Directed by award-winning filmmaker Rod Lurie (The Contender, The Last Castle) and adapted by Oscar-nominated screenwriters Paul Tamasy and Eric Johnson (The Fighter), comes one of the best military films THE OUTPOST. The movie will be available on DVD and Blu-ray August 18.

Screen Media’s release of Millennium Media’s THE OUTPOST has been one of the top movies in America since its release, hitting #1 on several VOD platforms since its debut on July 3rd, including on iTunes, GooglePlay, Spectrum and FandangoNOW. It is “Certified Fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes, with a 92% rating.

In this military thriller, based on The New York Times best-selling non-fiction book, The Outpost: An Untold Story of American Valor from CNN’s Jake Tapper, a tiny unit of U.S. soldiers, alone at the remote Combat Outpost Keating, located deep in the valley of three mountains in Afghanistan, battles to defend against an overwhelming force of Taliban fighters in a coordinated attack. The Battle of Kamdesh, as it was known, was the bloodiest American engagement of the Afghan War in 2009 and Bravo Troop 3-61 CAV became one of the most decorated units of the 19-year conflict.

Scott Eastwood portrays Staff Sergeant Clint Romesha and Caleb Landry Jones portrays Specialist Ty Carter (who also appears in the movie), who were awarded the Medal of Honor. Orlando Bloom plays Captain Ben Keating. Director Rod Lurie, himself a former soldier and graduate of West Point, cast several other veterans of the American military in various roles, including Henry Hughes and Daniel Rodriguez.
