PREDATOR: BADLANDS First Look Is So Cool And Includes A Weyland-Yutani Android

For those of us who saw all the ALIEN and PREDATOR movies, even the AvP films, in the cinemas when they were released on unsuspecting movie goers, many of us became instant and lifelong fans, obsessed with these two creatures.

Decades later, you can only imagine what its like for we diehards to see an ALIEN series and two PREDATOR movies, all in one year, nevermind last year’s ALIEN: ROMULUS.

20th Century Studios released the first trailer and poster for PREDATOR, BADLANDS, the newest entry in the “Predator” franchise, directed by Dan Trachtenberg (“Prey”). “Predator: Badlands” opens exclusively in movie theaters on November 7 in IMAX, Dolby Cinema, Cinemark XD, 4DX, ScreenX, and premium screens everywhere.

PREDATOR, BADLANDS, which stars Elle Fanning and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi, is set in the future on a remote planet, where a young Predator (Schuster-Koloamatangi), outcast from his clan, finds an unlikely ally in Thia (Fanning) and embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary. The film is directed by Dan Trachtenberg and produced by John Davis, Dan Trachtenberg, Marc Toberoff, Ben Rosenblatt, Brent O’Connor.

The most interesting part of this first look is this item is at the 26 sec mark. Look at Fanning’s eyes with the logo.

Could this be one of Weyland-Yutani’s androids? The very same company in the Alien franchise whose founders made an appearance in Alien vs Predator (Charles Bishop Weyland, founder of Weyland Industries.) and especially in the final scene of Alien vs. Predator: Requiem (The Yutani Corporation, headed by Ms. Yutani).

And for those of us who love the under-appreciated PREDATOR 2, (the first film to tie the 2 franchises together and where people in the theater lost their minds upon seeing the Xenomorph skull), hat tip for adding the trophy room scene!

Earlier this month 20th Century Studios announced that “Predator: Killer of Killers,” an original animated action-adventure film set in the Predator universe, will premiere June 6, 2025, exclusively on Hulu.

The anthology story follows three of the fiercest warriors in human history: a Viking raider guiding her young son on a bloody quest for revenge, a ninja in feudal Japan who turns against his Samurai brother in a brutal battle for succession, and a WWII pilot who takes to the sky to investigate an otherworldly threat to the Allied cause. But while all these warriors are killers in their own right, they are merely prey for their new opponent – the ultimate killer of killers.

“Predator: Killer of Killers” is directed by Dan Trachtenberg with Josh Wassung, from animation company The Third Floor, serving as co-director.
