New DJANGO UNCHAINED 60-Second Spot

Check out the brand new 60-second feature for DJANGO UNCHAINED, the highly anticipated film from Academy Award®-winning writer and director Quentin Tarantino, starring Jamie Foxx, Leonard DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson, Kerry Washington and Christopher Waltz. DJANGO UNCHAINED opens in theaters everywhere on December 25, 2012.

(via Yahoo! Movies)

Set in the South two years before the Civil War, DJANGO UNCHAINED stars Academy Award®-winner Jamie Foxx as Django, a slave whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with German-born bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Academy Award®-winner Christoph Waltz). Schultz is on the trail of the murderous Brittle brothers, and only Django can lead him to his bounty. The unorthodox Schultz acquires Django with a promise to free him upon the capture of the Brittles – dead or alive. Success leads Schultz to free Django, though the two men choose not to go their separate ways. Instead, Schultz seeks out the South’s most wanted criminals with Django by his side. Honing vital hunting skills, Django remains focused on one goal: finding and rescuing Broomhilda (Kerry Washington), the wife he lost to the slave trade long ago. Django and Schultz’s search ultimately leads them to Calvin Candie (Academy Award®-nominee Leonardo DiCaprio), the proprietor of “Candyland,” an infamous plantation. Exploring the compound under false pretenses, Django and Schultz arouse the suspicion of Stephen (Academy Award®-nominee Samuel L. Jackson), Candie’s trusted house slave. Their moves are marked, and a treacherous organization closes in on them. If Django and Schultz are to escape with Broomhilda, they must choose between independence and solidarity, between sacrifice and survival… ‘

Written and directed by Academy Award®-winner Quentin Tarantino, DJANGO UNCHAINED is produced by Stacey Sher, Reginald Hudlin and Pilar Savone. The executive producers are Harvey and Bob Weinstein, Michael Shamberg, Shannon McIntosh, and James Skotchdopole. DJANGO UNCHAINED will be released in the U.S. by The Weinstein Company on December 25, 2012, and internationally by Sony Pictures.

Check Out These New Images From PAPERMAN; Attached To Nov. 2 Bow Of WRECK-IT RALPH

First-time director John Kahrs showcases a minimalist black-and-white style with “Paperman,” an innovative animated short about a lonely young man in mid-century New York City who relies on his heart, imagination, a stack of papers—and a little luck—to change his destiny and win the girl of his dreams. In collaboration with producer Kristina Reed, the short makes its theatrical debut in front of “Wreck-It Ralph” on Nov. 2, 2012.

Introducing a groundbreaking technique that seamlessly merges computer-generated and hand-drawn animation techniques, first-time director John Kahrs takes the art of animation in a bold new direction with “Paperman.” Using a minimalist black-and-white style, the short follows the story of a lonely young man in mid-century New York City, whose destiny takes an unexpected turn after a chance meeting with a beautiful woman on his morning commute. Convinced the girl of his dreams is gone forever, he gets a second chance when he spots her in a skyscraper window across the avenue from his office. With only his heart, imagination and a stack of papers to get her attention, his efforts are no match for what the fates have in store for him.

Created by a small, innovative team working at Walt Disney Animation Studios, “Paperman” pushes the animation medium in an exciting new direction. An innovative team of 2D and CG artists used a proprietary program called Meander to create the short. Employing a technique called final line, artists were able to add a level of grace and expressiveness never before seen on the big screen.

Alongside Glen Keane and Clay Kaytis, director John Kahrs supervised the animation on the 2010 hit film “Tangled.” Before joining WDAS in 2007, he spent 10 years at Pixar Animation Studios working on films ranging from “A Bug’s Life” to “Ratatouille.” He served as lead animator for the character Sully in “Monsters, Inc.”

Producer Kristina Reed has been a key player at Walt Disney Animation Studios since 2008, with overlapping roles as vice president, production, and development producer.

Below is a photo from the world premiere of “Paperman” in June in France. Director John Kahrs and producer Kristina Reed threw paper airplanes into the audience (a tradition at Annecy International Animated Film Festival) as festival director Serge Bromberg cheered them on.

THE AWAKENING Trailer Debuts; Stars Rebecca Hall And Dominic West

Check out the spooky trailer for director Nick Murphy’s THE AWAKENING.

THE AWAKENING is the brand new supernatural thriller starring Rebecca Hall (The Town, the upcoming Iron Man 3) and Dominic West (HBO’s The Wire). Set in London in 1921, Florence Cathcart (Hall), author of the popular book “Seeing Through Ghosts,” has devoted her career to exposing claims of the supernatural as nothing but hoaxes. Haunted by the recent death of her fiancé, she is approached by Robert Mallory (West) to investigate the recent death of a student at the all-boys boarding school where he teaches. When students at the school report sightings of the young boy’s ghost, she decides to take on the case. Initially, the mystery surrounding the ghost appears nothing more than a schoolboy prank, but as Florence continues to investigate events at the school, she begins to believe that her reliance on science may not be enough to explain the strange phenomenon going on around her.

The film will be in theaters August 17.

Hell-bent on payback, the crew cuts a swath of destruction through opposing forces, wreaking havoc and shutting down an unexpected threat in the nick of time — six pounds of weapons-grade plutonium; enough to change the balance of power in the world.
