First Look Photo of Johnny Depp From Set Of RICHARD SAYS GOODBYE

Principal photography started on location in Vancouver on RICHARD SAYS GOODBYE starring three-time Academy Award® nominee Johnny Depp, it was announced today by IM Global Founder and CEO Stuart Ford.

Golden Globe® nominee Danny Huston (Wonder Woman, X-Men Origins: Wolverine), Rosemarie DeWitt (La La Land, Rachel’s Getting Married), Zoey Deutch (Everybody Wants Some!!, upcoming The Disaster Artist), Devon Terrell (Barry), and Odessa Young (Looking for Grace, The Daughter) have joined the cast of the comedy drama, which is written and directed by Wayne Roberts (Katie Says Goodbye).

IM Global and Cirrina Studios are co-financing the film with additional financing from Leeding Media.

Brian Kavanaugh-Jones (Sinister, Midnight Special) of Automatik Entertainment and IM Global’s President of Production Greg Shapiro (The Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty) are producing the film. Ford and Miguel Palos of IM Global, Karine Martin, David Lipman and Jim Pesoli of Cirrina Studios, David U. Lee and Steve Squillante of Leeding Media, Rian Cahill of Automatik Entertainment, and Braden Aftergood are serving as Executive Producers.

The film follows the story of Richard (Depp), a world weary college professor who is given a life-changing diagnosis and decides to throw all pretense and conventions to the wind and live his life as boldly and freely as possible with a biting sense of humor, a reckless streak, and a touch of madness.

The film’s start adds to a hectic period of production for the thriving independent studio with Steven Knight’s serenity starring Academy Award® winner Matthew McConaughey, Academy Award® winner Anne Hathaway, Academy Award® nominee Diane Lane, Jason Clarke, and Academy Award® nominee Djimon Hounsou currently shooting in Mauritius, Drake Doremus’ ZOE starring Golden Globe® nominee Ewan McGregor, Léa Seydoux, Theo James and Christina Aguilera having recently wrapped production and with the financier in active pre-production with Eon Productions’ THE RHYTHM SECTION starring Blake Lively and to be directed by Emmy Award ® nominee Reed Morano.

Huston can currently be seen in the worldwide box office hit Wonder Woman starring Gal Gadot. His other film credits include Big Eyes starring Amy Adams, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Alfonso Cuarón’s Children of Men, Golden Globe® nominated The Constant Gardner, Martin Scorsese’s Oscar® nominated The Aviator, and Alejandro González Iñárritu’s 21 Grams.

DeWitt recently appeared in the Oscar® winning film La La Land starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. Her other film credits include Poltergeist starring Sam Rockwell, The Odd Life of Timothy Green starring Jennifer Garner, Lynn Shelton’s Your Sister’s Sister starring Emily Blunt and Mark Duplass, and Gus Van Sant’s Promised Land starring Matt Damon and John Krasinski.

Deutch recently starred in Open Road’s Before I Fall and just completed shooting Netflix’s Set It Up. Her other credits include Richard Linklater’s Everybody Wants Some!! and she will next be seen in the J.D. Salinger biopic Rebel in the Rye starring Nicholas Hoult, which IFC is releasing in September, and James Franco’s The Disaster Artist, which will be released by A24 in December.

Terrell received rave reviews for his performance in Barry, a look into the early life of former US President Barack Obama. The film had its world premiere at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival. He will next be seen in Ophelia opposite Naomi Watts and Daisy Ridley.

Young has starred in Sue Brooks’ Looking for Grace opposite Radha Mitchell and Richard Roxborough and The Daughter opposite Geoffrey Rush and Sam Neil. She will next be seen in Assassination Nation starring Bella Thorne and Suki Waterhouse and Imagine Entertainment’s TV series When the Streetlights Go Out.
