth is such an extraordinary story teller, an American treasure, and this particular story so vivid that we could not be more excited. Fisher and all of us are dedicated to bringing his vision to the big screen in a fully complimentary and realized fashion.”

Stevens is currently directing Stand Up Guys starring Al Pacino, Christopher Walken and Alan Arkin for SKE and Lakeshore Entertainment which Lionsgate will release. He is represented by Paradigm and Untitled Entertainment.

Lakeshore Entertainment’s Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi are producing with Sidney Kimmel. SKE President Jim Tauber and SKE President of Production Matt Berenson are executive producing. Principal photography will begin early next year.

The project marks the seventh film co-financed and co-produced by Lakeshore and SKE in the past year, including the hit Lionsgate release The Lincoln Lawyer, and the upcoming I, Frankenstein, starring Aaron Eckhart and directed by Stuart Beattie for Lionsgate to release, in addition to Adaline in pre-production with Spanish director Isabel Coixet set to direct.
