Millennium Media’s HELLBOY: THE CROOKED MAN To Star Jack Kesy, Directed By Brian Taylor

Millennium Media announced today that The Crooked Man has its Hellboy. Jack Kesy (12 Strong) will star as Hellboy.  As previously announced, Brian Taylor (Crank) will be directing with a script penned by Hellboy comic book creator Mike Mignola and Chris Golden.

The Crooked Man will be the first film in the Millennium Media partnered development slate with leading German film and TV distributor, Telepool, a division of Westbrook Inc.

Stranded in 1950s rural Appalachia, Hellboy and a rookie BPRD agent discover a small community haunted by witches, led by a local devil with a troubling connection to Hellboy’s past: the Crooked Man.

“Jack Kesy is a dynamic actor who has the ability to morph into his roles.  His talent and stature are perfect for this younger Hellboy.  I was very impressed with him while working together on The Outpost.” Co-President of Millennium Media, Jonathan Yunger stated.

Jack Kesy can currently be seen starring in the Lionsgate feature DARK WEB: CICADIA 3301 opposite Alan Ritchson. He most recently played ‘Sgt. Josh Kirk’ in the Millennium feature THE OUTPOST, opposite Orlando Bloom and Scott Eastwood as well as the role of ‘Thunder’ in Tom Clancy’s Amazon feature WITHOUT REMORSE alongside Michael B. Jordan. Jack’s upcoming films include Paramount feature SHEROES and Netflix feature THE KILLER. Jack starred in the AMC feature MOSQUITO STATE and in Sony’s PEELopposite Emilie Hirsch. Other work includes DEADPOOL 2, Paramount Pictures’ BAYWATCH, 12 STRONG for Lionsgate, Eli Roth’s DEATH WISH for MGM, and JUGGERNAUT directed by Daniel DiMarco. In television, Jack starred in the series CLAWS produced by Rashida Jones and Will McCormack and THE STRAIN for Guillermo del Toro.

Millennium Media bought the rights to Hellboy in 2018. The Eisner Award-winning Hellboy: The Crooked Man comic debuted in July 2008 to correspond with the cinema release of Hellboy II: The Golden Army.

Millennium Media presents Hellboy: The Crooked Man in association with Dark Horse Entertainment – A Nu Boyana Production in association with Campbell Grobman Film. Producers for The Crooked Man include Dark Horse Entertainment’s Mike Richardson, and Millennium Media’s Jeffrey Greenstein, Jonathan Yunger, Les Weldon, Rob Van Norden, and Yariv Lerner. Mike Mignola, Millennium Media’s Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, Boaz Davidson, and Tanner Mobley, Campbell Grobman Films’ Lati Grobman and Christa Campbell, and Telepool’s Michael Muellner and Julia Muentefering are among the executive producers. Sam Schulte will co-produce on behalf of Millennium Media.

Within the last year, Telepool has acquired Millennium’s current slate of productions for German speaking territories including The Enforcer starring Antonio Banderasand Red Sonja starring Matilda Lutz, directed by M.J. Bassett. Telepool has previously distributed the Gerard Butler Has Fallen franchise and the successful Hitman’s Bodyguard franchise for German-speaking territories.

Millennium Media recently released the horror film The Offering. Their upcoming slate for 2023 includes The Bricklayer with Aaron Eckhart and Nina Dobrev, The Piperwith Charlotte Hope and Julian Sands, and the 4th installment of The Expendables franchise. They have recently wrapped production on their highly anticipated comic book adaptation Red Sonja starring Matilda Lutz, Wallis Day, and Robert Sheehan, Dirty Angels starring Eva Green, Ruby Rose, and Maria Bakalova, and Subservience starring Megan Fox.

Look Alive Mortals! Check Out The Teaser For Disney’s HAUNTED MANSION – Appearing In Theaters July 28

Look alive, foolish mortals! WAMG is dying for you to view the teaser trailer and poster for Disney’s comically creepy adventure “Haunted Mansion,” which will appear in theaters on July 28. 

Directed by award-winning filmmaker Justin Simien, the film features an all-star ensemble cast including LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, Rosario Dawson, Chase W. Dillon and Dan Levy, with Jamie Lee Curtis and Jared Leto as The Hatbox Ghost.

