Academy Award® winner Emma Stone (“La La Land”) stars in Disney’s “Cruella,” an all-new live-action feature film about the rebellious early days of one of cinemas most notorious – and notoriously fashionable – villains, the legendary Cruella de Vil. “Cruella,” which is set in 1970s London amidst the punk rock revolution, follows a young grifter named Estella, a clever and creative girl determined to make a name for herself with her designs. She befriends a pair of young thieves who appreciate her appetite for mischief, and together they are able to build a life for themselves on the London streets. One day, Estella’s flair for fashion catches the eye of the Baroness von Hellman, a fashion legend who is devastatingly chic and terrifyingly haute, played by two-time Oscar® winner Emma Thompson (“Howards End,” “Sense & Sensibility”). But their relationship sets in motion a course of events and revelations that will cause Estella to embrace her wicked side and become the raucous, fashionable and revenge-bent Cruella.

Disney’s “Cruella” is directed by Craig Gillespie (“I Tonya”) from a screenplay by Dana Fox and Tony McNamara, story by Aline Brosh McKenna and Kelly Marcel & Steve Zissis. It was produced by Andrew Gunn (“Freaky Friday”), Marc Platt (“Mary Poppins Returns”) and Kristin Burr (“Christopher Robin”), with Emma Stone, Michelle Wright, Jared LeBoff and Glenn Close serving as executive producers. Two-time Oscar®- winning costume designer Jenny Beavan (“Mad Max: Fury Road,” “A Room with a View”) creates the dazzling and imaginative costumes, which take on a life of their own.

First look at Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow

scarlettjoblackwidow

Entertainment Weekly has a first look at Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow from ‘Iron Man 2’. You can see above she doesn’t quite look like herself, but damn does that leather suit look great.

blackwidow

For those of you that aren’t in the know, here is a rundown of the Black Widow character that Scarlett Jo is bringing to life:

The Black Widow appeared for the first time in her trademark skintight black costume in The Amazing Spider-Man #86 (July 1970). In short order, she starred in her own series in Amazing Adventures #1-8 (August 1970 September 1971), sharing that split book with the feature Inhumans. Immediately after her initial solo feature ended, the Black Widow co-starred in Daredevil #81–124 (November 1971–August 1975) and then in the super-team series The Champions, which ran 17 issues (October 1975–January 1978).

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, the Black Widow appeared frequently as both an Avengers member and a freelance agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. She starred in a serialized feature within the omnibus comic-book series Marvel Fanfare #10–13 (August 1983–March 1984), written by George Pérez and Ralph Macchio, with art by penciller Perez. These stories were collected in the one-shot Black Widow: Web of Intrigue #1 (June 1999).

So there you have it boys and girls, Black Widow can kick some ass and I cant wait to see Scarlett Jo in the full leather body suit.

Emily Blunt Officially Out of ‘Iron Man 2’

emily_bluntblack-widow

The news that Emily Blunt would not be starring in ‘Iron Man 2’ as Black Widow has been in the pipeline for quite a while now.   There has even been news about her replacement.

Well, I guess the official word had not come down until now, as Jon Favreau, the director, told The Playlist that 20th Century Fox had exercised their option on Blunt to star in ‘Gulliver’s Travels’, and she is officially out of ‘Iron Man 2’.

Favreau said he is disappointed but did not give any news as to who might be replacing her.   I guess we’ll have to sit back and wait for any news on Johansson stepping into the role.

As for Mickey Rourke, Favreau only said that he wasn’t officially cast but that he is a fan.   Whatever that means.

‘Iron Man 2’ is slated for May 7th, 2010.
