Beware the Christmas Samurai! BLOOD BEAT Screens This Weekend at The Des Peres – Late Nite Grindhouse!
“It kills, kills, mutilates, mutilates, anyone in its path!”
BLOOD BEAT is the 1983 classic shocker written directed and produced by the one and only Fabrice A. Zaphiratos, who also composed the film’s score! No, we’ve never heard of Mr. Zaphirato either, nor are we even remotely familiar with BLOOD BEAT so we’ll just have to trust Andy and the gang at Destroy the Brain.com. Their ‘Late Nite Grindhouse’ film series choice for this month may be an obscure one, but they’ve dug up hidden gems before, so we’ll be there!
Head to the Marcus Des Peres Cinema (12701 Manchester Rd, Des Peres, MO 63131) this Friday and Saturday (December 10th and 11th) at 10pm for BLOOD BEAT (1983). Tickets are $8 each. A Facebook invite with advance ticket details can be found HERE
“Blood Beat” follows a young woman named Sarah who goes along with her boyfriend to his family’s rural farmhouse in Wisconsin to celebrate Christmas. Their glad tidings are soon interrupted by her boyfriend’s mother’s apparent psychic visions, followed by the spirit of a Japanese samurai soldier armed with a sword who begins decking the halls with body parts.