John Cena, Awkwafina and Simu Liu To Star In Prime Video’s GRAND DEATH LOTTO, From Director Paul Feig

Today it was announced that John Cena, Awkwafina, and Simu Liu are set to star in Prime Video’s action-comedy Grand Death Lotto, from director Paul Feig. Feig is directing the film from a script penned by Rob Yescombe (Outside the Wire). The film, which hails from Amazon Studios, will be produced by Roth/Kirschenbaum Films’ Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum, and Feigco Entertainment’s Laura Fischer and Paul Feig. John Cena, Zack Roth, and Rob Yescombe will executive produce. 

In the very near future, the Grand Lottery has been established in economically challenged California. The only catch? Kill the winner before sundown and you can legally claim their prize. New LA transplant Katie (Awkwafina) accidentally finds herself with the winning ticket and must join forces with amateur jackpot protector Noel (John Cena) to make it to sundown in order to claim her multi-billion dollar prize, all while dealing with Noel’s protection rival Louis Lewis (Simu Liu), who also wants to get her to sundown in order to claim his rich protection commission.


The Amazon Original Movie will be available to stream on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. Production begins next week.

John Cena recently starred as Peacemaker in the No. 1 HBO Max Original series of the same name. His upcoming credits include the tenth main installment in the Fast & Furious franchise Fast X, Matthew Vaughn-helmed spy thriller Argylle, Prime Video’s Ricky Stanicky,and the sequel to Vacation Friends.

Awkwafina will next be seen in Universal’s Renfield opposite Nicolas Cage and Disney’s The Little Mermaid. Additionally, she will star opposite Sandra Oh in an upcoming Untitled Sister Comedy Project for Hulu and the third season of Comedy Central’s Nora from Queens. 

Simu Liu’s credits include Disney’s Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings and Warner Bros.’ upcoming feature Barbie.

Paul Feig is a DGA-winning and Emmy-nominated filmmaker, writer, producer, and author who most recently served as the director, producer, and co-writer of The School for Good and Evil, which debuted as the #1 film on Netflix in 88 countries worldwide upon release. In television, he is a writer, executive producer, and director of FOX’s Welcome to Flatch, which is currently airing its second season, and an executive producer of Minx, which will premiere its second season on Starz later this year. He has a proven track record of films that have grossed over one billion dollars worldwide including Bridesmaids, Last Christmas, The Heat, Ghostbusters, Spy, and A Simple Favor, the latter of which Feig will direct and produce a sequel.

THE MACHINE is directed by Peter Atencio, with a screenplay by Kevin Biegel and Scotty Landes.

While serving as the director and executive producer of the hit sketch comedy tv series Key & Peele, Atencio was nominated for three prime-time Emmy awards, winning one for Best Variety Sketch series in 2016. He was nominated for an NAACP Image Award and won a Peabody Award and an American Comedy Award for best TV director for his work on the show.

After ending the series, Atencio transitioned with stars Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele to the world of feature films with 2016’s KEANU, an action comedy for Warner Bros. Watch Russell Crowe In THE POPE’S EXORCIST In Brand New Trailer

Inspired by the actual files of Father Gabriele Amorth, Chief Exorcist of the Vatican (Academy Award®-winner Russell Crowe), The Pope’s Exorcist follows Amorth as he investigates a young boy’s terrifying possession and ends up uncovering a centuries-old conspiracy the Vatican has desperately tried to keep hidden.

Directed by Julius Avery, who helmed 2018’s OVERLORD, starring Jovan Adepo, Wyatt Russell, and Sylvester Stallone in the excellent SAMARITAN, streaming on Prime Video, his new feature film opens in cinemas on April 14.

First Look Clip And Festival Poster Released for Jennifer Reeder’s Horror-Noir PERPETRATOR Starring Kiah McKirnan And Alicia Silverstone

Shudder has released the new festival poster and first-look clip from Jennifer Reeder’s upcoming horror-noir PERPETRATOR, set to world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival Friday, February 17. The Shudder Original Film stars Kiah McKirnan (Mare of Easttown), Christopher Lowell (MY BEST FRIEND’S EXORCISM, PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN), Melanie Liburd (The Idol), Ireon Roach (CANDYMAN [2021]), and Alicia Silverstone (CLUELESS, KILLING OF A SACRED DEER) and is produced by Gregory Chambet for WTFilms and Derek Bishé for Divide/Conquer.

Written and directed by Reeder, PERPETRATOR follows Jonny (McKirnan), a reckless teen sent to live with her estranged Aunt Hildie (Silverstone). On her 18th birthday, she experiences a radical metamorphosis: a family spell that redefines her called Forevering. When several teen girls go missing at her new school, a mythically feral Jonny goes after the Perpetrator.
