Fans Of Zane’s ADDICTED To Get Early Sneak Peek Of The Film Oct. 9

The legions of fans of Zane’s provocative best-selling thriller ADDICTED, adapted into a major motion picture from Lionsgate and Codeblack Films, will be treated to a unique one-night event, “Addicted: Live With Zane,” the day before the film’s nationwide theatrical release, it was announced today by event hosts Lionsgate, Codeblack Films and Fathom Events.

The three companies have joined forces to give fans an early chance to see the film and participate in a live Q&A with best-selling author Zane, ADDICTED stars Sharon Leal, Boris Kodjoe, Tasha Smith, Tyson Beckford andWilliam Levy and the film’s director Bille Woodruff.  The event will be broadcast live from the AMC Magic Johnson Theater in New York and audiences will have the opportunity to ask questions via Twitter as well as hear Grammy-winning recording artist Estelle sing her latest single, “Conqueror,” featured in the film.

“Addicted: Live With Zane” will be presented in select cinemas nationwide on Thursday, October 9th at 8 pm ET/ 5 pm PT with a second tape-delayed showing at 11 pm ET/8 pm PT.

“‘Addicted’ is a film people will be talking about for a long time,” Fathom Events CEO John Rubey said. “Offering our large and loyal audience the chance to have an advance look and participate with the author, cast and filmmakers is an experience they won’t soon forget.”

Based on Zane’s best-selling novel, ADDICTED is a sexy and provocative thriller about desire and the dangers of indiscretion. Successful businesswoman Zoe Reynard (Sharon Leal) appears to have attained it all – the dream husband she loves (Boris Kodjoe), two wonderful children and a flourishing career. As perfect as everything appears from the outside, Zoe is still drawn to temptations she cannot escape or resist.  As she pursues a secret life, Zoe finds herself risking it all when she heads down a perilous path she may not survive.

The film also stars Tasha Smith, Tyson Beckford, Emayatzy Corinealdi, Kat Graham, and William Levy and is directed by Bille Woodruff from a screenplay by Christina Welsh and Ernie Barbarash.

Captain America (Chris Evans) and Falcon (Anthony Mackie) team up to save the day, sorta, in the brand new trailer for the romantic comedy, PLAYING IT COOL.

Billed as the “Anti-Romantic Comedy for all you True Romantics,” the movie also stars Michelle Monaghan, Luke Wilson, Topher Grace, Aubrey Plaza, and Phillip Baker Hall.

This is the story of ME (Evans), a young man disillusioned by love, who meets a breathtaking young woman, HER (Monaghan), at a charity dinner by pretending to be a philanthropist. Only one problem: she’s engaged. Yet, he engages into a platonic relationship to be able to keep seeing her.

Like a young Walter Mitty using the power of imagination and wild vignettes, HIM will stop at nothing to conquer HER heart.

Previously titled A MANY SPLINTERED THING, director Justin Reardon’s film has no release date yet.

On the heels of the successful SNOWPIERCER, it was recently announced that the Chris Evans helmed film, BEFORE WE GO, has been acquired by RADiUS. Also starring Alice Eve, the movie played at the Toronto International Film Festival and will be released in 2015. According to the press release on Deadline, Evans said, “As a first time director, I’m so excited that we found a home with RADiUS. I was really impressed with what they did on SNOWPIERCER and my film couldn’t be in better hands.”

Chris Rock’s Toronto Favorite TOP FIVE To Be Distributed By Paramount Pictures

Paramount Pictures announced it will distribute writer / director Chris Rock’s TOP FIVE worldwide. The news comes as the film from producer Scott Rudin, and his IACF partner Barry Diller, earned rave reviews at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival.

“Chris and I go back decades, both personally and professionally, and so I am particularly proud to have watched his career grow to its highest heights over many decades. This film showcases brilliantly how talented Chris is as a filmmaker and storyteller and we are thrilled to be partnering with him, Scott Rudin and my longtime friend, the legendary Barry Diller and IACF for its worldwide launch,” said Brad Grey, Chairman and CEO of Paramount Pictures.

Written, directed by, and starring Chris Rock, TOP FIVE tells the story of New York City comedian-turned-film star Andre Allen, whose unexpected encounter with a journalist (Rosario Dawson) forces him to confront the comedy career—and the past—that he’s left behind.

Keanu Reeves Seeks Vengeance In JOHN WICK Poster

Lionsgate has revealed the first poster for filmmakers Chad Stahelski’s and David Leitch’s action thriller JOHN WICK.

