Remember back when we all first saw ‘Fellowship of the Ring’, and we thought, “Hey, that dude who plays Legolas is pretty cool. Â I wonder if he’ll make it to the top?” Â Ah to be young and ignorant.
Seriously, though, Bloom is a decent actor who is, thankfully, choosing different projects to put on his resume. Â He is now in negotiations to star in ‘Main Street,’ the last drama written by late playwright Horton Foote.
Bloom would be joining a cast that already holds Andrew McCarthy, Ellen Burstyn, Patricia Clarkson and Colin Firth.  The central character, that of a young girl, has yet to be cast.
Foote’s drama centers on a group of people in a small town in North Carolina whose lives are shaken up when a stranger arrives. Bloom will play the town’s policeman.
The film is set to begin shooting next month in North Carolina with John Doyle directing.
