GOLDA Trailer Features Helen Mirren And Liev Schreiber

Academy Award® winner Helen Mirren is Golda Meir, Israel’s first female Prime Minister, in the new trailer for Bleeker Street’s GOLDA.

Written by Nicholas Martin (Florence Foster Jenkins), Golda is a ticking-clock thriller – sharing the intensely dramatic events, high-stake responsibilities, and controversial decisions that Meir – also known as the ‘Iron Lady of Israel’ – faced during the Yom Kippur War in 1973. Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir (Helen Mirren), faced with the potential of Israel’s complete destruction, must navigate overwhelming odds, a skeptical cabinet, and a complex relationship with US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger (Liev Schreiber), with millions of lives in the balance. Her tough leadership and compassion would ultimately decide the fate of her nation and leave her with a controversial legacy around the world.

Camille Cottin plays Lou Kaddar, Golda’s long-time personal assistant, who stood beside her throughout the war.

When the film was announced in 2021, Mirren said “Golda Meir was a formidable, intransigent and powerful leader. It is a great challenge to portray her at the most difficult moment of her extraordinary life. I only hope I do her justice!”

GOLDA had its world premiere at the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival on February 20, 2023. It also screened at the Jerusalem Film Festival on July 13, 2023.

Exactly 50 years ago this fall, the most terrifying horror film in history landed on screens, shocking audiences around the world. Now, on Friday, October 13, a new chapter begins. From Blumhouse and director David Gordon Green, who shattered the status quo with their resurrection of the Halloween franchise, comes THE EXORCIST: BELIEVER.

Since the death of his pregnant wife in a Haitian earthquake 12 years ago, Victor Fielding (Tony winner and Oscar® nominee Leslie Odom, Jr.; One Night in Miami, Hamilton) has raised their daughter, Angela (Lidya Jewett, Good Girls) on his own.

But when Angela and her friend Katherine (newcomer Olivia Marcum), disappear in the woods, only to return three days later with no memory of what happened to them, it unleashes a chain of events that will force Victor to confront the nadir of evil and, in his terror and desperation, seek out the only person alive who has witnessed anything like it before: Chris MacNeil.

Body and the Blood – hit the iconic Tubular Bells and catch the truly scary trailer now!

For the first time since the 1973 film, Oscar® winner Ellen Burstyn reprises her iconic role as Chris MacNeil, an actress who has been forever altered by what happened to her daughter Regan five decades before.

The film also stars Emmy winner Ann Dowd (The Handmaid’s Tale, Hereditary) as Victor and Angela’s neighbor, and Grammy winner Jennifer Nettles (Harriet, The Righteous Gemstones) and two-time Tony winner Norbert Leo Butz (Fosse/Verdon, Bloodline) as the parents of Katherine, Angela’s friend.

When The Exorcist, based on the best-selling book by William Peter Blatty, was released, it changed the culture forever, obliterating box office records and earning 10 Academy Award® nominations, becoming the first horror film ever nominated for Best Picture.

Check out the new book The Exorcist Legacy: 50 Years of Fear by Nat Segaloff who was an original publicist for the movie and the acclaimed biographer of its director.

As William Friedkin said on many occasions, “I didn’t set out to scare the hell out of people as you do with a horror film. I set out to make a film that would make them think about the concept of good and evil.”

The THE EXORCIST: BELIEVER is directed by David Gordon Green from a screenplay by Peter Sattler (Camp X-Ray) and David Gordon Green, from a story by Scott Teems (Halloween Kills), Danny McBride (Halloween trilogy) and David Gordon Green, based on characters created by William Peter Blatty.

Must-See! New Posters Are Here For THE EXORCIST: BELIEVER – In Theaters October 13

Alright horror fans… Universal and Blumhouse released on Thursday three brand new posters for their upcoming movie THE EXORCIST: BELIEVER.

Looking very much like Regan from the original movie, the sequel will hit theaters on October 13. The 1973 film (directed by William Friedkin and written by William Peter Blatty) is about a 12-year-old girl who is possessed by a mysterious demonic entity, forcing her mother to seek the help of two priests to save her.

THE EXORCIST won two Oscars for Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material from Another Medium – William Peter Blatty and Best Sound – Christopher Newman, Robert Knudson. It went onto have a worldwide box office gross of $441,306,145 (Box Office Mojo) with only a $11 million budget. It starred Ellen Burstyn, Max von Sydow, Jason Miller, and Linda Blair.

David Gordon Green (HALLOWEEN 2018) directs the new film, and is produced by Jason Blum, David Robinson and James G. Robinson.

As reported by Collider in July 2021:

The New York Times broke the news, reporting that Ellen Burstyn will reprise her role from William Friedkin‘s original 1973 classic, and she’ll be joined by Leslie Odom Jr., the Tony-winning Hamilton star who recently earned two Oscar nominations for One Night in Miami — one for his supporting turn as Sam Cooke, and another for original song.

Jason Blum will produce alongside James Robinson and David Robinson of Morgan Creek, which holds the rights to the Exorcist franchise. The Times reported that Universal and Peacock have acquired the trilogy in a mega-deal worth more than $400 million, with the first film expected to hit theaters on Oct. 13, 2023 — a year after Green’s final Halloween movie. Meanwhile, the second and third Exorcist films could wind up debuting on Peacock under the terms of the deal.

The movie also features Ann Dowd, Jennifer Nettles, Norbert Leo Butz and Okwui Okpokwasili.