An ex-hitman comes out of retirement to track down the gangsters that took everything from him. With New York City as his bullet-riddled playground, JOHN WICK (Keanu Reeves) is a fresh and stylized take on the “assassin genre”.

Come back on Friday when the first trailer debuts.

The film also stars Michael Nyqvist, Alfie Allen, Adrianne Palicki, Bridget Moynahan, Dean Winters, Ian McShane, with John Leguizamo, and Willem Dafoe.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY composer Tyler Bates has written the score for the movie.

Liongate Announces Release Dates For NOW YOU SEE ME 2 And Robert De Niro’s DIRTY GRANDPA

Lionsgate has released the dates for two of their upcoming films in 2015 and 2016.

DIRTY GRANDPA – presently the tentative title – will open in wide release on December 25, 2015, from Lionsgate.

Starring Robert De Niro and Zac Efron, the film’s synopsis reads:

Right before his wedding, an uptight guy is tricked into driving his foul-mouthed grandfather, a former Army general, to Florida for spring break.

The movie is directed by Dan Mazer (BORAT) and written by John Phillips.

NOW YOU SEE ME

The sequel to director Louis Leterrier’s 2013 hit NOW YOU SEE ME, will be in theaters on June 10, 2016, from Summit Entertainment.

Titled NOW YOU SEE ME 2, the film stars Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, Morgan Freeman, and Michael Caine. In the original entertaining movie, four talented magicians mesmerize an international audience with a series of bold and original heists, all the while pursuing a hidden agenda that has the FBI and Interpol scrambling to anticipate their next move.

The sequel is from director Jon M. Chu (G.I. JOE: RETALIATION).

Time to “stick out your chin and grin and say…” The new poster for Sony Pictures’ upcoming movie ANNIE was revealed today.

Academy Award nominee Quvenzhané Wallis (Beasts of the Southern Wild) stars as Annie, a young, happy foster kid who’s also tough enough to make her way on the streets of New York in 2014.

Originally left by her parents as a baby with the promise that they’d be back for her someday, it’s been a hard knock life ever since with her mean foster mom Miss Hannigan (Cameron Diaz). Filming To Begin On Craig Gillespie’s THE FINEST HOURS – Stars Chris Pine & Casey Affleck

Production is scheduled to begin in September on THE FINEST HOURS, starring Chris Pine (“Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit,” “Star Trek”), Academy Award and Golden Globe nominee Casey Affleck (“The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford,” “Ocean’s Thirteen”) and Holliday Grainger (“Cinderella,” “Bonnie & Clyde”).

The thriller, which will be directed by Craig Gillespie (“Million Dollar Arm,” “Lars and the Real Girl”), will shoot on location in Quincy and Chatham, Massachusetts.

In February of 1952, one of the worst storms to ever hit the East Coast struck New England, damaging an oil tanker off the coast of Cape Cod and literally ripping it in half. On a small lifeboat faced with frigid temperatures and 70-foot high waves, four members of the Coast Guard set out to rescue the more than 30 stranded sailors trapped aboard the rapidly-sinking vessel.

“The Finest Hours” is the story of their heroic mission, which is still considered the greatest small boat rescue in Coast Guard history.

The film is produced by Jim Whitaker (“Cinderella Man”) and Dorothy Aufiero (“The Fighter”). The screenplay is by Academy Award nominees Paul Tamsay & Eric Johnson (“The Fighter”) and Academy Award nominee Scott Silver (“The Fighter,” “8 Mile”) based on the book by Casey Sherman and Michael J. Tougias.

THE FINEST HOURS will be released in the U.S. in Fall, 2015.

Check out the teaser poster for Andrew Niccol’s new film GOOD KILL, which is having its North American premiere tonight (September 9th) at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The film, starring Ethan Hawke, enjoyed its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival on September 5th.

From the Oscar nominated visionary writer/director of LORD OF WAR comes a unique look at the current state of war through the eyes of a drone-pilot.

The film tells the story of a Las Vegas fighter-pilot turned drone-pilot (Ethan Hawke), who fights the Taliban via remote control for half of his day, then goes home to his wife (January Jones) and kids in the suburbs for the other half. But the pilot is starting to question the mission. Is he creating more terrorists than he’s killing? Is he fighting a war without end? One soldier’s tale with epic implications.

GOOD KILL is a visually stunning exploration of how a man’s psychological, emotional and moral boundaries are challenged by the realities of 21st century warfare.
